    Lobster Grilled Cheese
    Emily H.

Five years since I last enjoyed La Chasse -- wow, I can't believe it's been that long. I have fond memories of dining here, when my husband's grandparents visited town, when a girlfriend and I enjoyed several glasses of wine and apps (we did "girl dinner" before it was a thing) and most recently when my mother in law wanted to come here for her 70th birthday. All have been intimate, enjoyable and delicious meals. During my most recent visit, we found that the menu had been cut down compared to before -- a well curated list of offerings. Looks like there is also a new executive chef compared to the last time I was here. We started with the gravlax crostinis and then grilled brie. Both were great. For my entree I got the lobster grilled cheese, which came with roasted garlic tomato soup. In terms of high end grilled cheese, this was that. The bread was grilled perfectly. I wish there may have been a bit more lobster in my sandwich, but I would happily order this again. We also enjoyed wine and cocktails. I miss the extensive cocktail menu from before, but everyone very much enjoyed what we got. Our server was also helpful in helping us decide what to order. La Chasse is small, so it can be hard to hear what your dinner mates are saying, but you get used to the intimate space. La Chasse has been reliably good with great service over the years. I know we'll be back!

This restaurant has been around a while but they posted a reel on IG so I had to check it out! We made a reservation for the following week. It wasn't all that busy on a weekday night but there were a few groups dining in as well. Most of us started with wine. Delicious! We also shared the crab cake. It was well-seasoned with some kind of tomato sauce. So good! They also gave us complimentary bread and butter. Was it rosemary? Not sure the herbs they put in the butter but it was standout! For entrees, I decided on the burger since our server said it's the best in town. My burger was juicy, but the patty itself wasn't the most flavorful. Maybe I like a lot of salt lol The bacon onion jam and Gruyère on it were a nice sweet and savory combo! My friends got the lobster grilled cheese and the cauliflower steak. They really enjoyed everything! The menu is small, but the workers really know the menu. I wouldn't mind coming back to get escargot or steak since it's a French restaurant. It's got a cozy vibe which was nice. It's not a large space but there are a good number of tables. Service was good. There was only one server but she never seemed stressed! She was helpful giving recommendations and explaining the menu. They do have a parking lot at the back, but we found parallel parking right in front of the skate shop next door without an issue.

I haven't been back here for a while and came back to try the menu again. I made an early reservation and was the only there when I arrived and was seated quickly. Complimentary bread came out soft and warm! And it came with cheese spread instead of butter. Salmon canapé These were good but a bit too salty because of the smoked salmon and the herb mousse. Duck à l'orange Duck was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It was slightly over salted but it was okay eating it with the thinly cut potatoes. Didn't like the broccolini as much because they were chewy and tough.

Intimate dining experience. I really enjoyed that it was a smaller restaurant. The food was excellent and the service was great and very attentive. Would recommend making a reservation.

Saturday night reservation for 6 while we had some family in town. Super lively and busy atmosphere. Our server was wonderful (attentive but not overbearing). Bourbon Brie and lobster fritter appetizer specials were great. The 14oz Ribeye special with asparagus and potatoes and red wine glaze was unforgettable. Everyone at the table loved their entrees which included the salmon, chicken, and cauliflower. We also got creme brûlée and chocolate mousse for a dessert. Only slight issue we had was having the table directly in front of the lone entrance door which had a large group of people standing over top of us for about 15 minutes while waiting for their table. Overall, La Chasse has crept into my top 3 to 4 restaurants in Louisville without a doubt!

La Chasse is a regular on the restaurant rotation for me. Some times I get a craving to pop in for the burger and when I hear the specials, I divert to the creative special of the evening. The menu is alway seasonal and fresh to keep me coming back all year around!

My fiancé and I had a Valentine's Day dinner here this last year, and we had a great meal! I love the ambiance here. Low lighting makes the experience very romantic. For Valentine's Day, they had a rose sitting out at every table for the ladies which I thought was a very nice touch. For appetizers we had the mussels and baked brie. The flavor of the mussels was not to my liking but that was just me. My fiancé enjoyed them and I very much enjoyed the baked brie! For our entrees, I had the cauliflower steak and my fiancé had their duck breast special. DOn't get me wrong, I'm not a vegetarian but I do like the occasional vegetarian dish. The cauliflower steak did not lack flavor at all! For dessert, we had their beignets... so delicious!! Great experience overall!!

Everything was AMAZING. Such a hidden gem! We started with the escargot and the honey and manchego potatoes which were both so delicious. But what I want to rave about is the salmon. I never order salmon at restaurants, because I feel like that's something I can make at home, but not this one!!! It was PHENOMENAL and I was so shocked how perfect the dish complimented every ingredient. Definitely recommend. My boyfriend got the burger which was also amazing. The service was also great!!! Our server had the perfect balance of being attentive and letting us enjoy our meal. Honestly I would say La Chasse is a 10/10!!! I rarely write reviews but it was such a great dining experience that I had to.

THE best food I've had in my 18+ years living in Louisville. Heard about La Chasse at work by a fellow foodie so I had to try. From the moment you walk in the door it's amazing. The dim lighting, the welcoming staff. The best service I've ever encountered. Please support local and visit this place. You'll be missing out otherwise!! They have an extensive wine/cocktail list (not a long beer list for the brewsky lovers). I had the Spanish Grimlet which the server said was her favorite!! Y'all when I talk about a cocktail trust me it's a must try.... This is a savory version of the Gimlet with Latin flavors of cilantro, cumin & hot pepper. I had two and I don't apologize for it. They had several specials for the day one of them being the Asian Cabbage Pancake. I was going more towards the escargot (be still my heart); but, thankfully my date picked this savory, scrumptious appetizer. There are no words to describe the wonderful flavors. It was "lick your plate good". I chose the La Chasse Burger with Pomme Frites for my entree and he chose the Filet Au Poivre. The filet was a Classic French masterpiece and was cooked perfectly. Now let's get to the juicy juicy......DESSERT & COFFEE. One thing about Louisville restaurants I've found that it's difficult to find a place with kick butt food, dessert AND coffee. Eureka!! We struck gold. French press coffee that was delicious paired with the Orange Marmalade Cheesecake. This wasn't a typical cheesecake. It was amazing. The crust was perfection. The filling was not too sweet because the star was the orange marmalade. If I could give this 10 stars I would. It was really that good.

Blackened salmon over saffron risotto, steak and broccolini.

Staff was quite pleasant, food was really just perfect (I'm a food snob, if I can make better at home, I hate paying for it). Drinks were great. Everything was just pretty awesome. One thing I absolutely appreciated, labeling AND dating my to go boxes! Love it!

Went here to celebrate my birthday with my family. I had never been but my parents had years ago and recommended it. Everything was very yummy!!! Menu is small (so I would not recommend for picky eaters) but everything is good!! They allowed substitution for side on my entree. Only complaint is service was super slow. I believe they may have been over staffed, but there was only probably 3 parties there (weeknight). I think the waitress may have been spread slightly thin to give her the benefit of the doubt. But even the bar tender took a long time for very simple drinks like a beer or glass of wine despite him having only 3 or 4 tables to cover drinks for.

Amazing meal last night at LaChasse! They had Big Al's Burgers and Shakes night, a special menu that comes out a few times a year with several different burger options, a chicken sandwich and milkshakes. Had the surf and turf burger - 8oz brisket burger with lobster tail, béarnaise frites. Table shared the cheese fries and the beignets. Had a boozy shake that was to die for. Menu below. Worth every penny. Everything was prepared perfectly and the service was fantastic. Well done Chef Alex! Don't miss this special menu next time it's available. Big Al's Burgers 'n' Shakes! Menu: La Chasse Cheese Fries--Candied house smoked pork belly, gruyere and parmesan mornay. 15 Smoked Cheddar Burger--8 oz Brisket Burger, topped with house smoked pork belly, aged cheddar, roasted garlic aioli, house garlic-poppy bun, frites. 22 Surf 'n' Turf Burger--8 oz Brisket Burger, butter-poached lobster tail, chives, bearnaise, sweet pepper jam, Old Bay potato bun. 43 Tokyo "General Tso's" Fried Chicken Sandwich--Fried Chicken, house General Tso glaze, Napa cabbage-carrot-peanut slaw, Kewpie aioli, house scallion bun. 22 La Chasse Burger--8 oz Brisket Burger, bacon-onion jam, Dijon-garlic aioli, gruyere cheese, house rosemary-potato bun. 18 Vanilla Malt Shake--10 Vanilla Chocolate Shake-- 10

Last Friday night we headed over to La Chasse on Bardstown Road for dinner. Round 1 of drinks. I had something I'm going to call "Framboise 75". I can't remember the name and their drinks are not listed on their website. It did have "75" at the end of name but that is all I remember. No matter the name, it was delicious! Nick had a cocktail with mezacal (I can't remember the name of it either) we weren't big fans of that, but our server came right over and he ordered a replacement of a moscow mule. The mule was great. Appetizers consisted of salads for both of us. -Persimmon Salad - Sliced persimmons, Asian Lettuce, Pomegranate, County Ham, Whipped Ricotta & Feta w/ a citrus/champagne vinaigrette. -Roasted Brussel Sprouts Salad - Roasted Sprouts, Marcona Almonds, Chorizo, Shallots, Goat Cheese & a Chorizo Vinaigrette Both Salads were amazing. I loved the lightness of the persimmons and the paired delightfully with the ricotta & Feta. The acid in the vinaigrette brightened the dish. Nick's brussel sprout Salad was definitely our favorite. The sprouts were roasted to a crispy perfection. Entrées -Coal Grilled Ora King Salmon - Mushroom Risotto, Garlic-Lemon Beurre Blanc, Sautéed Spinach w/ Tomato Jam & Crispy Shallots -Crab Encrusted Cod - w/ Creamy Leek Sauce, Grilled Potatoes, Asparagus, & Shiitake Mushrooms The salmon was the clear winner for us. I loved the flavors of the salmon with the risotto & beurre blanc. I gonna say of the salmon dishes we've had in Louisville this one just moved into the lead for the #1 spot. I've never left anything behind at a restaurant, but for some reason tonight I left my sunglasses hanging on my chair. The host Marshall noticed and called us to let me know. He left them at the host stand and we swung back by to pick them up. Special thanks to Marshall for saving my sunglasses! Although our first, this was not our last visit here.

The bartender ultimately told me that I could just seat myself wherever I wanted, so I did. There were maybe 3 table seated at this point, it was not that busy. Then it took yet another chunk of time (6 pages read in my book I never leave home without) before I got water and menus. I was frustrated but was looking forward to seeing my friend and was ready to make the most of it. All that said, I like the vibe of the space. The dark, cozy vibes. We came because we wanted cocktails and something to nosh on. And eventually we got that. We shared a flatebread and an Asian-inspired hushpuppy sort of situation. They were pretty tasty and nice to have with our cocktails. The cocktail list is longer than expected and with a lot of intriguing sounding offerings. The two I had were very tasty and delicious! I would maybe come back again and sit at the bar so a solo visit if I had a stretch of time and no rush. My overall memory of the visit is still about the over-long wait/being ignored for such a long time after entering.
