Both my friend and I stopped in late at night (12 midnight ) and ordered Prime Rib which turned out perfect! The atmosphere was conducive for dating and the service was excellent. I highly recommend this dining establishment

Adorableeeee place, with good music. Make sure to have your camera ready. The service took some time but very polite and helpful. We went during brunch time and it was delicious, I'll definitely be going back.

OMG...this is exactly what I was in the mood for! I have been to all the "cool"spots in TJ and I really do love them all. The one type of restaurant I hadn't been to so far is a "traditional Mexican restaurant" ...and the funny thing is that the decor seems to be what Mexican restaurants in America are inspired by. The place was clean...super clean and looked like traditional Mexican decor. I guess this is the spot that locals have been coming to for years. COVID precautions. ... they took our temp we cleaned the bottom of our shoes we were required to sanitize before entering the tables are spaced out servers wore a mask AND a shield I had a combo plate with a Chile relleno and a taco...OMG so damn good! we were told by a friend that the chocolate flan is the best ever...and I think they are right! I also had a margarita and it was made to perfection. (on the rocks...and if you want it on the rocks let them know ...otherwise I think blended is the default) I can't wait to bring my kids back here! good to know...they have their own parking lot. also..no red salsa...verde only =)

How about waking up to the aromas & flavors of traditional Mexican food? La Fogata Restaurant (the name translates to "wood fire") transports you to "abuelita's kitchen" or a "grandma's kitchen" where you're comfort food begins with tortilla chips and salsa. And hey - I mean chips that taste corny & earthy. Look - just go there, bring one chip up to your nostril and let me know....The menu has practically every traditional breakfast dish you're craving- huevos rancheros; machaca shredded beef with eggs, onion & tomatoes; eggs and "nopales" (this is "cactus leaves") - all served with homemade corn tortillas & retried beans. All ingredients are the freshest ever. Lunch and dinner menus are extensive, complete with slow-cooked lamb in a clay pot. Doesn't get any better than this.

Excellent food ( grass fed beef, fresh seafood, full bar), romantic restaurant (classy furnishings, paintings clean restrooms), piano bar, live music, sports on tv. Great service, real China sevice on linen, secure parking. Next to Mercado Hidalgo on Paseo de los Heroes.

Do not eat here! My family and I ate here and we all got sick. My husband and I ordered the garlic fish plate. On the drive home My stomach felt bubbly, I threw up twice, my husband's food came out the other exit hole, diarrhea! Never going back there again! Worst experience ever!

The food here was amazing, great quality ingredients and amazing prices. We got the Molcajete Patron, and it was amazing, and enough for two hungry people. I normally don't like octopus because it's overcooked, but this octopus was soft and tender. The meat was cooked perfectly and the desserts were amazing. Get the chocoflan, it is amazing.

Awww how cute for Valentine's Day 3

Came in to wait for my name for about 40 minutes, came in got sat down in probably the worst table ever. Sat for about 10 minutes with a food menu and they came around to ask us what we wanted to drink, we didn't even know what they offered... so again another 10-15 minutes to come around. As we wait for our food order I kept getting pushed into my chair from servers and people walking around. So uncomfortable. I ordered drinks with water, I got my water half way done with my drink, I didn't even get ice WTF. so irritated I already was jacque came around again and I told her I wanted ice... I waited another 10 minutes, my husband tried to call her over, I called her over and this was my second time asking for just a simple glass of water. I came because of their menu orginally but being Valentine's Day there was only about 9 different plates to choose from. Such a horrible experience I was so sad but I have to come back on a normal day because my Valentine's Day date experience was horrible :(

    Nice old style

It came highly recommended by both locals and fellow food lovers, and after seeing the incredible reviews, we knew we had to experience it for ourselves. We ordered a little bit of everything: tacos de tripa, tacos al pastor, tacos de asada, and an asada quesadilla. Every single item was packed with flavor and tasted incredibly fresh. The tripas were perfectly crispy without being greasy, the al pastor was juicy, well-seasoned, and had that classic balance of savory and slightly sweet flavors, and the asada was tender with a delicious char-grilled flavor. The asada quesadilla was generously filled with meat and gooey melted cheese, making it the perfect complement to the tacos. One thing I really appreciated was how convenient the ordering process is. They have a drive-through style setup where you simply pull up and park in front of the restaurant. An employee comes directly to your car to take your order, and once your food is ready, they bring it right out to you. It's such an easy and efficient experience, especially if you're eager to grab amazing food and get back on the road. It's easy to see why this place has earned such a stellar reputation. Between the authentic flavors, generous portions, friendly service, and convenient setup, this was the perfect way to kick off our trip into Mexico. I'll definitely be making this a tradition every time I cross the border.

Found this place, thanks to Yelp…read more We crossed over to droop off my parents and wanted a place that served food but that we could sit down and talk. We had a 15 minute wait before we were sat at our table. As soon as we sat down, we had coffee cups ready and regular coffee or Cafe de olla ready to be served. Our Server was amazing. He made sure we were comfortable, and asked if we had any questions on the menu. We ordered the queso fundido to start, chilaquiles and tamales everything was great! I can't wait to go back and try the lunch/dinner menu. The place was very busy but the place was filled with good vibes and great energy.

Their breakfast goes from American eggs and bacon with the best potatoes to wonderful burrito type breakfast items. Their menudo is great and they have great Mexican meats as well. Lunch and dinner is about the same. They make Mexican style fish and steak that is just perfect every time. All of their Mexican dishes are just wonderful. You can't go wrong. They even have bottled water--never drink the water there, just don't. They have the best rice and beans. The service is great. They make you feel right at home and even if you don't speak Spanish, most speak English and you will figure it out because they will help you. The prices are fair for what you get. At dinner I consider it fine dining. It is all good and you will be happy. The place is also clean and super comfortable.

The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served. Coffee and overall service here, was mucho excellente.
