    Chocolate Martini
    Jeremy N.

We started a few doors down from the Bay view in an AirB&B and this turned into our regular spot for a few reasons. Always first are the drinks. Margis, mojitos, Long Island ice teas, pina colada.... all fantastic! But that chocolate martini was amazing. Then the food, we didn't order much off the menu. I caught a Wahoo on day 2 and brought in about a 1/3 of it and the did some manic. The sashimi was my favorite, with an amazing sesame soy sauce mixture on top. Then some tempura and some grilled. They did up with grilled veggies mashed potatoes and a few sauces that were perfect. Finally the people. What a fantastic bunch. The servers were attentive the chef must be a genius and the music was so fun. The guy play was so enthusiastic about his music that we couldn't help but love it. Ladies got up and danced and even got us up there after a few (many) drinks. We saw him a couple other times and almost got my wife up there to play the banjo with him. He was all for it. Plan on hitting this place first and comparing everything else to it.

A lovely location on a deck over looking the Sea of Cortez. I ordered the Mohito and Mexican platter. A lot of food. I ended up taking half of it home. Yay. I get more tomorrow

Great ambiance, drinks, food and service. Beer is ice cold and Bartender Pablo is an embassador of this great bar. He loves what he does and it shows. Ask him to make you a Mescalito. You'll not be disappointed.

    Scallop Tostada $6.50

Had the guacamole and chips, could feed a crowd, and the ordered the scallop tostada. Thought it was going to be a small bite for $6.50. Wow! Try this stack of scallops, avocado, red onion, fresh salsa but take my word for it, do not eat it like a traditional tostada. Fell apart in my hands and still ate as much as I could! Would buy again!!

Just tried the new restaurant near Bay View - Umi sushi, which is the part of the hotel. Sushi was amazing. We also enjoyed miso soup. Our favorite was the tempura rolls. You can also order anything you want from the Bay View.

Came to a Bay View today after a long day of fishing. They not only prepared our fish, but prepared it two different ways! Sashimi and grilled (dorado) it. We did a surf and turf, huge filet mignon and lobster tail for 30 dollars. So happy we came here!

You could easily miss it if you blink. ;) The three of us sat down at a table in the middle of the establishment. They had the fans going, but because they use a wood burning fire, it is very smokey and you will end up smelling like a barbecue. As long as you don't mind that, the food was really good. We started off with the camaron ceviche (shrimp/prawn). It was priced at $7.50 usd which I thought was a bit on the pricer side for mexico, but it was huge and easily enough for 3 people as an appetizer. The chips here are store bought, not homemade, but I didn't come here for the chips. Next up was the entree. I ordered camaron imperales ($14) - huge prawns with cheese wrapped in bacon. They were really good a little bit too much cheese for me, but still tasty. They boys split the Pirata Combination ($16) which was one camaron imperales, one coconut shrimp topped with banana, one seabass, one piece of octopus served with a potato on top of a salad. They boys loved the combo! They have a variety of soda, beer and wine. I stuck with a homemade lemonade which was made with sparkling water. Service was great, street parking was easy. For the quality of food, the prices are reasonable.

I have to say, Smokey's stands out as an American bar-restaurant in an otherwise Mexican resort town. Their Shrimp Linguini Alfredo rivals any we've had in the US. And their Pescado Vericruzano (Yellowtail Veracruz) is superb. Both are top examples of what you would expect from a seafood region, such as San Francisco or New Orleans. Smokey's is probably the hottest club atmosphere in town also - a mix of stylish singles, sport fishermen, and American ex-patriot retirees, all becoming friends over the topic of food, drink and sports playing on 3-4 big-screen TVs. Attire is what-ever's-comfortable. And the parking lot is SUVs and 4-wheel ATVs, side by side. And I must say, our waitress, Gloria, was glorious! A couple locals on guitars and bongos play for tips - regulars, obviously known to everyone. After a week of Mexican cuisine elsewhere (tacos, enchiladas, and endless guacamole), it's really refreshing to find a more American diversion. The only thing missing are steak entrees, Smoky's is clearly a seafood restaurant and bar!
