We came in to pay the remaining balance for our wedding, which should have been such an exciting moment considering our wedding is only two months away. Instead, the experience with the gentleman at the front desk completely ruined what should have been a happy milestone. We were told the remaining balance needed to be paid in cash, so we came prepared with the full amount. We were literally short one penny. I asked if we could give an extra 10 cents since we didn't have a penny and simply leave the change. Instead of showing any understanding or basic customer service, he made the biggest issue out of one penny. The way he spoke to us and handled the situation was so unnecessary and uncomfortable that I was literally on the verge of crying. My fiancé had to calm me down afterward because I was so upset. Imagine being a bride, two months away from your wedding, coming in excited to make your final payment, only to leave feeling this way because of how someone treated you over ONE CENT. This is supposed to be a place where couples come to celebrate some of the biggest moments of their lives. Customer service matters. Compassion matters. How you treat people matters. The venue itself is beautiful, which is why this experience is even more disappointing. I truly hope management addresses this because I would hate for another couple to experience the same thing. I'm now praying that our actual wedding day is nothing like the experience we had simply trying to pay our final balance. It's incredibly unfortunate when one employee can make a couple question whether they chose the right place for such an important day. Brenda & her team did an amazing job. They were so helpful with all selections such as food, table set up, and ceremony set up. Brenda was very helpful in helping make sure we were able to plan within our budget. We choose the Marbella room and it was very spacious! The only thing is it's easy for people to sneak into events through other doors and not have to pay door or ticket fee. The hallway that connects the kitchen and other two rooms (a smaller hall and the VFW Bar) is access to see others parties. The VFW Bar area does have great DJ's and music on Saturday's. The parking is a little small you might have to park out on the street. It would be nice if security would check bags and pat down people. Other than that it's a cool spot.
