I was married here this past week and Samantha and her team helped to make this a memorable and smooth evening. I am a person who likes to plan out everything in advance so that when things happen, I already have a plan in place to be able to fix it, or to have someone else be able to fix it (in this case, I had everything set up to where I would be bothered as little as possible). Samantha was allowing me to meet up with her almost monthly to complete payments and to go over different details as they arose. She was extremely helpful when it came to planning and was amazing at responding to all emails (which I definitely did not get from numerous other vendors). Then throughout the day, she was extremely helpful in keeping they plan we created in motion. The price here is great! If you so chose, this event space allows you to maintain a budget in a medium to lower budget. You have options to have everything included as you prefer (they have different caterers and DJs they contract with) or you can only use the space if you so wish to do. They keep the bar as an open bar (meaning you give them the alcohol and they serve it) and they provide basically all of the non-alcoholic stuff. Samantha even brought in a local prickly pear syrup for prickly pear margaritas that was delicious. There were also different things you could add if you wanted them (upgrades for chairs, an extra getting ready room, a fire pit, etc.) We were allowed to bring in whatever decorations that we wanted, so an individual could lean into the rustic, Southwest theme they already had, or to spin what is there to match just a rustic theme (I personally leaned more towards the mountain/forest theme rather than the Southwest theme). There was a possibility that it would rain on the wedding day in which Samantha spoke with us about the day before. Together we made sure there was a plan in place in case it rained (it didn't so we were able to get married on the lawn). Everything that evening went really smoothly. If I have any tips for future weddings - bring bug spray. Events are mostly outside, at the base of a mountain... you want the bug spray. This event space very much matched everything that I would look for in planning a wedding. It gave me the freedom to do as I wanted creatively, but also assisted in providing structure to maintain the plan I had in place, or fill in some gaps that I was missing. I strongly recommend using the Corona Ranch as an event space and I hope that many groups will have wonderful parties here in the future. read more

Corona Ranch has shown a shameful dark side during Covid. I am an MOH in a wedding that was scheduled for this month. 25 days out from the wedding the bride receives a call that they have to "postpone" the wedding. This timeline is unacceptable. In addition to that they said they could not hold their event until the virus was under 3%. This could be another 6 months. They are refusing to hold the wedding even if the guest count was under 50. They are offering ZERO solutions and are truly being cruel during this difficult time. read more

If you're looking for a rustic wedding venue that really accentuates the feel of Tucson and Southwest culture, then look no further. Corona Ranch is a wonderful place for a wedding. Its location in the Catalina Foothills adds breathtaking views to the experience. Does it have its shortcomings? Sure. The second, larger parking lot isn't paved, the mesquite tree bleeds unsightly sap and there are cracks in the pavement on the main outdoor patio. Some people might be turned off by this, but to me it gives the place charm. Not all of us are looking for that venue that looks like it could be in a Wedding Planner-type movie. What does it offer? Well, you can bring in your own food and alcohol which will save you a bundle. You can also bring in any outside vendor you want (DJ, caterers, entertainment, seating equipment, cutlery, etc.), but they also have fairly priced working arrangements with certain vendors to make this aspect of the planning easier. The venue can easily accommodate 200 people inside, which means it can be utilized during anytime of the year, rain or shine, hot or cold. When the weather allows for it (which is about 90% of Tucson weekends) the outdoor patio with fire pit is very nice and gives guests room to spread out. Their pricing structure is clear and upfront; they don't really nickel-and-dime you with extra add-ons and services on top of the base price. The venue polishes up well and can be decorated very nicely. The manager, Samantha, is easy to work with and helpful. If you're a fan of charm and Southwest culture, definitely make a site visit to Corona Ranch. Note: If you decide to choose this venue, read the contract carefully with an eye of how you want to use the space before signing. The contract is straightforward and clear, but if you see language you don't like or think could present an issue and would like to modify, Samantha is very reasonable. This can help prevent miscommunications, false expectations and headaches during the wedding planning. read more

First, this review is based on an experience three years ago when my mom got married here. I know that they must have chosen this venue based on price alone as they were on a tight budget (and shouldn't have been getting married in the first place--different story for another day). The day before their wedding (June 30th, 2006) was a wet one in Tucson. Everyone in the wedding party went here to rehearse and it was an okay place. It wasn't like the fancy wedding places I would have chosen, but it was my mom's taste as she was having a hill billy -- er, I mean, "cowboy" themed -- wedding. It was Southwestern-y feeling, for sure. Her minister didn't even rehearse as the ground was too wet to practice on. No one working there insisted that we go ahead with a rehearsal to make the wedding went off without a hitch (ha! Irony). Instead, they kept to themselves until the "rehearsal" was over with. The next day, the storms came even harder just before the ceremony. No one working there offered to dry off the seats for the guests; we had the ushers do it. No indoor options were arranged or even avaliable for that matter. My mom had her joke of a wedding, cowboy hats on all the men and all. We all went inside where the reception was to be held. It was pretty basic. If they had done something to the chairs, it would have made a spectacular change and even looked a little classier. Instead, we were all seated on plain metal folding chairs -- fitting, I suppose, for the Cowboy wedding. The people who catered the wedding (Golden Corral, of all places!) weren't worth making note of, but I'm going to. They served up the food, but for the bridal party, well my sister the other bridesmaid, they said she only had the option of ____ instead of the white meat chicken she was pointing to. Had I known this took place, I would have reminded them that my mom was the one paying them to stand there and be rude (and everything else as her husband is a cheap bastard), so they could at least be nice enough to the bride's daughters. People enjoyed the open bar and a lot of drunks took it upon themselves to act stupid. The entire time I was wondering where the hell the people running this place were to put a limit on the number of drinks people could get, or to at least lasso the drunks still parading about the dancefloor picking up the flower girl and tossing her around. She giggled the whole time, but I'm sure she'll have strange flashbacks later in life. Anyways, this place is okay if you don't have the funds to have a big fancy wedding (or don't want one, for that matter). However, it's not somewhere I would choose to marry. read more

Sam was an amazing help with everything! I'm the classic overpreparer and would email her all the time and not only did she always respond in a timely manner, she never made me feel like I was bothering her. Her professional input on certain details really helped us make final decisions on numerous items. On the day of wedding, she did everything to ensure the groom and I were stress-free and never thirsty! ;-) The pricing was more than fair and DJ Herm was amazing! I got married here a week ago and I cannot say enough good things about it. It was affordable, it was beautiful, and it all came together without any problems. Everyone on staff is excellent--from the owner to the in-house event planner to the bartenders. We had everything we needed and then some. I'm still receiving compliments about how beautiful the ceremony was (we didn't decorate anything, just used the landscaping as a backdrop), how wonderful the food was (one of the three choices given by the venue), and how much fun it was (the DJ is also one provided by the venue). *My wedding wasn't western themed, and no one complained about the metal folding chairs (which you have the option of decorating anyway).* read more

This review is based on a phone interview and a tour of the facilities. We did not end up using Corona Ranch for our weddings site I will list pros and cons: Pros: price included: one bedroom for the night, ceremony and reception site use until 11pm, white table cloths, tables, chairs, cake cutting, buffet catering, free bartender (BYOB), music for 5 hours, tax tips and gratuity. Does not include minister, cake , photographer, decorations. It was interesting they were pretty flexible offering 400 dollars off if you didn't want the DJ, and if you wanted to bring your own catering and not use theirs they would take off UP TO 10$ a person. Cons: Only colored table cloth was white, they did not offer any selection of centerpieces or colored linens. (as mose "inclusive" wedding sites do.) Paper napkins (hard to believe!) We were unable to look at the type of plates, silverware, cups etc that would be provided (not even a picture!). We were told to go visit the restaurants if we wanted to see them. We were responsible for all the decorating of the ceremony site and reception site, which were extremely basic and unremarkable. Chairs were cheap folding chairs. They didn't provide the option to upgrade to chair covers. Dining hall was very plain, ordinary and just plain boring, and needed serious decoration. But this was the kicker: There was NO place for the wedding party to get ready. They suggested we use the lobby bathrooms, or the free bedroom that was provided. I just imagined the disaster of me, my fiance, and the 6 of our groomsmen/bridesmaids all getting dressed in one room. The tour guide rudely suggested "you could rent another room". What caused me to give this site such a low rating was THE LACK OF SERVIE. First off they kept bragging about how this place was the most affordable and all inclusive site in all of Tucson. And kept claiming things that were obviously lies such as "we are the only place in Tucson that includes tax and gratuity" I called beforehand to get more information and book a tour, the man on the phone was VERY RUDE, as I was asking questions about the facilites he said "if you would stop interupting me I'll get to that" (excuse me for being excited about my wedding!), additionally he said 15 minutes into our conversation "I have other people I need to call, I'll have to let you go, and call you later" Which makes me wonder if the employees here guy don't have more than 15 minutes to talk to me, what sort of service will we get during the wedding? The whole time it felt like A CARE SALESMAN was trying to pressure us into using this site. He even said "If you book before the end of this month (9 days) I'll get you a discount" I was quoted 56$ a head for a 100 guest wedding. I wanted to schedule it in January (in Tucson the off season) and was offered $2 off per person. A marriage on a weekday (instead of a Saturday) also got you $2 off per person. Then the kicker was "if you book with us right now will give you a discount of $6 dollars per person." Like I said high pressure. So a total of 4,600 for 100 people. So in my opinion if you want to feel like you are getting swindled into getting married in a bare bones facility you should booked here. Or for the same price get married at the Hilton (quoted 4,000 dollars + 660 ceremony site fee (with equal if not more included and higher quality) once again for 100 people in January on a Sunday). We ended up booking with Saguaro Buttes, (more pricey 7k + 550 bartending fee, but in the end fantastic and beautiful) read more

I just attended (and participated in) the wedding of a couple close friends here. In short, it was a wonderful experience and the staff/ownership was pleasant, flexible, and accommodating all along! We did have some slight difficulty with setup the night before the wedding, but it was no big deal and all problems were addressed without the least bit of attitude. Plus, they had already given the wedding party a great deal and a lot of leeway in how to plan the event. Especially worth mentioning is the fact that Corona Ranch doesn't try to gouge its guests on mandatory service contracts and all the other add-ons that event facilities are known to force on people. Having worked in hospitality, service, and meeting planning for the better part of my adult life, I have to give these guys kudos and let them know that everyone seemed very happy with the facility and service we received. Attended a friends weeding here a few weeks back. It's out of town yet not to far from home. I loved the parking lot as I was able to park away from everyone else. The grounds look natural yet not to perfect. I'm almost jealous of the lawn but glad I don't have to pay for the upkeep. My friends choose to have an open bar (which was awesome and well staffed) so i had to take a taxi. They were very nice about letting me keep my car their overnight. read more

I was in a wedding that was at this location back in March on the 16th. It was simply amazing. The staff was helpful and fun. The bride didn't have to worry about a thing while everything was going on. They made it so simple. Such a beautiful place to have a wedding and the location was breath taking. It was awesome and I know the bride and groom will be forever grateful for the job the staff did at Corona Ranch Tucson. Thanks to all those who helped make their day possible! read more

The new owner was very unprofessional. We decided not to go with this venue because her lack of getting back to us and all the stress she was causing us. There are so many better locations with better deals. This one seemed like it would be a great deal till we looked around. There are places that include chair covers in their price and cake and flowers too which this location doesn't. I think this place is over priced for the lack of class that you get. The cement is cracked so you cant really have anyone outside. We wanted extra space to dance.I heard they are having alot of problems also. I reccomend to run from this location. read more

My husband and I got married on March 14th at Corona Ranch Tucson. I can honestly say, next to choosing to marry one another, selecting Corona Ranch as our wedding venue was the best decision we made for our wedding. The level of customer service we received was utterly above and beyond what we paid for, and I will be eternally grateful to Samantha and her staff for everything they did to make that day such a beautiful experience and a memory that I will treasure for the rest of my life. We wanted a traditional wedding with all of the traditional amenities, but we were on a very strict budget. It's only because of Corona Ranch's fair and straight-forward pricing that we were able to have everything we wanted and still maintain our budget. Additionally, they are very trustworthy and no-nonsense in how they conduct business, so with Corona you never have to worry about last minute fees or changes to your contract. The grounds are stunning, the views are breath-taking, and the buildings have the most unique, rustic flare that was just perfect for our wedding day. We chose the venue more than a year in advance, and over the course of the year, I probably emailed Samantha over thirty times with various questions, etc (sorry Samantha! I blame my type A tendencies!). She was always SO kind, thoughtful, and professional in her responses and did so much to help me feel organized and prepared on my wedding day. In fact, our officiant backed out just a few weeks before our wedding date which was an overwhelming problem to solve, and when I asked Samantha her advice, she made me feel so much better, and completely took over all of the problem-solving and searching so I wouldn't have to stress about it. I want to emphasize that this was not at all her responsibility or part of any service we paid for; this is just an example of how Corona Ranch conducts business. They GENUINELY want every bride and groom to have a wonderful experience and go completely above and beyond to make it happen. In fact, when I found out that Samantha had been ordained in case of emergencies like these, I leaped at the chance to have her officiate our wedding. She did an absolutely amazing job, and charged me less than a fourth of what our original officiant had quoted. The day of my wedding went so smoothly; everything was coordinated perfectly, and I was able to relax, let go, and enjoy every moment of the day. Our ceremony and reception were everything I dreamed they could be. Honestly, choosing Corona Ranch is the best choice anyone could make for their wedding day. read more

My daughter was married at Corona Ranch Tucson on March 31, 2012, and many of our guests have said it was the greatest wedding they ever attended!! Everything was perfect, and manager/wedding planner, Samm, and her staff did a superior job from beginning to end. The ranch was built in 1935 and has an Old West flavor and is a breathtaking place for a wedding....the grass, fountain, patio.....are all maintained well and add to the ambiance of the site. Samm and her staff were incredible to work with....allowing us the flexibility to do everything we wanted to do, offering advice when asked, going over and above to help make the event a total success. The pricing was very fair; being able to purchase and take one's own liquor as well as being able to do one's own decorating and flowers were two money-saving perks. This wedding at Corona Ranch holds nothing but fantastic memories for our entire family. read more
