Amazing food, one of the best dinners in town, so good we're gonna go back. The tacos are delicious.

ABSOLUTELY the best place in town! After trying several of the "recommended"restaurants in LB we finally found the real deal. Fantastic food much of it organic, friendly staff and awesome fresh fruit smoothies

Stopped by on a Sunday, and indulged in a fantastic, very filling seafood soup and a freshly prepared seafood ceviche. Don't let the shack stand look fool you...this place is the "Real Deal" for quality, extremely flavorful local seafood fare. Oh, and their alcohol selection is awesome as well. Wait staff all have great customer service skills. I enjoyed this restaurant thoroughly.

Looking for home away from home yummy food @La Gaviota will give you that feeling. We had been in Los Barriles for the past three years back to back now for the love of fish and felling in love with the city and people. The small town has slowly recovering from COVID-19 pandemic. We eat many place in the city,, OH BOY!!! this year we got the jackpot. Small family own restaurant which it our typical restaurant for vacation we gone too when we travel. My husband found it on Yelp the night before we bring back our fresh fish for them to make it for our dinner. The food came out so delicious like we cook at home but the presentation was like we were at the at fancy's restaurant. The service was beyond words. Everyone are so helpful and understanding my need of food. The chef use their specialty of food knowledge and add more love into it. Yeps!! It beyond words. The bill was perfect on our budget but we feeling like we were million dollars dinner as we walked out. (We feeling like we just have a private dinner for just our family). The restaurant still new to town. I am sure it will be be busy very soon. Oh, as for the love bird here is a good place for romantic dinner as well. (It very depends on your test, my is was lovely the night before was just me and my husband). The family are great too as you see my son love it very much. To all of fisherman & women out there. If you looking to have your fish cook after your caught they are your chief. For those who look for good healthy diets or be more on health eating here is your place. Plus for those to love to celebrates Ana have a good time and enjoy your adult beverages they got it cover. I will be seeing them agin to tonight. .

You could easily miss it if you blink. ;) The three of us sat down at a table in the middle of the establishment. They had the fans going, but because they use a wood burning fire, it is very smokey and you will end up smelling like a barbecue. As long as you don't mind that, the food was really good. We started off with the camaron ceviche (shrimp/prawn). It was priced at $7.50 usd which I thought was a bit on the pricer side for mexico, but it was huge and easily enough for 3 people as an appetizer. The chips here are store bought, not homemade, but I didn't come here for the chips. Next up was the entree. I ordered camaron imperales ($14) - huge prawns with cheese wrapped in bacon. They were really good a little bit too much cheese for me, but still tasty. They boys split the Pirata Combination ($16) which was one camaron imperales, one coconut shrimp topped with banana, one seabass, one piece of octopus served with a potato on top of a salad. They boys loved the combo! They have a variety of soda, beer and wine. I stuck with a homemade lemonade which was made with sparkling water. Service was great, street parking was easy. For the quality of food, the prices are reasonable.

I have to say, Smokey's stands out as an American bar-restaurant in an otherwise Mexican resort town. Their Shrimp Linguini Alfredo rivals any we've had in the US. And their Pescado Vericruzano (Yellowtail Veracruz) is superb. Both are top examples of what you would expect from a seafood region, such as San Francisco or New Orleans. Smokey's is probably the hottest club atmosphere in town also - a mix of stylish singles, sport fishermen, and American ex-patriot retirees, all becoming friends over the topic of food, drink and sports playing on 3-4 big-screen TVs. Attire is what-ever's-comfortable. And the parking lot is SUVs and 4-wheel ATVs, side by side. And I must say, our waitress, Gloria, was glorious! A couple locals on guitars and bongos play for tips - regulars, obviously known to everyone. After a week of Mexican cuisine elsewhere (tacos, enchiladas, and endless guacamole), it's really refreshing to find a more American diversion. The only thing missing are steak entrees, Smoky's is clearly a seafood restaurant and bar!
