Recently moving to the area, we were on a hunt to find good local food. We were craving Mexican and this place was one of the higher yelp rated restaurants so we decided to give it a try. Due to the pandemic, we ordered take-out of various dishes from the macho burrito to the super nachos. Portions were a bit small for the price we paid but the dishes were flavorful. My wife and I and kids decided to stop here after a long day of running around Covington. We seen that this place had OK reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try ourselves. We thought the quality of food was pretty good and fresh and their prices were comprable for the quality of food that they put out. The only reason I did not give this 5 star is because their service was a little slow for this little busy restaurant. In fact, it's really hard for me to give this review because I have always said you can put out the best awesome tasting food in the whole entire world, but if your service stinks it makes the experience worse. We are up in arms if we would return to this place in the future, and up in arms if we would recommend this place. We would have to give it another try before I would recommend either of the two. I love the servers, but this definitely is not an authentic, or remotely close to being Mexican food. Rice, beans and meat doesn't = Mexican! Every time I've come here I've left with an upset stomach and the last time my hubby and I visited we had the sh**s the next day. Too much food on the plate. The food was a mix of good and not good. The white queso was good. The tacos al carbon was good. The rice seemed stale or reheated. Definitely not fresh. The chips, though warm, still seemed stale. The service was very slow. One of the staff was trying to make up for our waitress but even then The restaurant is in a location that was previously a Pho restaurant. I visited Las Margaritas Grill on Tuesday 1-20-18. We sat in the front part, at a table. The staff didn't warn us that it would be very cold. They then came in and changed the TV channel on me, with no regard that I was watching what was on. The Service was just okay, not bad but nothing special. The food was the best part. It was good to very good. Overall, I'm not a fan. There is a better Mexican Restaurant (Puerto Vallarta) about a mile away. I've been to Las Margaritas several tunes over the past year. I feel lately the dishes that I have tried has been more flavorful. I especially like there pollo con Crema and their fajitas. The chips and salsa have been inconsistent. Some days they are fresh and the salsa is spicy and has an excellent flavor. But then I tried later in the week and the chips seemed rather stale and the salsa not spicy. My girls and I love their horchata. I ordered a cocktail the other day. It was very delicious. But I didn't taste alcohol. It definitely could've been what I ordered. I would like to give it 3.5 stars but it's not an option. There really isn't great Mexican food in Kent or Covington that I have found at least. But I will continue to go and try new things. read more

I wouldn't recommend going here. My parents used to frequent this restaurant, then I also started going often. Ordering takeout and bringing it back home. The problem is, they are very greedy. 1.50 for a super small tiny cup of Pico de Gallo, 2.99 for an extra bag of chips even though I got 3 meals which cost 65 dollars. And the breaking point for me was when my dad got 0 enchilada sauce on his enchiladas today. I mean, 0. They were bone dry. When I tried calling the restaurant to tell them, they argued in Spanish with the cooks in the background- then came back to the phone and told me I was lying. I offered to take a photo, but they assured me I was wrong. They didn't offer to comp the 14.95 dinner, just to give me a "free extra sauce" when I came back. No thanks. Your customer service is horrible for a restaurant business, and the dinner should of been refunded. I wouldn't go out of the way to make a phone call during eating to lie to you about having no sauce. To add, my parents told me the chips were stale. Las Margaritas Grill earned three stars from me, but with a few minor tweaks, it could easily earn four. We tried LMG for lunch today, after it had been open for about 8 weeks and had time to settle in. This small space was previously occupied by a "Pho" spot and the Las Margaritas folks have done a good job of converting the decor to Mexican. The space is clean and gets lot of lightt, and they've carved out a tiny bar section at the back of the "L" shaped rows of tables. I ordered what the menu describes as their "most popular" Carne Asada burrito. The steak and other fillings were tasty, and it was accompanied by fresh guacamole and grilled onions on the side, which went really well with the asada. Nice looking presentation, nice portion size, and fairly priced at around $11. We had the free chips and salsa and a free refill. A previous reviewer wondered whether the chips were "stale." I doubt it. Ours arrived fresh and hot, but the thicker tortilla used for the chips at LMG means if they aren't consumed quickly, they may come off as "hard," as the previous reviewer has described them. So here are a few areas where Las Margaritas Grill could do better. Lunch menu. There isn't one. Somewhat smaller portions (and lower prices) would be welcome at lunch time. Drinks. The margaritas here seem to be all based on Cuervo Gold, including the premium pours, like their "Cadillac" margarita. It would be helpful to have at least a couple of options that use a 100% agave tequila and fresh-squeezed lime juice. For such a small restaurant, I think it would be smart for them to have a stronger cocktail program, and a bar food and "happy hour" menu. Staffing. There was one hostess and only one waiter working the room, with a busy lunch crowd. They were both very friendly, but the pace of the service suffered from a waiter who was quite badly over-worked. Online presence. More than two months after opening, I don't see any web site or Facebook page connected to Las Margaritas Grill. Since there is an (unrelated) regional chain of restaurants also called "Las Margaritas" a web search for this little restaurant can be confusing and/or frustrating. I like seeing menus online when I am making up my mind where to go, and I'm sure I'm not alone, so a simple web site that could be easily found would be a welcome tool. With a few simple changes, Las Margaritas could become a very strong option for Mexican food in the Covington/Maple Valley area. I hope the owner(s) will put some energy into upping their game. But if you don't mind a weak bar, some service hiccups, and no lunch menu, you'll enjoy it well enough as is. read more

Had dinner here last Friday night. I ordered the same fajita burrito as last time, and my guy ordered the same Dos Burritos combo. What an awful experience. The food tasted awful, I mean seriously awful. I'm not sure if they were upset that we came in close to closing time and ordered, but the food was so bad that we could not finish it. Last night my beautiful wife and I decided to try Las Margaritas Grill. We were not expecting this restaurant to be a full service style place, but rather a smaller grill type place. It was pleasant and clean, not loud or rude. I ordered a carne asada burrito which was prepared just right, the meat was plump and tenderly grilled and seasoned, the guac was great, Mexican cole slaw was great. Wife had the chile relleno which was fresh not pre-cooked, and a tamale which she also liked. We were in and out within an hour. We were expecting a nice Mexican grill and that's what we got. Price with tip was about $30. Interesting to note that I hear a lot of people complain about increasing costs at restaurants, and many times it's the same people who support raising the minimum wage to $15/hr or higher. I can't understand why they don't equate rising labor costs with rising prices. Oh well, we'll be going back to Las Margaritas Grill whenever we want a fast fresh sit-down Mexican meal. read more

We love this place! We've been going here for years. In fact, we used to eat at the old location for about 15 years before that. Great food and great service. Wonderful atmosphere. The staff really takes great care of you. Every one of the waiters does a nice job in helping you. They also are great on catering, as we've had them cater a couple of events for us including our daughter's wedding. Claro and Chewy run a great restaurant. Just sit and watch how many different customers they know. They chat with everybody at the tables all the time. Chewy is quite the hugger. If you want a delicious meal, that's fast and serve with a smile, then we recommend this place. It's a must go. read more

I actually hate myself for not trying this place sooner. I got the fish tacos and my husband got a trio plate with carne asada , shrimp, and chicken . It's nice getting fish tacos where the fish is actually fresh . Great sauce on them also. We also got the jalepeno rellenos for an appetizer . We went here last night. The service was horrible, the food was not very good, the music was blaringly loud, and I felt as if my family and I were an inconvenience. I will never go back here again. Our initial waitress actually blew me off when I had asked about a drink. She quickly went and assisted another table and didn't return to take our drink order or deliver water or chips. I had asked for the music to be turned down slightly, as I was with my husband and children, they initially turned it down but soon the music was back up and way to loud. I had ordered black beans with my meal but ended up with runny refried beans anyway. I mentioned this to our "new" waitress who quickly said, "oh I placed the order with black beans" and continued to blame the kitchen staff for the mistake, never once offering to replace my beans, which were inside my burrito. This was not a great experience, and to top it off the prices are outrageous.
