Loved the big porch with the rocking chairs and hammock. The housekeepers did a wonderful job of tidying up each morning. Our bed was so comfortable, too. We shared in some unforgettable experiences: snorkeling with puffer fish, boating alongside gray whales, and digging for shark teeth. The staff were always friendly and accommodating. The food was unbeatable. Fresh yellow tail, fluffy pancakes, and fajitas. I highly recommend Palapas Ventana for anyone who likes adventure and is looking to experience the local culture. I do not think their food is particularly impressive, but if you need a quick bite, this is a good option. Their sushi special was okay. It was mostly a thick roll of rice, not much fish or other things inside. Not a great ratio. My partner and I enjoyed a veggie pizza after kiting. It is thin crust and pretty good.

We walked around the block for about 15 minutes trying to find it until we saw someone standing outside El Patio and asked where the heck this bar was. Turns out, you have to walk through the restaurant to get to it! It's located in the courtyard. We came on a night they were going to have a ticketed event, but since we were there early, they let us stay at our table without cover. We ordered a punch bowl to share among the five of us. The cocktail tasted great and the service was awesome! It was warm and humid and the guys turned the fan they had towards us to keep us cool! I really liked the vibes here; you feel like you're in a jungle (it was dark with trees and plants around you; the space was lit by colored lights) at a secret outdoor nightclub. Check their Facebook page for special events -- I think the cover was only about the equivalent of $10USD/person.
