The restaurant is inside the Embassy Suites Hotel, and it is surprisingly good and very affordable. Very spacious seating, excellent service and really good drinks and food. The Espresso Martini was served in a large glass, perfectly concocted, and only $12. The food was fresh and tasty. We had zero complaints. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We met Victor and ended up eating at Bogetta. The brunch was amazing, and Victor was the best server ever. He made our experience a complete 100%. The dates stuffed with sausage were wrapped in bacon and provided the perfect sweet and unexpected savory. We loved it! Hubby ordered the lemon pancakes. Amazing!!! The lemon zest was infused into the light and fluffy pancakes, set off by the light and refreshing lemon cream that was on top of the pancake. The edible fresh flowers and strawberries were a delightful and unexpected touch. I had the huveas sol and wow! Wow! Wow! Wow! The avocados were fresh and tender. The vegetable puree was a wonderful explosion of flavor in my mouth when combined with the perfectly cook sunny side up eggs. Everything we ate was a win! I hope to come back before we head back to California. Today is day one, and it has exceeded our expectations thus far.

We made a reservation here on a Saturday night and were seated immediately in their outdoor area. Our waiter was very competent and nice, and most importantly, so fast! We started with a round of cocktails (I recommend a cocktail over their sangria) and they were brought out within 10 minutes. We then ordered a variety of tapas, including the gnocchi a la brava (my personal favorite, we ended up getting an additional order!) and rabbit turnovers (pretty good but not the most flavorful). All the food came out quickly and we had zero issues. Great dinner spot!

I don't write reviews often, but this experience was absolutely worth taking the time to write one…read more All I can genuinely say is WOW. And honestly... how is Cocina Abierta not Michelin rated?! I decided to do four courses, and every single one was incredible. I started with the Crudo de Salmón Hawaiana with mango pascual, watermelon radish, and hibiscus flower. Then the Robalo al Horno de Leña with coconut beurre blanc, salicornia, and tamarind. For the main course, the Mofongo de Pato Criollo with duck chicharrón, duck and shiitake broth, and guava hoisin. And dessert was the Café with requesón, pâte à choux, and carambola. This was one of the most dynamic meals I've ever had. Every course was completely different, yet everything felt intentional, creative, and incredibly well-balanced. The flavors, textures, presentation, and creativity were on another level. What made the experience even more special was knowing that the ingredients are locally sourced and thoughtfully incorporated into the menu. You can genuinely taste the care that goes into every dish. And the hospitality? Unforgettable. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. Cocina Abierta absolutely blew me away. This is the kind of meal you remember long after you leave, and I will 100% be back. If you're in San Juan and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, go here.
