This place is the WORST. I've gotten ear piercings at 3 other places and I have never had even close to such a terrible experience. First of all, the entire staff could not be more rude. They are not "warm" when you are greeted and as I was filling out paperwork a couple of days ago I could hear a woman lecturing a small child in the back for being nervous about her piercing. I was getting my fourth piercing on my earlobe and the person who was piercing me literally missed the spot they had dotted on for reference. Now my ears are uneven and I'm just going to wait for them to close to go elsewhere. And it's not like you are getting a deal when you go there. You spend $200-300 for terrible customer service and terrible piercing. Go anywhere else. Seriously. They made an experience that was supposed to be fun into one that I'd like to forget. read more

This is my first bad review. I wish I would've read the reviews prior to making an appointment. The reviews stating the the staff is rude is absolutely true. I was really excited and hoping for a positive experience but was left beyond disappointed. My husband and I took our 3 month old daughter, they seemed bothered we were there, like we were an inconvenience. We arrived 15 min early on Sunday, June 11th, we paid nearly $200. I was shocked they had asked for a tip. We left a 15% tip and kindly mentioned to the lady their staff was not very kind or welcoming. I myself am in the customer service industry, I understand completely having a bad day but after reading all the reviews, it seems this is the way they like to run their business. I'm giving it two stars because the place was clean and that's important. My hope is that the owner reads this review and takes it as constructive criticism. I hope it will help them consider- perhaps they should make improvements with their customer service and change the way they approach their customers. Especially peoples children. Absolutely terrible experience. We took my 10 month old niece here for her first piercing experience and was so excited until we came here. Staff was incredibly rude from the second we walked in and were extremely unprofessional, Livvy & Nancy to be specific. Absolutely terrible. Do NOT come here and find another place!! I was so excited to take my daughters here for their first piercing experience. I made the appts a month in advance and planned a whole day out of it. I was willing to splurge a bit. Here's how it went down... For the record I was 5 minutes late to my first daughters appt. I will own that. I understand they have to keep a schedule but I also had 2 appts back to back. So really I had 30 minutes. As I dove up, I received a call from their calling service asking me "where I wAs?" And as I told him I was trying to locate their exact location the man on the phone proceeded to escalate his voice with each turn I made, wanting me to tell him Exactly which store I was facing proceeding to tell me to park as soon as I can! Pretty soon he was yelling directions at me... I found it comical and turned to my mother who was with me and said "I cannot believe this guy is yelling at me!" But I was still laughing in disbelief. As I walked in with my daughters I was rudely greeted by an older lady who basically red me the riot act for being late. She proceeded to tell me how busy they were, how I needed to keep the appt, and how they were not going to be able to see both of my daughters! I was like "" Let's see... my appt time was 10:45... I arrived at 10:50... and she was acting like I was an hour late. Needless to say she kept talking and talking as she also rudely told me I needed to fill out the consent form. I said "ok.. you can take one of them back and get started now..." she said "no. I need the form first." And kept talking... and chastising me.... at this point I was so irritated I told her that if she would just stop talking she could've already had one of my daughters in the chair piercing her ear! Well then she stopped talking. Needless to say they only saw one of my daughters (after driving 45 minutes to this place.) They were Very slow, over priced and honestly was not any better than a piercing/tattoo business...Which is where I ended up taking my second daughter afterwards. I highly recommend you stay away from this business because they are over priced, and not worth the time. They claim to be so great at what they do but honestly are no Better than a piercing business. Do not get caught up in their web page or the fact that they only do piercing. It was fine. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Completely unprofessional. I called multiple times to make an appointment, and when I finally got through, a woman confirmed our appointment time. When we got there 10 minutes before our appointment time, I told the man who greeted us we had an appointment. He said we weren't on the books. I showed him my call log, told him when we made an appointment, and asked him to honor it because the error was on La Lobe's end, not ours. He said we would have to "wait our turn" and that since he wasn't the one who made the appointment, he couldn't do anything to fix it ("I'm not the one who took your call. I'm not a woman, does my voice sound like a woman's?"). When I asked if he could talk to his female coworker about our appointment, he said that he was unwilling to interrupt her during piercing (understandable). When I asked if we could talk to her when she was done, he told me that I just needed to be patient and that they would get to me after the line of other customers who had walked in. I called and made the appointment so I wouldn't have to walk in and wait. Just entirely unprofessional and rude. We left and went to Two Chairs Tattoo and had a great experience. read more

Rude. Well that was a waste. We left two messages for la lobe to get information and to book an appointment. No calls returned. So we drove there to see them in person. We were told appointment only and that they were totally booked. Ok. I understand, but I told them we left two messages, unanswered, and she said oh, our messages must have gotten lost in the shuffle. Long pause. They were not encouraging about when we could get in and said we would just need to hope someone was a no-show. Fine, but the only way to get an appointment is if they return calls. Anyway, definitely didn't feel any customer service, felt like we were in the way, will not return. We wanted this experience to be super fun and positive and a great memory for our daughter. When I booked my appointment here I was only aware of the $45 piercing fee no where did I see that I had to purchase one of their earrings and the cheapest one they offered me was $90. This was very frustrating and poorly communicated. Then to go on the person who pierced my ears did not even use a needle he proceeded to stick the earring through a hole that was covered by scar tissue, which was something I could of easily done myself. It was also very painful and because he pierced over old grown in holes they are very uneven and off centered. Overall very very over priced and a very frustrating experience. read more

The lady was somewhat helpful on getting us in, she was a bit rude. The only reason I'm giving it four stars is for the young lady that pierced my daughters ears. Will never be back. My wife had second holes put in her ears and specifically asked for white gold earrings because "I'm allergic to all other metals." All went well with the piercings and the lady went into great detail about care of her ears during the healing process. After a couple months, we could not figure out why her ears were not healing on the backside of her ear lobes. The fronts were fine, inside the holes were fine, just the backs were raw and swollen. We followed all their recommendations, GTS'ed it a few times and nothing was working. While cleaning her earrings I decided to take a closer look. I pulled out my jeweler's loop (magnifying glass), that I had since I was in the jewelry business a while back, took a closer look and the backs are stamped 925! That's silver! OMG! The gold backs had been switched out with silver ones in order to make an extra few bucks. Very disappointed in this dishonesty. We've had 2 of our daughters' ears pierced at this place and were very happy until now. Needless to say, my wife's ears are on a path to recovery since we switched out the backs with gold ones. If you go here and buy "gold" earrings, I would double check the earrings and their backs to make sure they are stamped: "10K", "14K", "18K", "417" (10K), "585" (14K) or "750" (18K) If they are truly gold, they will have one of these stamps. If they are stamped "925", they are sterling silver. Gold earrings are always sold with gold backs as a set. read more

One did the piercing and the other entertained my baby! Made us feel much less nervous and made the process smooth! Definitely recommend coming here if u have a baby! I'm so sad. I took my 4 month old to get her ears pierced and I regret it. Mainly because one ear has the earring in too high & it's not symmetrical to the other ear. I have been going back & forth about taking it out & letting it heal. My gut tells me yes, but I hate that I put my daughter through that for nothing! Also with the thought of putting her through that again! I am very disappointed they did it incorrectly the 1st time. ***My daughter is now 13 months old. The above paragraph was actually written when my daughter was 4 months and I forgot to post it and it saved for me. So, I ended up letting my daughter's pierced ear hole grow back when she was about 8-9 months. I must also mention how unprofessional the lady who does the piercings is. She pierced one of my daughter's ears, then a customer came in, and she actually stepped away for about 5 minutes to help the other customer and left my baby crying, instead of just getting it over with. I'm also convinced this is why her piercings are uneven because everything got so flustered and got rushed and frantic from that point. I hear of other ear piercing places that will have 2 people pierce both baby's ears at the same to avoid making this a lengthy process. Between that and encouraging me to pierce them so high to begin with, I highly do not recommend any mom take their child here. You can just tell when you walk in the door, despite the upscale location near Preston and Northwest highway, that it's a very old establishment and the business and its owners do not reflect experience and class you would expect, despite how long its been in business. I ended up taking my daughter, again, at 13 months to Claire's. Yes, Claire's. They used a gun, not a needle, and despite how much a needle is recommended, it was actually a much quicker and more accurate process. It was so quick that my daughter didn't even know they did it. Thankfully we only had to do one ear, but I wish I just went to Claire's in the first place. It gets a bad rap, and it shouldn't. And it cost a lot less too. read more

At the suggestion of my pediatrician, I took my 9 week old baby daughter here to get her ears pierced. My mom had my ears pierced when I was a baby, and I wanted to carry on the tradition. Everything about this experience was great, from scheduling the appointment to checkout (if you plan to come here on a Saturday, definitely schedule an appointment). We were given very specific directions to get there, which was helpful because La Lobe is tucked away inside a building on Kate St. under an unmarked green awning and would have been tough to find. I was nervous about the actual piercing, but Nancy gave thorough directions about how to care for my baby's ears after the fact and sent us home with written instructions. She has clearly pierced infant ears for years, and used a sterile needle to very quickly make the holes. My baby screamed once per prick and that was it! I'd expected her to be a lot more upset. For nursing mothers, they even have a private room you can take your baby to when the piercing is done to help comfort her, which I thought was a very nice extra and a clear sign that this place specializes in baby piercings. For the piercing, 14K white gold studs, a bottle of after-care solution, and a 4-week follow up appointment, it cost just shy of $100. It was well worth the money, and my baby already forgot it happened two hours after the fact. Plus she'll never again be mistaken for a boy. Thanks La Lobe! read more

My wife tells me that our daughter (almost 1yr old) needs to have her ears pierced. Cool, let's bring her to Claire's, get her under that piercing gun, and we're good to go. Well, not really. Apparently there's a better way to do piercings and La Lobe is one of these places that does so. Ok, I'm not piercing expert, so let's do this. We're given directions on how to get there. "Look for the green awning because we can't advertise piercings on the window." Huh? I'm thinking that we're going to the ghetto, but I know that this place is near Preston Hollow so it can't be shady. As we arrive, they were piercing the ears of a 3month old girl. What, no piercing gun? Just a quick stab of the needle, quickly insert the earring, and voila.. done! Looks like they know what they're doing, and looks like they've been doing this for a long while. Needless to say, I'm now at ease. My daughter was next. She got a little nervous but the owner's grandkids were there, and they did an excellent job distracting our little one. I swear she took longer to explain how to care for the ears after the piercing than it took to actually get the earrings in. It's been a week and my daughter's ears look great! She doesn't seem to know she has earrings on. We've been following the cleaning guidelines they gave us, and it's been working. We're supposed to go back 4 weeks after so they can ensure everything is ok. Something tells me that this is not a standard practice of the run of the mill piercing station. They pierce ears for all ages, as there was a teenager that went after my daughter. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

So we decided not to get them done because we felt rushed. After we told him we changed our minds, he threatened us with paying double since we booked the appointment and decided not to get them done. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We've had both of our girls' ears' pierced here. One at 4wks old and the other was 6wks. She does an incredible job. Goes by really quickly and is the only person I'd trust with my precious bundles of joy. I do have to say that I called several times to make an appt for our 6wk old, appts are required. And never got a call back after leaving multiple messages. We decided to stop in, and it was chaotic. I believe it's her husband that manages everything outside of the piercings, and lets just say that things were far from running smoothly. If they could fix a few things, I'd give them 5 stars. Love La Lobe! I did not want to take my daughter to a Claire's or Walmart for her ears pierced. I Took my daughter when she was 3 months old and had the most pleasant experience! We had Ashley (young, sweet, very personable and professional) It's worth the price for her real diamond earrings and we never had any issues with her piercings. She even explained the reasoning for the solution to be used and even why she pierced in a certain way. (No gun- they used brand new needles) and my daughter healed beautifully. She is 9 months now, and is still doing great! I definitely recommend this place! read more

Not amazed, they did my 3 month old daughter piercings ,there's nothing special about this place, it's a lil over $100 for the service ..which I think it's ridiculous expensive ....I highly suggest to take your own earrings..the cheapest they have cost $55!! The exact same one 14kt you can get them for 20-25@ Walmart ! They should consider lowering their prices either on the earrings and or the service ..Im not going back to this place..way too expensive. read more

Do not go here we called to make an appointment they said we don't make appointments so just come in we open at 11:00. When we arrived at 11:40 they had us fill out paperwork then another lady came out at 11:50 said the lady is going to lunch at 12:00 we don't have time to do the piercing. Seriously you just opened 40 minutes ago and you're taking a lunch. I believe they made an excuse because my daughter wears Nikab and we are Muslim. A few years ago, my daughter had her second piercing done at a well known "mall establishment". It was not a good experience and the holes closed up. She decided to try again. Scheduled an appointment with La Lobe. Arrived, signed in, waited about 5min or so. She selected a nice pair of gold earrings from their options. The owner was sweet, attentive, and professional. DO NOT RECOMMEND! The entire experience from start to finish was HORRIBLE!!! I took my 4 month old there yesterday to get her ears pierced. I received a call 7 minutes BEFORE my appointment asking where I was at and that "I should be there" when I was outside unloading 3 kids from my car. Then my son went to grab a disposable mask which there was a pile of them and the lady said "Oh no, these are for other people" really...we were the only ones in there. Then you have to pick these over priced earrings (which in the grand scheme of things was the least of my concern). I was told I can take ONE picture before and then "the phone needs to get out of here." Where would you like me to put it? Considering I am one person with 3 kids and 2 hands. We were rushed the entire time while trying to deal with a screaming baby. Then the lady was trying to rush me out and have me exit out the side door and was so worried about which door I was going to go through that I couldn't even grab my belongings. COMPLETELY RUDE and I would never recommend someone to take their child there when this is supposed to be a good memory. I witnessed another mother rushing through the door because she was running late and the lady standing in the doorway said "yeah we have to be strict because we have to close at some point." Piercing the ears of a four month old is, no doubt, a daunting experience for parents, but La Lobe will dispel all of those fears. I had my ears pierced at LL three decades ago and while things have definitely changed, the professionalism has not. Lillie was kind, sweet and thorough. I brought my 3 month old for her piercing. If your a nursing mother I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Staff is not very welcoming I was nervous for my baby (first time mom). After the piercing I wanted to nurse my baby and my baby was looking for something to comfort her. The lady doing the piercing did not allow me to do so her exact words where "we do not have a station for that" I felt rushed out of the room at the same time my 3month old is hysterically crying and Im all over the place trying to find my wallet to pay while holding my baby. The worst experience ever for the amount of money I paid for a piercing and earnings i could have gone to Claire's Im sure would have had a better experience. Im currently sitting in the back of my car nursing my baby and comforting her. WORST EXPERIENCE. I never leave reviews ever, but I'm very upset . Update: In response to the owner's comment. Though it is not your responsibility to ensure I took proper care of my nose piercing, I followed through on all of your instructions and even called every couple months to tell you about my situation. I was advised to change my piercing after 6 months and when unable to do so, I waited a whole year! After trying to change the nose stud I was pierced with(the jewl in the stud has gotten rusty, your custom made jewelry ,to a gold nose stud & ring I was unable to put it through my hole. I've sent many emails, to which I have not gotten any reply, and have called many times. Though the piercing process itself was phenomenal, the least you could do is offer to repierce it or even refund half my payment, if I paid 80 dollars and all of it was for a custom made nose stud that ended up rusting, and a nose piercing that closed, which I'm going to have to pay to get it pierced again. At this point, this is just poor customer service. read more
