My husband and I were looking for a place to eat and we happened to find this one and let me tell you, this place was delicious, I got the Paella Marinera($42), calamar frito ($18), Fanta($5), and my husband got the Fettuccine Alfredo ($21)with chicken (+$7)and shrimp(+$9), and coke($6.5). He wasn't a fan of the chicken but the shrimp was very well cooked. Including the service charge everything came out to $142. It said the Paella serves 2 but I was able to eat 3/4 of it on my own ‍ it's really not that big but I'm either a party of 2 on my own or it's a good serving for 1 hungry person lol, it is served with enough protein for my liking. Service was immaculate, very friendly hostess and waitress with great recommendations. Ambiance was beautiful as well with city views, it was sprinkling while we were eating but we didn't get wet, well covered patio. I would definitely recommend people to try this place and whenever I'm back in Miami I would love to eat lunch or dinner here again. 10/10, 1000% recommend.

While most of the South Beach restaurants are loud and crowded, this one is quiet and classy! The dining room has an old world charm and art deco vibe. The food was exquisite ! We loved their rib eye steak and short ribs. They were prepared just right and the portion size was great! To me, the short ribs can feed two people (as long as you are not big eaters). Service was marvelous as well. Our server Laura was graceful and attentive. The manager also came out to greet us and shared some history of the place with us. Overall a wonderful dining experience at a price point that I consider very reasonable for the quality and ambiance they offered!

After looking at the reviews I presented Mareva 1939 as my top choice. I contacted them and made a reservation for 10 people, and after the first reservation time I had to adjust with Mareva for people arriving in late because of flights. No problem for Mareva and they didn't need a deposit for the restaurant. It is in the National Hotel, next to where we are staying box 1 check. The place was beautifully decorated and staff all attentive throughout the night. That was my criteria not my boss' since the lack of good service can destroy a great meal. The food choices all were excellent but centered on tapas and Spanish cuisine which checked the second box. Served family style we all chose a number of different tapas and shared. Then large patella dishes, they were plentiful and all delicious. Lastly the price, which may seem high for those outside the area but not for those who know Miami Beach. The bill for the 10 of us that included several drinks person and enough food and desserts to leave us full came to $1,002 including tip and taxes. All boxes checked and my boss and team happy, Mareva 1939 was a huge success.

I've also usually had very good service, and it's one of those places I genuinely enjoy coming back to. My only wish is that the portions were a little more generous for the price. I completely understand that this is Miami Beach, where everything from rent to operating a restaurant is expensive, so naturally the prices are going to reflect that. Still, $16 for pan con tomate, which is essentially bread with tomato, feels a little steep even by Miami Beach standards. That being said, the food is REALLY good, and there's a reason I keep coming back. It remains one of my favorite places for tapas, and if you love Spanish food, it's definitely worth trying. Just expect Miami Beach prices and plan on ordering several plates if you're hungry!

We will definitely be back to try a few other small bites and cocktails. Cheers!

Their white sangria was delicious, and they have some really good drink specials. We tried quite a few dishes, including the croquetas, patatas bravas, steak with chimichurri, Spanish jamón, and bone marrow. The steak was one of my favorites, and the croquetas were fantastic! Everything we ordered was delicious, and I really enjoyed being able to try so many different things instead of just ordering one big meal. What I love most about this place is the atmosphere. It's lively but still has that intimate feel that makes it perfect for a date. You can sit back, enjoy your sangria, share a bunch of tapas, and have a great evening without feeling rushed.
