I was craving some Mexican food and decided to try a new spot, so I came to La Costa del Sol. I ordered a steak quesadilla, and honestly, it might be one of the best quesadillas I've ever had. The steak was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. The guacamole and pico de gallo were fresh and really complemented the dish. I also appreciated that they included shredded lettuce on the side, that's a small touch that I always enjoy having it with my quesadilla. The only downside was the sour cream. It was really watery, and I was a little nervous that it might've been spoiled. That part was disappointing. Overall though, the steak quesadilla was amazing. I'll definitely be back for that and I might even try the steak burrito next time. read more

Coworkers ordered food here and someone picked it up so I've never been to the restaurant but let me say that the food is affordable and delicious. I got papusas and super nachos! This is my 2nd time here and I have enjoyed it both times! I ordered 4 pupusas: 2 Jalapeños and cheese and 2 pork and cheese. Both were absolutely delicious and so flavorful! My friend loved the al pastor burrito. Service was quick (20 minutes for 3 orders) and the place was pretty cool with music playing in the background. read more

The price was expensive! for 3 super burritos, carne asada plate, 3 regular tacos and 2 sweet empanadas went over $100!! The meat did not taste the best, we all got cabeza on the burritos and it had a sour taste that did not taste right AT ALL. The carne asada plate was a bit better but was tough. Tacos were okay but it was a very disappointing dinner. Couldn't even finish the food. Would not come again. There's better options around Vallejo that you can go to! read more

The food is always great. The pupusas are filled with cheese, pork and beans. The service can be a bit slow since the food is made to order. They expanded the restaurant double its original size which makes it more convenient and practical especially with wheelchairs. read more

One of my new favorite local spots. Ordered some pupusas and they were some of the best I've had.also had a super burrito and it was very tasty as well - loved how it wasn't super dry like some other spots we go to. Ordered to go, and it was so-so. They have 30 minutes for order to be ready and it was when we got there. But 30 minutes, if we had been waiting to eat in, would have been too long. We ordered a carnitas burrito and it was good. Nothing to call home about. The pupupas were also ok. Not so flavorful, just average. The curtido also average. The las dish was chicken soup. Apparently it was ok, but it had no chicked. Just broth and vegetables. However, we were provided with a side dish we did not order. It was two chicken quarters (leg and thighs) with rice and salad. The chicken was dry, seems had been on a warmer for hours. Had not much flavor either. We belived this side dish was part of the chicken for the soup, but we were not sure. I've tried a lot of Mexican food in Vallejo and Del Sol is still my #1 pick. Food is always on point. They have a big menu from tacos, burritos, pupusas, menudo, plates, fried fish, agua chile, etc. There is a lot. They are all good. Trust They recently expanded, so more space for diners once they complete the expansion. Customer service is hit or miss, but the food is good. read more

We only come here for the pupusas. They are not the BEST pupusas, but much better than the other spots in Vallejo. Super cheesy, but overly greasy. Still tear them up though. Rice and beans have zero flavor. Rice is usually over cooked. I always forget this and I keep ordering them and then I end up wasting it. read more

My dad been taking me here forever, he's gone now & I still make sure I stop by every time I'm in Vallejo. (The employees are so nice there's this one lady that's been there forever, wish I knew her name she's quite lovely.) It's a small restaurant so I usually order to go but you can definitely dine in if you please. The pupusas are TO DIE FOR. The curitido is the best I've had & I've tried so many other places. The Papusas are delicious. They are very reasonably priced. Actually right up there with some of the best I've ever had. The Curtido is always spot on with the perfect pairing. The steak tacos were not horrible, but more on the dry side. The corn tortillas were great. Unfortunately, there was a beard hair or some other facial hair in our rice, which is completely disgusting. Made me question the rest of the food and grossed me out. read more

Nice small business. I ordered the Steak Fries with Carne Asada. They were okay. I also ordered a Mexican horchata drink, it was okay as well. I looked up on yelp where I could find steak fries in Vallejo and I was directed to this location. I've tried steak fries before and unfortunately, these didn't really satisfy my craving. The outside was grilled to perfection--well done... *not* undercooked like some pupuserias. Lively Latin music played at a nice volume where you can talk with your companions. Merengue and more. You give your order and are given a number. You pick your own seat. Signs are bilingual--mostly Latin patrons, which is my usual litmus test that usually means the food has authentic flavor, which I love and look for from ethnic dining experiences. It's very clean and looks freshly painted. I was here just before noon and there was a steady stream of patrons.

The lady at the front told me 5more minutes for my order, I waited 10mins and nothing. When I went to ask again she told me my order had just come through their system? Make that make sense! And on top of that there were other orders just sitting on the counter getting cold and the lady at the front cares more about peeling mangos with her back to the front door then handing out the orders to the customers that are waiting! The manager talk to me and was able to get me my order but guess what? They gave me the wrong order. We tried the pupusas we were given, they were dry and barely any filling inside. So not even the food is good. Bad customer service which is very sad because i drove from Santa Rosa to give this location a try. Will not be coming back.
