Don't bother!!! I've been eating at la Madeleine for 20 years. I've come to this location once before and I found terrible service. I figured since restaurants are needing business and the 15% occupancy would help them be more attentive today. It took 5 minutes to get three people to put lettuce in a side salad to go container. We ended up leaving since my husband hadn't even gotten to order. I hope that there are some changes to the staffing here because the food is usually great. Not impressed at all.. we eat at La Madeleines all over Texas and this is by far the worst service and food we've experienced. My potatoe cake was not even warm. There were no soup spoons out, and I watched as my sons croissant sat on the counter 5 minutes before I finally took my spoon number up and asked if I could have it. read more

We came here on our way out of town to have a nice last breakfast with our big family to celebrate my mother's birthday. It was a whim, and the staff at La Madeleine went above and beyond to help me throw our quick birthday breakfast together. There were 13 of us, including my 3 crazy kiddos, and since there were no parties scheduled for the private conference/party room they opened that up for us to use! The food tasted so delicious! This is the first time I've been to La Madeline and I know the next time we visit, we will definitely be coming back! I had an omelette with spinach, tomatoes, Parmesan, and sausage. The ingredients were perfectly spread out and the omelette was fluffy. I even picked up some pastries and cookies for the road. I highly suggest downloading the app to your phone because you get first-time perks and discount. It's a small discount but with a family as large as ours, every little bit helps. Lots of dirty tables. Coffee was empty, creamers were empty. Very slow and quite. The ladies that work here are nice but they were just playing on their cell phones. No care to actually take care of the place. Food is good but I wouldn't come back due to the lack of care. read more

Great food but I ordered a fruit cup with my meal and it was missing from my order when it was brought out. After I got done eating, I asked for my money back since I never received this portion of my order. The manager on duty gave my money back no problem, but never apologized for their error. When I asked for my original receipt back, he just wanted to look it up in the computer and print out a new one instead of walking 6 feet to pick it up off the counter. No apology, no remorse of messing up an order. Not a friendly or good customer service vibe here. Will not be returning. Also - all the tables were cleared off by were not wiped down. (Crumbs and every table) I watched the guy clear off our plates and walk away while I was waiting to get my money back. Not following COVID protocols here. read more

This place is one of the best restaurant I've ever been to you. I just discovered it a couple days ago in Dallas, and I live closer to Tyler so I drove here to try it out with my wife. The service is great, the food is wonderful, the atmosphere takes you to France, and is very clean. I have the French onion soup twice (one of my all time favs) gets a 9.5 I had the ch8cken salad sandwich.. gets 10 French dip sandwich gets a 9 tge bread, butter and jelly makes up for any lack. read more

My husband and I are here shortly after 10am on a slow day, we had no direction on where or how to order, we kind of wandered around clueless until we figured it out ourselves! It's better than the normal IHOP and McDonald's breakfast rut Tyler is in! We had hot sandwiches for brunch and tomato basil soup and we only spent $20! I'll start this out by saying I've been trying to reach the store since our visit, very interesting that none of the online websites or contact information, other than calling the store directly, are available. Brought my Mom to La Madeleine 3 years ago, pre-covid. It was awesome. Went there last night (5/20/22) about 5pm. Very disappointing. There were only 2 people dining when we arrived, and all the staff were leaning against the counter chatting with the cooking crew. The bakery display was almost empty. The counter server did not know what wines (by winery or type) they served. We sat down at 5:19pm. Mom's order arrived fairly promptly, and was pretty good. My order (the Salmon) arrived about halfway through her meal; the only thing that was even *warm* on the plate was the rice. Took it back to the kitchen, and waited for a replacement. When it came out, the food was mostly warm, not hot; 1/3 of the Salmon was still cool. We were there for 40 minutes; the 4 top table by us stayed un-bussed the entire time, and the tables around us were visibly not wiped down. Again, VERY DISAPPOINTING, and we probably won't be returning. read more

Odd notion. French countryside cuisine with a touch of Horn and Hardart. Don't let the trays put you off! The chicken a la Madeleine is tasty, with a delicate mushroom sauce and a nice side of tangy rice and fresh broccoli florets. French bread of several varieties, including a sharp sour dough, are served like condiments, presumably to mop up the sauces. My partner had a very lovely quiche, buttery and stuffed with chicken and broccoli. It was savory, but probably needed a trace more seasoning. Desserts all looked delicious, and the Sacher torte was as it should be. Nothing to complain about here. I'll return for another tasting in the near future. read more

Wow! A neat, almost-hidden gem in Tyler. I've driven past it many times this past year without knowing of its existence. Suddenly one day after getting off work at 9pm, I did a Yelp search for places to eat that were open late, to see if there was any place new for me to discover. They stay open here until 10pm, so I had to hurry. I came at a good time, when they weren't too busy. Parking was easy. The restrooms were well-maintained & had at least 2 stalls, one for handicapped access, & it also had a diaper changing table built into the wall. The inside was very nice. Well-lit so I could read. I saw several vegetarian-friendly items on the menu. For part of it you can slide a tray across the counter, like a buffet, where you can ask them to put various foods on your plate. I got a sampler platter with half a spinach quiche, a cup of bow-tie pasta with red & green veggies in it (cold, salad-like item), and a cup of some hot kale and lentil soup. I also got a $5 mimosa, which is neat that they let you mix it yourself. They give you a bottle of champagne & a bottle of orange juice, & you can add each to your own taste to a wine glass. It was all delicious! My ticket was around $16. Someone also brought out a dessert sampler plate for me. I think it was included in the sampler platter, since I didn't remember specifically ordering a dessert. The 3 desserts on the plate were all delicious! There was a vanilla pudding in a shotglass-sized cup (square-shaped), with some layers of mandarin oranges & blueberries. That was probably my favorite, & it was challenging to get all the pudding out of the corners. There was also an eclair with vanilla cream in the middle & drizzled with chocolate sauce. And there was also a sweet, breakfast-ish muffin that was orange-flavored with some vanilla & orange cream in the middle. I look forward to returning there in the future! read more

I've been in contact with la madeleine since (01/25/19), because somehow another email "became" associated with my account, thus locking me out of my account. So over this 12 day span, la madeleine's IT/app support barely responded to my emails, (once a day, if im lucky), and I'm the one who had to continue to reach out..finally I got a responds saying "Hi, Thank you for reaching out to us about this; we are happy to assist. This happened because our system keeps track of the number of accounts individual users have on the same device. Each device can only log into two different accounts. Once that limit has been hit, 90 days will have to pass until you can log in with another. It looks like maybe someone else logged into their LevelUp account using your device. I've gone ahead and increased the number of devices currently allowed to access your account by one. Please try logging in now, with our apologies for the inconvenience. Please let me know if you have any other questions or if there is anything else that I can help you with! Best, LevelUp Support" As you can see I was told that the number of devices allowed has been increased, which would allow me to access my account again. But of course as la madeleine's IT/app support proved in the pass, you cant believe anything they say, and it didnt work. So I reached back out saying that I'm still not able to log-into my account, then I received an email saying " Hi, Thank you for reaching out again. We are going to escalate this to our senior team. Thank you for your patience while they gather all the appropriate information. Best, LevelUp Support" Then 3 days go by, and I get an email saying the following: "Hello, After review, this account will not be available for use moving forward. Any additional accounts found linked to this account will be denied access. Any additional inquiry regarding this account or linked accounts will result in reiteration of this message. Sincerely, LevelUp Senior Support" And every time I reach out, they resend this email..This is absolutely outrageous, and is the worst customer service, I'v have ever experienced! I will NEVER go to another la madeleine cafe, because in order to use any of the perks that they give out you have to use the semi clashing app, and if something goes wrong, "AND IT WILL" you are left up the IT/app support, which will get you nowhere. read more

I agree with Darin's review. Somewhere along the way, something changed. This chain USED TO BE great at hiding the "corporate" aspects of the business. Each store felt unique, handcrafted, and comfortable. The people were interested in providing a great experience and the smell of great food wafted through the place and out of the doors, drawing you in. The restaurants were beloved neighborhood meeting places. It was the very definition of a well-run small chain. "Soulless" is a great and apt description now--as the corporate clinical nature is barely veiled and on display everywhere you look. I understand portion controls, but I don't want to see my tiny foil packet of pre-chopped chicken unceremoniously dumped on my Caesar salad. Darin's comment about "where is the Disney" is spot on. And whereas the old locations looked authentic--as if you could picture the French craftsman building them from hand-hewn beams and solid oak floors--the new location looks simply ersatz. It's like a giclee print of a Picasso--it captures the image but not the soul of the original. As for the Tyler location, this is my second and last visit. They lost my order as I waited 30 minutes for scrambled eggs and bacon that should have arrived in 5 minutes. They were kind and apologetic, but the experience just wasn't anything special. Even the croissants are a shadow of the past. And don't even get me started on the house made preserves, which used to have texture and were packed it little tubs. Now it's just a bland, slimy goo, pumped out of a container like ketchup. YUK!! Judging by their store closings in key locations (like Rice Village in Houston) and lack of diners whenever I visit, La Madeleine seems like it's in a death spiral. I hate to hasten a demise--if that is happening--but the reasons are easy to see by long time patrons such as myself. I used to think it was just growing pains and that La Madeleine would find itself again. That isn't happening. It's beyond a shame--to flush a business with this much goodwill down the drain is CRIMINAL! After 30 years of fandom--I'm over you LM. read more

What is a bakery without pastry? Stated she was only one there Sat a.m. no time to bake. Decided to run errands & return later. Still nothing in pastry/bakery area except yesterday's creme Brule. 3 different people came in, looked empty display & left. Ordered chicken w/mushroom/rice. It was very good! 3rd Sat morning I've gone in to find no pastry. Won't return as you can get chicken anywhere. Other LaMadelines have beautiful pastry & bake goods! Tyler sad. read more

La Madeline Country French café has superb service and delicious food. The portions a good size, the food is fresh and hot. I HIGHLY recommend the breakfast. We will definitely be coming back in the future. My family all chose separate meals from breakfast, Pesto Chicken pasta, sampler and the French dip. All which we enjoyed. Very filling. read more

Like many restaurants in Tyler, recruiting good and reliable employees presents a challenge. So because of an unfortunate staffing situation, we had a rare series of complications occur with our breakfast this morning at La Madeleine's, a favorite after-church restaurant of ours. Manager Mark went above and beyond with his apology for our inconvenience. But then he completely surprised us with a very gracious gesture. No bread service. So I ordered a loaf to have sliced . Rather than putting back into the plastic bag, they put the slices on a large plate???? Then we get to the register and we ask for cups for our drinks. 2 plastic cups and one glass. The glass had food in it. I asked for another one. They pulled one out of the dishwasher glass holder. Dirty still after washed. Threw a plastic cup across the counter. Took 17 minutes to get 2 slices of cinnamon French toast. Only one staff with gloves on, staff clearing tables and bringing food- no gloves not washing hands. The place was very dirty. Last time we will eat here. read more

A dear Dallas friend's son started out of college with LaMadeleine...actually was sent to France to study their menu and philosophy. This was in the 1990's. I have watched these restaurants go downhill in a variety of locations, and there are 2 in Austin that should shut their doors in shame. BUT !!! what a pleasant surprise when we visited this Cafe' had delicious coffee and breafkast as well as wonderful personal service from the staff as we lingered in the lovely atmosphere. I am a 30 year customer having spent probably thousands in the Dallas area at this chain, and loved their food. This Tyler location though, something is just not right. The food is ok but the ordering process is just screwy. We went yesterday, and after reviewing the menu was asked at the front of the line what we would like. After answering her question she told us to order at the register at the END of the line. So we wait through the line, get to the cashier, placed the same order with him that we placed verbally earlier with the girl, and then he told her what to fix, same thing we had told her 10 minutes earlier. La madeline's food is great, but it's a chain so I knew their food would be great. The service here is sub par. I feel like none of the employees were trained on their job. You can tell it's chaos in the back on the weekends, but yet there's a lot of employees also just standing around. Their to go order service is also having problems. I ordered 1.5 hours before I was going to pick up my order, even called to verify they put a particular salad dressing and would have it ready on time. Then I get there and they tell me to wait in line even though the order was already paid for online. When I finally got there they still had the wrong salad dressing. read more
