I've been to Barcocina many times. It's a cute place with an amazing patio. The Saturday night we came, there happened to be an engagement party on the patio, and a dating event in the bar. Which left some tables open for dining. If we would have realized this before getting seated, I probably would've left. I wish the restaurant would have closed for the events or made us aware. It was very loud! We could not talk or hear each other at all. The food is good! We love the pineapple pork tacos & the bang bang shrimp tacos. I do wish the shrimp tacos had more of a slaw or something on them. The guacamole is really good & the chips are the perfect thickness & saltiness. I've had the elotes dip twice. Both times, not a lot of flavor. No drinks because we wanted to get out asap so we could enjoy our company & conversation. The bathroom situation is fantastic. Several private bathrooms down the hallway. Clean & spacious. Service was just ok, mostly because it was so loud & busy that our server couldn't communicate with us. We missed Cinco de Mayo this year so ventured to this place a few days later. Super cute restaurant/bar. I could tell that this place is a real vibe on the weekends. We sat at the bar and enjoyed happy hour. Our drinks were delicious. I got the spicy Margarita and it was delicious. For appetizers we tried the HH Guacamole and the Brussels Sprouts. We enjoyed the Brussels Sprout but were not a fan of the Guacamole. I think in Mexico they would call this Gringo Guacamole. My husband compared the guacamole to massed produced stuff at Costco. This place is so nice and I will be coming back to enjoy that patio during the summer. This establishment is in the heart of West Town with plenty of parking nearby. Our server kept disappearing for large intervals of time and when we had some requests on the food, she was getting annoyed and impatient. She wasn't even busy. The restaurant was kind empty. She kept hanging out by the bar and we had to go get her for our check and then later for paying our check as well. Ordered the truffle guacamole which was very basic. There was no flavor of truffle. Also ordered the cauliflower tacos which were extremely sweet. Also- maybe some like this- but the music was super loud. I came here to try their Taco Tuesday special with a margarita flight, chips & dip, and unlimited tacos. They offered 12 different tacos that represented various countries around the world, allowing you to taste "the globe" in tacos. It's very creative, and I enjoyed all the tacos I tried. My favorites were the bang bang cauliflower and Greek chicken. The total came out to around $45/person with tip. We didn't make a reservation and were seated outside, but I would recommend making a reservation just in case. The servers brought out tacos one at a time, similar to a Brazilian steak house, so you don't choose them beforehand. It was a lot of fun and well worth the price. I would come back again! We made reservations on one of the busiest nights, Valentines Day evening. We were greeted and seated right away. The ambiance was dark and festive, and I was surprised they played a lot of pop music. It seemed to take longer than expected to have a waitress take our order. We glanced at the Valentines menu and quickly realized that was the best deal. We eventually ordered our meal all at once. Including some mocktails that we were excited to try. The chops and salsa came out along with the guacamole first. We seemed to wait a bit before my appetizer of choice, the elote came out. Once it did, I was pleased with it. The steak and potato as the second course was ok. The meat was seasoned well. It was just the smallest of steak portions, plenty potatoes covered with lettuce. I enjoyed my steak tacos along with the churros. Overall I thought the meal was great. I could tell the vibes from the kitchen to the bar to the waitstaff was busy. Due to 2 separate events there were only a few tables open to people not attending an event. It was so loud in the restaurant due to the events that we regretted our decision to dine there. We ordered chips and guacamole and they came out the same time as our dinner (tacos). We did not request the chips and guacamole to come out first because we didn't think we had to since the chips and guacamole was an appetizer. My pet peeve is all the food coming out at once. I went on a Tuesday for taco Tuesday special which consist of unlimited Tacos a flight of three margaritas with an option to add a fourth for five dollars. The drinks were good. My favorite was the jalapeño margarita, which was great. The main reason I went, there was to try their Tacos. They were mediocre at best although it was a great deal. All you can eat Tacos. My favorite was the cauliflower Taco and the Steak Taco also. I would not recommend The chicken Tinga taco. Although I can't complain, I was full when I left Barcocina gets 2 stars because their Tacos were OK. If you were looking for a place to vibe or chill have drinks I definitely recommend stopping in I say go on a Tuesday so you can try different tacos. . I think the service was great. This place is spacious. There's globe seating out doors, the main restaurant floor and then a party room in the back. The staff were very friendly. A few girl friends and I came to for dinner Barcocina during our recent trip. We had an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. We booked an outdoor igloo for $75 per person (+tax & tip) which included huge portions of food & unlimited drinks for two hours. This was an incredible price in my opinion. First off the igloo was super cute, kept us very warm and the highlight was the speaker inside for us to connect and play our own music. This would be so perfect for a birthday, bachelorette party or any special occasion. The food was so so good! My favorites were the steak quesadilla and shrimp tacos. Those were must orders for sure! The cheeseburger was probably my least favorite but I loved the unique option. The spicy marg is a must if you like spicy. It had the perfect amount of heat. To top off this experience our server, Abby, was the best. She consistently made sure to check in on us and ensure the heat, food & drinks were all great. I was surprised this place was so quiet on a Sunday, we had such a great time! Drinks, food, service, you name it and it was good. If I lived nearby, I would be a regular here. We unfortunately showed up right after their brunch ended but it seemed like they had a really great brunch deal! I was not super hungry so I ordered the salmon bites and they were pretty small (haha picture shown) but I understood as it was an appetizer & not full meal. Even though it was a bit pricey. Walking in it was very spacious with lots of indoor and outdoor seating options, including the bars. The place wasn't too crowded considering I arrived around 5:20 during Happy Hour. I opted for outdoor seating, under a canopy for shade. My server let me know immediately I get a free flight with my order (I believe it's only for August). She only described the 4 margs as original, sweet (red), spicy, and smoky - but not the flavors or type of tequila or mezcal. Pretty good, and fairly strong! I ordered the brussel sprouts and yucca tots from the $5 Happy Hour menu. The food came out fairly quickly after ordering, but it did take the server to come back around so my friend could place her order when she arrived; which was about 10-15mins before Happy Hour ended. I didn't read the description on the big menu before ordering, so I was surprised to find the tots stuffed with cheese! Overall they lacked flavor and needed the red sauce that accompanied it to be enjoyable; but the crisp outside and soft interior was a nice texture combo. The brussel sprouts were delicious, nice balance of acidity and salt along with the pickled red onions, they could use a little less cheese. My friend ordered the elotes and said it was good it just needed more corn with overwhelming ratio of dairy & cheese in it. We also shared a $20 taco flight, 2 cauliflower & 1 shrimp bang bang, and 1 chicken. The cauliflower bang bang were a pleasant sweet flavor with non-mushy breading and in fact cauliflower which was a pleasant surprise. I only wish they had more non-soy vegetarian/vegan taco options. I'd definitely come back during Happy Hour for 1/2 price margs and try the taco salad next time; nice chill vibe and ambiance, with good menus options! read more

To start with the good, this spot has a huge patio with an outdoor bar that is a fantastic space during the summer. Definitely get the vibe that this is a spot to see and be seen and soak in the beach-club like vibes. Service was decently attentive and friendly. Unfortunately that's about it for Barcocina. Don't want to be harsh but these were the most bland tacos I've had in my life (numerous people at my table agreed with this for their different tacos as well). They actually tasted like nothing, which was super disappointing because the presentation looked great. My soft shells ripped causing ingredients to spill out as they didn't double up on the shells. Lastly these are so overpriced it's crazy. $16 for 3 tacos but wait the menu is "cash price only" so add 3% extra if you are paying with credit.... This is a digital world no one is paying with cash. This seems like a predatory business practice. $5.50 a taco before tax and tip is wild. Also this has become common but good to note - parties of 6 or more have a 20% service charge. Again, hate to be harsh, but between the prices and food quality you're better off going somewhere else at least for now. read more

It tasted better than I expected but definitely not worth the price. For the tacos, they gave it to me deconstructed - 3 small corn tortillas, a tablespoon of cilantro, a cup of meat and a 1/4 cup of cheese. No onions. Tacos did not taste good. Meat was dry. Got the truffle corn guacamole and never seen such a heaping plate of delicious guac with fresh, hot chips to dip. Did not really taste the truffle, but guac and corn was delicious. Stopped by for a quick bite today and I was really surprised and in a good way. I've seen this place open up in my area now for a few months. Just never got the chance to check it out. It's got a HUGE outdoor patio, which is great for the summer. Really great ambiance. I got take out of just the cauliflower tacos and they were SO delicious. They don't have a lot of vegetarian options and that's probably one of the reasons we haven't been here. On top of that, sometimes cauliflower tacos can be a bit bland... and so I kept my expectations low, but to my surprise the tacos were great. Good flavor and they had like a cheesy sauce to them. So good. Didn't really try much else, but they do have al pastor tofu tacos, yucca tots, brussel sprouts, and I assume they can make a veggie quesadilla. So more to try next time. I do wish they'd consider adding more taco or other veggie options. One thing I'll say is our order was mixed up, initially. We did order that cauliflower, but they first brought out shrimp instead. We came in and were politely greeted by the 2 hostess and taken to our table. Table was dirty still had food on it ring marks from previous drinks there. A busboy walked by us did a double take and started cleaning our dirty table. Many free tables to sit at that were clean to seat us at but decided in that one. Server came. He took our order. Our drinks came first. They were good. We ordered Paloma's with a chamoy and tajin rim. Our food arrived.... Such a disappointment! Tacos lacked any seasoning. The yuca bites had ZERO seasoning. No salt no pepper. The queso fundido had a boiled/poached egg on top. For why? And it was cream cheese. Naw bruh. Lastly the octopus. That octopus was so hard and gummy! Couldn't bite through it. The potatoes it comes with.... guess what.... NO SALT! Had to ask busboy for salt. I have NEVER left my octopus untouched until Sunday. The best part of our meal were the tortilla chips. They were the only thing with salt. Those were the real MVP's! Learned a valuable lesson that day. I will go to a Mexican restaurant for Mexican food. read more

Cheers to Brandon! After surfing around for a chill spot on a Monday it was refreshing to find seating easily. The tequila options were amazing and very inviting. I couldn't resist sampling at least one flight. The empanadas and shrimp quesadillas were very tasty to compliment our cocktails. Very reasonable pricing for the meal and drinks along with the street parking this place is must visit. Highly recommended for date night or an outing with friends. There's so many options you can choose from when you choose the bottomless brunch - there's bottomless drinks which you can switch between, there's food you can order from the menu & food you can snack on from the buffet. The buffet choices were quite limited though and okay choices, but the food ordered on the menu was delicious! Our server seemed quite busy because it gets pretty full for brunch & she forget to bring our drinks a couple times (you have a time limit for getting your bottomless drinks), but overall a fun place to hang out on the weekend.
