Blood Mary with bacon.

Everything is amazing. From drinks, food, and service. Beautiful view and atmosphere.

Fantastic place on the beach to have a meal. We only visited for breakfast this trip but it was so good we walked down the beach to this place everyday. Portions are big and the food is fresh and amazing. Price is a little spendy but worth it for the ambiance, great service and fantastic food.

This is one of my favorite places to eat when I come to Los Barriles. The people working here are so friendly and always make me feel at home. I really enjoy the view and the chill vibe day and night. They have bands and salsa dancing weekly and sometimes a DJ. The food and drinks here are outstanding. Try the salads and acai bowls, they are works of art. The portions are large for the price and the quality of ingredients are top grade. I have hosted private parties here and they went above and beyond accommodating everyone. I wish I could be transported there now.

Divorced eggs with poblano sauce and chipotle crema with a side of chilaquiles

This place never disappoints. From the view looking out onto the beach and beautiful water, to the music, to the service and the amazing food and drinks. I always stop for chilaquiles. Everything is fresh and delicious.

Okay this was THE BEST chilaquiles I have ever had! I got it with half their chipotle sauce and have their poblano sauce and that was the best decision I've ever made. I've tried chilaquiles at so many restaurants down there because that's my favorite Mexican dish and this one is by far #1. Maybe it was the fact that it was a different sauce than I'm used to, but these different sauces were so good, I can't even remember which one of these two tasted better. I also got their "Chai species" to drink and that was so good as well. Chai drinks out here are exactly how I love them. Just chai and milk. The playa has earned its spot as my favorite restaurant in Los Barriles. The decor is so cute, the views are gorgeous of course, and the staff are very well dressed and courteous. I cannot wait to come back to Los Barriles. This will be the first place I'll stop at!

Great laid back beach restaurant. Service is friendly. The food is always good. Between us we had asada tacos &quesadillas, chicken & shrimp enchiladas. I recommend the enchiladas with green sauce & a Hibiscus margarita They also make pizzas, hamburgers and more. Sit and watch the kite surfers. You can also get lessons here.

Breakfast day 3 I think. Great location on the beach. Ran into our favorite musician. Group consensus that they had the best Bloody Mary we tried that week. Also a fantastic shrimp omelette.

You come here for the view, not the food. The waitstaff was nice. It was definitely one of the most expensive meals I've had here in Mexico. You're paying for the view and an English menu.

Loved our breakfast and lunches at La Playa! We stayed at an AirBnb right next door so popping over was very convenient. It is open in the off season until end of July, then they close for the rest of summer. Our waiter Andy was fabulous and gave us great local recommendations. We enjoyed espresso, chorizo benedict, mimosas, mezcalitas and fresh ahi tuna. The only thing we didn't care for was the burger meat - stick with the fresh, local fish! The views are hard to beat. It is a very popular open-air, local hang out and is also dog friendly. We'll be back soon!

Breakfast burrito

We decided today we would kite from Exotikite and I was a bit on the hungry side so I decided to grab a bite to eat here as it is right in front of Exotikite. I ordered a breakfast burrito. I was so disappointed. It was egg and a tomato mush wrapped in a tortilla topped with avocado. Now this may sound good to you, but it did not taste good. It was very bland and unflavorful. Service was fine, prices are reasonable if you like the food. Quite a few of my friends here eat all the time, so maybe it was just what I ordered, but I didn't come back here again as there are so many great places to eat in LB.

The Tropical. Perfection in a glass.

Best breakfast in town! Delicious juices and food and best open air beachfront dining. Bonus to watch the kite-boarders when the wind is up

Restaurante La Trinidad RV Ranch - Tasty menu

Restaurante La Trinidad RV Ranch

We drove through the dark on dusty dirt roads with no illumination other than our own headlights…read moreand the near full moon on that fateful late December evening. The sky was clear and the air in that transition from the warm Baja day to the cool evening breeze. We were in search of a sign, any sign, for La Trinidad - a little Shangri-La in Baja of which we had heard. The sign was spotted, another turn was made onto an even smaller dirt road, and there in front of us were 2 riderless horses standing in the road. Asked them about La Trinidad and a snotty snort was all we got in return as they moved out of our way. Following the road into the darkness we eventually found an area that looked like an RV park with just a couple lights coming out of the small windows of the trailers. Eyes peered out at us "who are you?" they seemed to ask. After 2 circles we found the barely lit office/restaurant, parked, and walked into the palapa style roofed area. Just inside there was Mike sitting at his desk, smoking a cigarette, and looking at his computer in the cool evening weather. He greeted us warmly enough and after a few minutes we realized our information was wrong - the Le Trinidad Restaurant was in fact only open for dinner on Fri-Sun - it was Tuesday. Additionally, there were only 2 spots in the RV park occupied - so the entire place was basically deserted. Yet Mike was there at his desk, watching over his place, and occupying his time with whatever he had on his computer - he didn't offer and we didn't ask. But after a couple minutes of polite conversation we asked if we could look around, and after a minute of looking around I asked if it was possible to buy a couple Modelo Negra's, even though he closed. Mike was happy to oblige as we commented that it was one of our favorite Mexican beers, but seemed so hard to get in the remote areas of Baja (certain distributors have certain areas locked up - if they don't carry it, you don't get it). Mike gave us that little smile of his, said he could always get it, and gave us a little wink. I instantly liked him - as did almost everyone that met him. Mike was a well liked fixture in this remote little town of La Ribera. He was also quite proud of his fishing and the occasional tournament that he won. I use the past tense, because Mike passed away in May. Shortly afterwards, La Trinidad passed into new hands. We stopped there this past weekend during our short East Cape fishing trip to check it out and see Mike - it was then we learned of his passing thought the memorial on the wall which was behind where he sat at his desk every day. The desk is gone, but all his fishing pictures are still there, surrounding a memorial plaque for Mike. We spoke with a couple boys working on the property (mowing the dirt, scraping out a few weeds, etc.) and they told us of the new owner - Don Filipe. We pulled a couple Modelo Negra from the cooler, left enough pesos on the bar with a note to the new owner of our purchase, and had a toast to Mike. While enjoying our beer, we walked around and inspected - what has changed, do they care for the place, etc. We are happy to report that everything was very clean and well maintained - probably even to a little higher standard than what Mike kept. The kitchen was spotless, the bar tools and area were shiny, and the facilities were very clean. Off we went on our drive south for some sun, snorkeling, and other activities with the plan to stop on our return drive to Rancho Leonero (separate review). After our day we returned at 5:30 and were immediately met by a large smiling man who spoke almost no English - Filipe the new owner. He had worked for Mike for 11 years and bought the place from Mike's daughter. You could tell he was proud to keep Mike's traditions and name alive as he took over the business. We stayed for a couple refreshing drinks as a few tables were seated and dinner service was being prepared. My margarita was perfect and the hosts (Filipe and his daughter) were gracious. We didn't stay for dinner since our Rancho was grilling ribs that night, but we enjoyed our short time there. We left thanking Filipe for the fine service and for keeping the place alive. We vowed that we would see him again when we return in December and left with smiles on our faces knowing that Mikes memory is alive and well. Note 1 - we have never stayed in the RV Park itself. The rating I provide is for the restaurant/bar. Note 2 - they are now open for lunch every day and dinner Fri-Sun.

Wow! What a great experience we had at La Lupita Taco and Mezcal…read more This is a taco place. Don't expect any else on the menu except soup & salad and a couple of apps & sides. There is an indoor area or outside courtyard you can choose from. We had the pleasure of working with several Staff members including our main waiter, Marco as well as Ivan and Miriam. They were all so fun and attentive. They brought us a small serving of soup as an appetizer. My husband had a taste of the tortilla broth which had a little kick to it and I had the bean soup. Both were a nice sampling of the soup they offered. We ordered the chips & huac to start. The chips were thick and crispy. The guacamole tasted super fresh and bright. Now, the tacos are some of the best tacos we've ever eaten in MX or the US. The creativity and variety of toppings were outstanding. I really enjoyed the EL TAKESHI 190MX Rib Eye, Sesame, Hoisin, Ginger, Chives, Crispy Shallots, Flour tortilla. The meat was cooked perfectly and the flavor they developed was delicious. I also ordered the MEXICAN FLANK STEAK $150MX. Fresh Chiapas Cheese , Arugula, Crispy Leek & Potato, Macha Sauce, Yellow Corn tortillas. All these flavors worked so well together. One of the tastiest tacos they have on the menu is a cheese based tortilla taco called CHEESE CRUST PASTOR $100MX. Talk about a flavor bomb. Marinated Pork, Asadero Cheese Crust, Cilantro, Onion, Pineapple. My husband also ordered the CHIPOTLE SHRIMP $165MX. Shrimp, Chipotle Cream, fried parsley, flour tortilla. He loved it. For my Arizona friends, they will be opening a Scottsdale location in 2027. I can wait. Add this to your must try restaurants. Also, they just opened a location in Dallas Texas.

It has that energetic taco-bar vibe people rave about, but still feels relaxed enough to really enjoy your meal. We started with the guacamole and it was excellent -- fresh, bright, perfectly seasoned, and clearly made to order. A great way to kick things off. For tacos, everything we tried was outstanding. The cheese shell al pastor was next level -- crispy, savory, and indulgent in the best way. The pastor had that smoky-sweet flavor people always mention in reviews, with just the right char. The miso fish taco was a surprise standout -- super flavorful, slightly sweet and umami-forward, and perfectly cooked. The milanesa taco had great crunch and seasoning, and the chipotle shrimp packed just the right amount of smoky heat without overpowering the shrimp. You can tell why so many reviews mention the creativity here -- these aren't just standard street tacos. The flavor combinations are bold and unique while still feeling authentically Baja. Service was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and helpful with recommendations. Drinks were great, the energy was fun without being overwhelming, and the whole experience felt memorable. If you're in San José del Cabo and want elevated tacos in a vibrant setting, La Lupita is a must.
