Ordered delivery so I can't speak on ambiance. Ordered through Uber Eats and the arrival time was very quick and the food was warm! We got chips and guac to start. For $17 the portion size is amazing. It is a large tub of guac and more than enough chips! I really enjoyed the guac, it was very flavorful with the pomegranate seeds. For tacos I got carne asada, fish and octopus! The carne asada was ok, good but didn't blow me away. I really enjoyed the octopus, it was cooked very well with lots of flavor. My favorite was the fish. This was so good, lots of flavor!
Came to Pilsen specifically for La Luna and it did not disappoint! The chilaquiles were so good and paired perfectly with the drinks. Everything was flavorful, the drinks were great, and the whole vibe made it such a fun brunch spot.
I had a good time at La Luna! It was my first visit even though I've passed this restaurant hundreds of times lol. I kept it simple and got the enchiladas verde and the accurately-hyped Luna potatoes. Everything was amazing - the crunch on those potatoes is unforgettable. Try and go at an off-peak time for the best experience - we were there on a Thursday evening and it was pretty crowded.
La Luna was sooooo good. It was super quick, so it's a good spot for if you want to be in and out. Everything we got was amazing. I loved both the tacos I ordered and the chicken flautas. I was expecting to need food but the two tacos and flautas filled me up. The margs were also great. Tasted super fresh and was a great balance of sweet and sour. Can't wait to go back here!!!!!
Great place to grab dinner or drink before a Thalia Hall show. It's right across the street and the food and drinks hit the spot. I've been twice and both times I was very happy with my well made mezcal cocktails. This time I focused a little more on the food and my husband and I wanted to try a lot of stuff so here's how it went down. 1. Mezcal Paloma 2. Mata Miel 3. Salsa Flight 4. Pork Belly Taco 5. Al Pastor Taco 6. Sweet Potato 7. Meijillones La Luna 8. Taziki Steak Taco I'll break it down. Drinks are wonderful and beautifully presented. Salsa flight is fine, didn't knock my socks off other than the mango salsa and the chips are a bit denser than I prefer, but that's just my preference. Tacos were mostly wonderful. Liked all the seasonal specials with my favorite being the sweet potato. That was a shocker. Both my husband and I are big carnivores so didn't expect us to both choose it as our favorite. Pork Belly I thought would be my favorite, but it was further down on my rankings. It was a little bland and slightly tough. Loved, loved, loved the homemade pita tortilla on the tzatziki taco. Fun take on a gyro. My least favorite were the mussels and I think the reason partially had to do with fact that I didn't like how dry they were. My dumbass wasn't aware all the sauce was at the bottom with the rice and I probably should have mixed it all up. Guessing that was my rookie mistake, but PSA for the rest of you.
Lovely atmosphere with beautifully colored interior design. Portions were large, especially the appetizer/shared plates. Really impressed at how well all of the meat was cooked. Service was a bit slow but friendly and our food came out at a good pace. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a slightly more elevated but casual Mexican spot in Pilsen!
Service was a bit slow to start but once I placed my order things went quick. Came for happy hour and the food was amazing as usual. Say on the patio because the weather was perfect and I was all alone close to the door, just how I like it
Cute spot in Pilsen! Went with a group of 6 on a Sunday night with a reservation, otherwise we probably wouldn't have been able to get a table. We got the salsa trio and guacamole to start and both were good just over priced. The chips were super fresh! I got 3 tacos for dinner: carne asada, fried fish and al pastor. The carne asada was a little dry unfortunately but the other two were good. Street parking in the area, metered as well as some free side streets.
I always love coming here! My friend and I stopped by on Halloween around 5:30pm without a reservation, and we were seated right away since it wasn't too busy. We ordered the carne asada tacos and the salsa flight, both were delicious! The portions were generous, and they loaded up the tacos with plenty of meat and extra onions just like I asked. Our server was super attentive the entire night, checking in often and keeping our drinks coming. We ordered a few cocktails and shots while watching all the costumes out on the street from our window seat, such a fun Halloween vibe. We ended up staying for about four hours just enjoying the food, drinks, and atmosphere. Highly recommend, amazing food, great service, and good energy every time I visit!
I had been wanting to try this place but every time I wanted to go, it was packed. Finally made it in! This place has the best fish and steak tacos! Drinks were also amazing. Great ambiance, fun place for just about any occasion. A little pricey but definitely worth it.
La Luna was alright. The guacamole is very fresh, with pomegranates. The quesabirria was hard to pick up so I ended up eating it with a fork and knife. Tacos were good, and they have a good happy hour with $3.75 tacos. The tres leches chocolate was experimental and was decent. The restaurant seemed to cater to a white crowd, so if that's your thing go there. The cocktails were too sour.
Checked out this Mexican restaurant that has a modern touch to authenticity. It may not be quite authentic but it's more like an update to it. La Luna is among the many options in Pilsen. A lot of interesting combinations. The prices may be kind of high which is the only bad thing to be honest. Basic in concept. It's another one of these modern takes on classic Mexican. There's some fancy looking trickery but it all ends up on a plate. Gets crowded. There's hardly ever any room on the inside. A lot of people still willing to overpay for average. It's about $14 for a margarita. This is made with agave, Cointreau, lime, and Milagro tequila. Food has a few vegetarian choices. It's about $5 each for the Cauliflower Tacos. Certainly is small but filling. These come with onions and romesco sauce. Other things on the menu include ceviche. There's lots for those who like seafood. For sure it's one of the popular places in the area. It's closed Mondays. There's meaty options but there's some things for vegetarians.
Six of us came in around 5 to celebrate Birthday. The place was half full so got seated right away. We started with the guac and the elote. Both were good. and the chips were fresh. We started with a pitcher of margaritas....about 5 glasses. They were decent. They refiled the chips. We all had various tacos and the mole chicken. with sides of rice and refried beans. The beans were amazing. Nice a creamy. The fish tacos were a handful. a nice bit of heat and batter fried tilapia. The pork belly for me was the best. A nice portion with really yummy pork belly. I had too much. I had to being my al Pastor taco home.

CHURROOOO CHICKEN & WAFFLES? HORCHATA ESPRESSO MARTINI? Pleaseeeee build a La Luna in every state. Not one complaint here. The service was great, they cook behind the bar and it's very clean. I love how cute it is in the restaurant too. 10/10 Also you must try to salsa trio, I loveeee the burnt pineapple salsa. read more

The drinks were definitely a highlight--strong, sweet, and absolutely delicious. The tacos were another favorite, packed with flavor and definitely worth ordering. The burger was a pleasant surprise, too! We weren't expecting much from it, but it ended up being delicious. Great food, great drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Definitely a spot we'd come back to! read more

The vibes are amazing. I had the Paloma elote, queso, guacamole and sala flight. So so so good! Our server was super attentive. The only thing I have to say is that you NEED to arrive early to find parking. I definitely was not familiar with the area and drove around for a second! So be warned :) read more

What drew me to La Luna was the ambiance, which delivered, but the food delivered even more! Super delicious! I am very picky about refried beans and tend to judge Mexican spots based on that. La Luna's are amazing. Our server was super kind and provided great recommendations, the food was also pretty quick. read more
We stopped by La Luna for a quick bite before a show at Thalia Hall. The wait staff got us quickly seat outside. It was a Saturday night, so indoor seating was pretty much entirely booked for reservations, so if you wanted to guarantee a seat on weekends, I recommend a reservation. We got flautas and some tacos, which were pretty decent. The prices are a little high for my tastes but this is also in the heart of the Pilsen area, so not surprising. One thing I wasn't really a fan of is that the menus are available via a QR code where you're unable to actually order through the online platform and can only view the menu and pay your bill. You're charged 2-3 dollars when trying to check out through this platform, a fee that can only be avoided by specifically asking for an employee to do the checkout instead. I don't like electronic-only menus but I don't mind it if the restaurant has the entire process (ordering AND payment) through the platform. Having something just to display a menu to me and then charge me extra for that just leaves a bad taste. read more
This is a super cute, modern take on Mexican food and a good place to go if you looking for the perfect sit and chat atmosphere. On Thursdays they have a happy hour margarita flight for 15 dollars. The flight glasses are small so in total you're getting about the same drink as one normal sized margarita so not really a deal but a cute concept. But they also have really good 3$ empanadas which are 100% worth it. And to top it off the service here was great so I will be going back for another happy hour. read more
I will be thinking about this meal until the next time I come back. We made a reservation in advanced and thank goodness we did because on a Sunday before a show at Thalia Hall, this place was BUSY! We were promptly seated and you can tell they mean business because the service here is efficient but quick. Place is a bit loud but the vibes are great, energetic, young, and full of life. To start we ordered a watermelon margarita and Paloma. The watermelon margarita was one of the best cocktails I've ever had, incredibly refreshing and that salt rim was glorious. For appetizers we had the salsa flight and man they really load up that bucket with tortillas. The pineapple salsa and green salsa were our favorites. For the main meal we ordered quesabirria (you MUST order this, I kept stealing bites from my husband but should have ordered these myself as a meal) plus tacos: fish (good), al pastor (fine but dry?), and carne asada (absolutely phenomenal). read more
La Luna is such a fun spot in Pilsen - great vibes, fast service, and delicious food. We had the tacos, guac, and elote, and everything was fresh and packed with flavor. The margaritas are strong, refreshing, and dangerously good. Definitely recommend going for the pitcher - it's worth it if you're with a group. All around, a great spot for a casual night out. read more

Food is delicious and comes out relatively quickly. Service is always great and I love the environment, colorful without feeling like an assault to the eye. They play the music loud enough to enjoy but low enough to still have a conversation. read more

Went here for brunch with a bunch of alumni after a service day. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. Service was a bit slow, but worth the wait! Quite a few items were unavailable unfortunately, which we arrived as they opened so a bit strange to start the day without items, but I don't run a restaurant so The guac and elote were really good! I got the quesabirria and potatoes that were really good!! For drinks I got the watermelon margarita, I was sad I didn't get the slice of watermelon like I saw in photos, but it was nice and strong. I got a sip of the mango one which was also good. I will definitely be back to try a few other things! Excited to try out the empanadas, queso, and skirt steak, those all looked sooooo good! read more

I had dinner at La Luna last night with some friends. I love that you can make a reservation. If you make a reservation on OpenTable it puts a hold on your card. But you can call them and make a reservation, no charge. They open at 4pm. I love the vibe and decor inside. It's December, so there was fun Christmas decor. They do have happy hour, but it ends at 6pm. I need to come back for HH. I had two mezcal palomas and a carne asada taco and an al pastor taco. Fairly big tacos and very tasty! As a table we ordered veggie queso fundido, guac and the salsa trio. Yes yes and yes. I will be ordering all of this again. The service is efficient and the staff was very nice. I LOVE that you can pay and split the bill very easily via an app. It made divvying up the bill so seamless. read more

We came here mid day on a Saturday and it was busy but we got a table without waiting. It was very loud in here but they allow kids. I got the chicken flautas which were good but the chicken on the inside was a little too crunchy and made it had to eat. We also got guacamole and it had pomegranate seeds which were so good in it. Overall it was good but not great. I also got a michelada and have had many in my life this one was good.. read more
UUUUUF QUE CHIMBA ES ESTE LUGAR. Came here with my family and gf to have dinner one night. We were pretty full walking in so we just split the carne asada fries. This plate was sooooo damn good. Like loaded fries are one of the keys to joy but Luna had me dancing in the moonlight with this one. I ain't never had potatoes so crisp with tender meat and a delicious sauce like that. I also had the coquito cuz it's the holidays so try it when you can. In any case La Luna is a cool spot with amazing food and great service. read more
Tortilla making class at La Luna! 10/10 experience from booking, to class, to the delicious food. La Luna hosts a tortilla making class twice a month, on the 1st and last Tuesday. Class is $50 and includes up to 6-7 tacos (with all the toppings), a demo, and a margarita. I booked the class through Eventbrite where you can also see their upcoming events as well. I bought a parking spot on SpotHero which ended up being about a 5 minute walk from the restaurant. There is also street parking nearby. The class took place on the second floor of La Luna. We had the opportunity to learn from the chef himself. He taught us how to grind corn, what tortillas are made out of, and most importantly, showed us how to make our own tortillas. To make our own taco, the chef and staff offered three types of protein: pulled chicken (marinated in a red sauce, so yummy), steak, and grilled veggies for a vegetarian option. There were tons of toppings, fresh guacamole, sour cream, onions and cilantro, lettuce, etc. Staff were all super friendly and made it overall great experience. I haven't dined in just yet, but after how good the tacos tasted during class, I will definitely be visiting soon to dine in read more
This was a fun spot to go to with my friend! There's fun vibes, bold colors, and a nice mix of indoor/outdoor seating with wide open windows that let in a breeze. The drinks are solid, and the Piña Mango Ceviche was so yummy! Sweet, tangy, fresh, with big chunks of shrimp and avocado. Would 100% come back for that dish! My friend got al pastor and asada tacos also a hit! They came with free chips and both verde and rojo salsas (note: the red one's spicier). The chips weren't the crunchiest, but who's complaining when they're free? Music and ambiance were on point. Check it out! read more
All the food was very enjoyable and the plates look beautiful! It's a great spot in Pilsen to go for a weekend brunch. The mimosa was served with rose instead of normal sparkling white wine/champagne. The service was friendly and very quick. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays in cute decorations :) read more
I brought my sister here for her birthday. I found free street parking nearby. I was immediately sat upon arrival. The server introduced themselves and offered things to me while I waited for my sister. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and service was fast. The restaurant was brightly lit and moderately loud. Once my sister arrived we ordered drinks. I both had margarita, they weren't very strong but still good. We had the Salsa Trio and Guacamole. LOVED the guacamole and the pomegranate seeds added extra flavor. For entrees we both got the Entraña dish. The steaks were cooked perfectly but the potatoes were a little too crispy and there were a lot of potatoes. We really enjoyed our experience and will be back! read more
I'm very surprised that it took me this long to try La Luna. I've been wanting to make a reservation here for a while. We finally stopped in on a Sunday night for dinner. It's Christmas time so they had a bunch of beautiful decorations up. We started with their chips and salsa flight, which was really yummy and paired well with our tasty cocktails. I ordered the short ribs which were incredible and my boyfriend ordered quesabirria tacos which were so juicy and delicious. We had a great time. We'll def be back. read more
We came during happy hour and sat outside on the patio. Overall it was a good experience! If you've never been, I recommend it. A bit pricey but that is expected in the area. Even during happy hour unfortunately. They have activities and experiences some days during the week, like tortilla making classes, etc. I thought that was creative and cool. We ordered chips and dip flight, Paloma Pitcher (happy hour), birria tacos, and flautas! Everything was delicious and tasted even better together! The service was good as well, came over a few times to check in on us and made sure we were always doing good. The vibes and music was playing throughout our entire time there, good job on that. Since we sat outside, a lot of foot traffic but expected and it was not a bother either. If you've never been to La Luna, I recommend giving it a try. Personal Review: 7.4/10 read more
Cute spot! Nice trendy interior, premium mezcal cocktail delicious. Aguachile negro was really fresh and tasty. Flautas were crisp and flavorful. Quesabirria was ok, but you can get better elsewhere for a lower price point. Small restaurant and tables really close to each other. read more
Had great service today. Would recommend sharing a pitcher if you'll have 3 or more margaritas during your visit. The food was good, but not outstanding - hence 4 stars. I would recommend coming here for the drinks alone, strong pour - which is nice. read more
