The J is part of my silver sneakers program and here's the situation there. It's a lovely facility…read more New equipment, beautiful pool, tennis courts and pickleball. When snowbirds are here you can't really get into classes ( most are great) unless you set alarms for yourself and sign up a couple of days ahead. The place skews older and I although there are high school kids there in the afternoons it's not age diverse. Plus side is it's very forgiving and a great place to start weight lifting and more. There are paid programs for that and I think that would be worth it. I belong to a few other places so it's not a problem. I really like yin yoga there and trx . If this is going to be your main place you will be frustrated.

Okay... how did I NOT know this place existed?! That's…read moreexactly what I was thinking the first time I stepped foot onto the JCC. I discovered the Tucson Jewish Community Center after they hosted the Hot Cocoa Run 5K (hands down one of the funnest, most vendor-packed races I've ever done ), and let me tell you--walking into the JCC feels like stepping into a whole other world. This place is HUGE and has everything. They gifted a week pass in our swag bags from 5k and I fully leaned in--and I'm so glad I did. First off, the community + programming here is next level. I got to participate in pottery and ceramics classes (SO fun and surprisingly legit), and I love that they partner with local creatives and groups. It gives the whole place a collab, community-driven feel that I'm always looking for. On the fitness side--they're not playing around. I took multiple classes, and their cycle class (aka performance ride ) was actually really solid. Great energy, great programming. I also hit a strength-based class that delivered, and the gym floor itself is super clean, spacious, and not overcrowded (major win). The crowd is also refreshingly diverse in age, which I loved--it truly feels inclusive. And can we talk about the Cafe at the J... because YES. Tons of vegan options , actually flavorful, and super affordable. Not your typical "gym cafe" situation at all. Beyond that, this place is basically a mini campus--tennis, pools, art spaces, events, rentals, and even traditional Jewish baked goods (fresh bread, hello ). They also host a TON of events--like so many it's hard to keep up--so definitely check their calendar because there's always something happening. Overall, I'd absolutely go back. Whether you're going for fitness, arts, community events, or just to explore something new in Tucson--this place is a whole experience.

I debated whether to leave a review or not and decided that I could not, in good conscience, leave…read morethose who are considering leaving their child in the care of the individuals at this facility uninformed. The employees that are currently employed there do not meet the physical, emotional, ethical, or intellectual standards for developing children to model. There is no curriculum and the bare minimum of effort is done to provide a productive environment. There is no structure to the day despite what you may be told. The children are left to their own devices to play with dirty donated toys in a Lord of the Flies-like setting. The Director and another member of staff have been at this facility for 20 years, which is longer than most marriages, and have a deeply unethical and unprofessional relationship. They will cover up and obscure wrongdoing at your child's expense. They speak poorly of the children and their parents when being in no condition to look down on anyone. This institution is not a childcare development center; rather, it is a petty fiefdom that is lorded over by individuals who are lazy in the realm of physical fitness, emotional development, and general ethics. If you care at all about the well-being of your child and their capacity to develop into a productive adult that contributes positively to humanity, do not send your child here. As a strong believer in evidence and empiricism when visiting the institution, I encourage you to observe the individuals and environment for yourself to verify that what is being claimed here is true. For your child's sake heed this warning. There are other institutions with ethical, knowledgeable, and motivated staff that will enrich your child and put them on the path towards success.

I am truly blown away by the progress my son has made. My son turned 2 in December, and just five…read moredays later he started at Childtime. From the very beginning, I was amazed at how comfortable he became in such a short amount of time. Within three weeks, he confidently walks to his seat and tells me a sweet "bye, mama!" every morning. What really stands out is the level of education and communication. We receive weekly lesson plans, and I love seeing how much he's learning--things like shadows and light, and even animals I didn't realize he knew. He's surprised me at least three times already by talking about new animals at home! The staff is incredibly kind and genuinely makes my little guy feel loved and supported. This experience has completely changed my day at work, knowing he is in a school environment, not just daycare. Throughout the day, I receive photos, meal updates, and diaper change notifications, which gives me such peace of mind. They post so many sweet moments that I honestly forget to check the cameras--yes, they even have those too! I want to personally thank Dee, Arlette, Mary, Evette, Mari, Michelle, and Mosesta, along with the entire crew at East River. Your care, patience, and dedication truly do not go unnoticed, and I am so grateful for everything you do each day. I am beyond happy with my choice and couldn't recommend Childtime more. 10/10 recommend. If you check them out and see this review, let them know Brittany O. sent you--the referral program is great as well!

My boys are excited to leave for school everyday and have happy faces when we go to pick them up. Friendships, creativity and responsibilities are fostered at this center and my boys have already learned so much from the short 5 months they have been here. The director is one of the nicest people I have ever met and the teachers throughout the school are wonderful and kind. Weekly lesson plans are posted for parents to see and cultivate actual learning rather than simply babysitting. My eldest is going to Kinder in the Fall and I am saddened he will not return for the upcoming school year but my youngest will be back after the Summer and I cannot be happier. ***I am a teacher myself so I know good educators when I see them***
