What $17 gets you, I used an old fork from Wendy's the one you get is useless
Steve D.

I was stuck in standby and thought I would get something to eat. The ordering process makes everything an additional charge at the end for $17 I got $3 worth of rice, beans and chicken in a cheap styrofoam container with flimsy fork well it's Martha's Vineyard and there are tourists to fleece, I live here I won't be back. Skip this place and go down the street unless of course you like being fleeced.

It was good!!! Just the right amount of everything. Clean, friendly and quick. Note they only take cash. Less than a 5 minute walk from the Ferry.

this is the chicken bowl. it's all really good, fresh and tasty.

Guy behind the counter was very rude. Food was not good. There are better options nearby. Wouldn't waste my money at this pit.

We've gotten takeout from Waterside in the past, but this was our first time dining in, and wow,…read morewhat a poorly run institution. The folks in the kitchen looked like they were hustling, but we saw several customers complaining about how long it was taking their food to come in. Something is not good with the work flow, and while the guy running around was super nice and professional, the girl who took our order was downright rude. Even though we ordered for dining in, our food still came out in a to-go bag. Why? So annoying. The kale chicken caesar was deconstructed, so you have to mix it all up yourself with limited space and utensils. The whole point of eating at the restaurant is so they can do it for you! We do love the harissa cauliflower sandwich that we always order, but every time that we've had it, it's always undersalted. Our daughter's tomato soup was good (if you like a verrrry heavy cream base) but parts of it had slopped over the side from being in the bag and the paper started disintegrating. Unprofessional. We tried a couple of their baked goods for the first time and they were OK. The chocolate chip cookie struck a nice balance between crispy and chewy, but we weren't fans of the pumpkin blondie. We're on the fence of whether we'd come back in person again since this was a pretty disastrous experience in the off-season. We can't even imagine during summertime! Three stars. Do better.

Dairy Queen is delicious. Really can't go wrong. Best soft serve, lots of fun flavors and toppings…read more They are known for their blizzards which are blended soft serve with toppings. The dip cones do get messy though if you don't like that.

I even heard one guy tell me a long story about how it is simply a story to test the gullibility of tourists. But it is true, there definitely is a DQ on the vineyard and it's been there for a long time. Surprisingly it's not a particular nice one, sort of old and dumpy looking, rather incongruent with the rest of opulent and historic edgartown. I've been by it a zillion times but still get a chuckle every time I see that DQ sign. I would love to know the story of exactly how someone managed to get a Diary Queen in that particular location. It's actually very convenient, right near the famous crossroads. The point where you can go into Edgartown and Chappy, up to Oak Bluffs or down to South Beach or out to West Tisbury and Gay Head. A great place for a break when biking a loop of the island. They probably do a ton of business and it's usually crowded when I stop by. The Vineyard is inundated with expensive gourmet and home made this or that. People probably enjoy seeing a place that they can get some ice cream without bankrupting themselves. So no matter what anyone tells you , there is a Diary Queen on Martha's Vineyard. Nothing special, just like a lot of other DQ's in other, less affluent areas. Just sitting there, giving out the usual blizzards and dipped cones, unobtrusively going about it's business while silently giving the finger to the rest of the island.

For lunch our crew ordered the veggie cake Benedict, Vineyard Benedict, veggie breakfast sandwich, cod cakes, grilled cheese and yogurt granola bowl. There wasn't a single item we wouldn't order again. They also had one of the crispiest cokes I have ever had the delight to taste. I have tried the yogurt granola bowls at lots of spots on Martha's Vineyard and this one was by far my favorite. My friend that ordered the lobster roll said it was outstanding and we all loved how crispy the bread/English muffins were. I loved Lucky Hank's and can't wait to come back for lunch and to try their dinner menu!

I went with their cod cakes and eggs, served up with lobster sauce, two fried-over-easy eggs, home fries, and multigrain toast. First time ever having cod cakes, and they didn't disappoint -- light, well-seasoned, and surprisingly addictive. The lobster sauce gave it that extra richness without overpowering the dish. The home fries were crisp without being greasy, and the multigrain toast rounded it out nicely. This wasn't just a solid breakfast -- it's one I'll be adding to my own kitchen playbook. In fact, I'll be trying to whip this up for my wife when we get back home. Verdict: A strong bite, definitely worth the stop if you're on the Vineyard. I eat, I judge. The fork stops with me -- your feelings aren't on the menu.

I was a little hesitant given the ratings but I have no regrets. You order at the window and pick up your food so not much service to speak of, but the cashier's were nice and helpful and the bartender crushed it. I had a banana mudslide concoction that was absolutely delicious and perfect on a warm late summer day. I will almost always go for a lobster roll (warm with butter, please) and this time was no different. Price was on par with what you'd expect for a lobster roll on the island and the portions were more than I expected, a lovely surprise. Tables were clean and I snagged a picnic table with a view of the water. Needless to say I was happy as a clam and would absolutely come back.

This place has a little bit of everything, but there are two things you can't leave without trying. First, the fried shrimp. I know, it sounds basic, but these are on another level. Lightly battered, seasoned just right, and cooked perfectly -- no heavy breading to hide the flavor, just clean, fresh shrimp done right. Second, head downstairs to their outdoor bar, Donovan's Reef, and get yourself a Dirty Banana. Think of it as a Mudslide's cooler, smoother cousin. Donovan himself makes every drink, and if you're like me and don't want your cocktail overpowered by alcohol, this is the perfect balance -- sweet, smooth, and dangerously easy to sip. Nancy's is usually one of my first stops when I hit the island, and for good reason. Simple, fresh, and consistent. Verdict: Island staple, no debate. I eat, I judge. The fork stops with me -- your feelings aren't on the menu.
