I love that they offer you the option of half/half. The portion size is definitely on the smaller side but the sandwich with side was only $13 and I prefer the smaller portion as I've been trying to control my portions better. The chicken sandwich was ok - the chicken could have been more seasoned / better coating but it wasn't bad.

The place is always very busy and I now I understand why. The food is delicious, service is good and the prices are great. My husband and I were both off work on a Friday, so we decided to head there for a late-ish lunch. We got there close to 2pm and it was packed indoors. The patio was relatively empty, and that's where we opted to sit. The patio started to fill up as we were there. I got the fried chicken sandwich with fries ($12) and my husband got the Brisket Plate ($13) which came with corn, mac and cheese and some toast. The portions are smaller than at most restaurants, but I actually prefer the lower price and smaller portions. My fried chicken sandwich was delicious. The chicken was crispy and the slaw had carrots, jalapeno and celery. They were generous with the sliced pickles. I asked them to hold the mayo, which they did. I hate wet sloppy sandwiches, so it was perfect without the mayo. The fries were thin shoestring fries, my favourite type. They were crispy and so tasty. My husband also enjoyed my fries, lol. I also gave him a bite of my sandwich and he liked it too. My husband loves his Brisket Plate. I had a taste of the brisket and he gave me a lean piece because he knows I hate fatty meat and it was good. I also tried some of the mac and cheese and I liked that too. Apparently there was sweet potatoes in the mac and cheese, but I didn't taste it. I like how they give you water in a bottle, so you don't have to ask for refills (unless you drink more than the bottle, in which case I'm sure they'd give you a second bottle). Service was lovely. Although the patio is at the side of the restaurant and is next to a parking lot, the ambiance was good. I liked that some tables were in the shade (ours) but they had some in the sun for those who like that. The inside ambiance is more drinking hole-like, lol. It was loud and crowded. I preferred the patio environment. The Third is where The Blackpepper Urban Pub used to be. They actually kept one of the awnings that you can see from the patio; it says Blackpepper. The parking lot next door has limited parking spots and some are marked as reserved for SuzyQ (the donut shop) and others for QpiXXX (which used to be an "adult entertainment" store and it might still be, but now mostly sells bongs and other cannabis paraphernalia). Some spots are unmarked, so maybe customers of The Third can park there (?) I've seen Circle K customers parking there. Circle K is the business immediately west of the parking lot. We walked there, so I'm not entirely sure about the parking situation. My only regret is having waited this long to try The Third. We will definitely be returning. I want to try their Veggie Burger next :)

I'd give this location 3.5 stars (Yelp doesn't allow half stars, so I'm feeling generous and will up it to 4). Other locations I'd give 2 to 2.5 stars. On my most recent visit I had the Warm Goat Cheese and Walnut Salad and added a grilled chicken breast to it. I had this exact same dish at the Royal Oak on Centrepointe, and this location on Kent did it so much better. Firstly, the location on Kent used real mixed greens (and not just mixed greens on top of a huge pile of iceberg lettuce, like at Centrepointe). The panko-crusted goat cheese ball at the Kent location was also much bigger than at the Centrepointe location. The Kent location also had lots of bacon in the salad, whereas I didn't get any bacon in my salad at the Centrepointe location. The salad was bigger and much tastier at the Kent location. My husband had the liver and onions with fries. I had a few fries and they were great. Nice and crispy and tasted great with the gravy on the liver. I had a taste of some shared appetizers. There were some fish fingers and those tasted good. Crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The chicken wings were a bit on the small side, but good. The nachos were generously topped with toppings. Service was excellent. I think our server's name was Josh and he was really attentive. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and they really filled the glass, and as I was clinking glasses with others at the table, some of my drink spilled down the side of the glass. Without me having to ask, Josh brought over some extra napkins for me. And then when he noticed I was really having trouble getting the glass to be unsticky, he offered to pour my drink into a new glass. So he gave me a new glass, he even rimmed it with sugar and gave me new garnishes. How nice was that? This Kent Street location has a huge patio. The only drawback is that since it's in Centretown, there's no free parking, you have to park on the street.

We chose to sit at the bar, where we were greeted and given the regular menus. The whiskey menu is available on request. It contains extensive information on whiskies, and how to best enjoy them. A wide variety of predominantly Scotches were available, including a page of special more premium ones. Seven flights of 4 preselected Scotches were available, with 2 options: Tasting (0.5oz each, 2oz total) and Sipping (1oz each, 4oz total). Flight #8 was billed as "craft your own," with 10% off the total of each pour you selected. We each tried a separate flight, and most of the Scotches in these flights were aged 10 years or more. Evidently, there are not a lot of requests for flights, as our bartender was unfamiliar with some of the Scotches. A couple of them were not available, but similar ones were offered. Another clue that the bartender was not familiar with the flights was that he was not aware that the menu had list prices for each of the flights. He actually rang up each pour individually, which wound up being a higher total. I paid first, and we did not catch this, but we did catch it paying for the second flight. The bartender apologized, he corrected that bill, and he gave me $10 cash as compensation, which was quite satisfactory.
