Quality spot, always enjoy my visits here. The menu is always brief, but it seems to be a product of focusing on quality over quantity. There's always enough variety to suit any appetite. Cocktails are creative and well-made. Excellent service both throughout the restaurant and at the bar. Good balance of a feeling a little higher end but still relaxed (highly recommend the porch on a pleasant evening)...I've been in a suit and in shorts and a polo and felt perfectly welcome either way.

The bar and a bit of the dining room.

What a great spot! Louisville friends brought us here as it's one of their very favorite and we enjoyed it immensely. We walked in to the sounds of a live pianist who was very talented, very pleasant atmosphere. The service was wonderful (thank you, Ken!), the food was even better. I had their burger, excepting the hot pickle because I'm a spice-wimp. The meat was a bit south of medium rare but I'm ok with rare at a good restaurant. Nice char. The Dijon based sauce was outstanding and really took this up a notch. Their french fries are shoestring type and perfectly delicious. RRR got one of the specials, the filet mignon, medium rare and it came out rare. Very rare. Neither of us send meals back to the kitchen unless it's inedible and he was able to eat it, just found some of it tough. His green beans were also a bit too al dente. The mashed potatoes were really good. We had no space for dessert but they looked amazing. So sad we couldn't partake. This will be our first go-to spot when we visit again!

The Pine Room is a bit outside of our typical radius for go-to dining options, but if that's the case for you as well, don't let the location deter you. We visited for dinner, and I opted for the special, a filet served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We also enjoyed the decadent chocolate bourbon cake, because let's face it, combining chocolate and bourbon is a match made in dessert heaven! Everything was pretty good. Beyond the food, the ambiance is great for a date or intimate dinner. The soft lighting, along with the live piano music, creates a cozy atmosphere. It's an ideal spot for a relaxed evening with friends or a special occasion.

Literally the best restaurant in Louisville. Best strongest drinks also. Ignore any review that is not 5 stars

I was always intrigued by the Pine Room when I drove by. So I was pleased to find out that it had the simple elegance, excellent service, and delicious menu that I would've expected when I visited recently. We went early on a Friday evening and had a reservation. I would highly recommend a reservation, and even going early is helpful, as this place is popular and got hopping pretty quickly. We were led to our booth and seated, before promptly being greeted by our server. We started with drinks - Harrods Creek Fizz for me - and ordered a round of mussels and fries to start with. The fizz was very tart to begin with and got a little less sharp by the end of the drink. I might try something else next time. As far as food, the mussels were really delicious in a coconut milk broth, and the shoestring French fries were perfect when dunked in some mayo (which we requested on the side). For our entrees, we all chose the salmon (which is gluten-free to boot!). We all agreed that the temperature, texture, and flavor were excellent. The couscous was a good addition but had some spice to it that I actually could have done without (mostly because I was sharing with our high chair guest and the spice didn't suit them). The place became a hive of activity as our meal progressed. People gathered at the bar and a pianist started up some tunes, which heightened the festive atmosphere. I am so glad that we got to visit the Pine Room and enjoy our dinner there. If it's on your list of places to try, I recommend that you give it a go soon!

I've never been to this part of the city. The restaurant is tucked away among the trees. It's so charming and clean inside. I was only a party of 1 and was seated immediately. Server was great. I didn't order an appetizer so the food pace was off a bit, between getting my drink and entree but I understand. I ordered a mocktail Harrod's Creek Fizz Super yummy and not too sweet Entree - Salmon with pesto couscous This was sooo good Salmon was medium in temp which was perfect - moist and rich. Flavor was amazing. The pesto couscous was delicious. Panna cotta dessert - this was excellent too! Raspberry sorbet was refreshing. Whipped cream went well with the panna cotta. I'm used to panna cotta being a bit looser but the flavor was so good that it's okay! Highly recommend I originally wanted the cherry pie but it is a 15 min wait. I'll have to come back and order it ahead of time.

Steak frites

This is such a cute place on river road. I'll be come back for the decor and ambiance alone. All the appetizers my table got were amazing and I wish I remembered to take pictures. The brussel sprouts and pretzel bread with bourbon queso were so good but the real star was the cauliflower. Definitely will be going back to do an appetizer night here. I thought the appetizers were the best part of the meal. For my entree I got the bolognese. It was pretty good but I've gotten the fried chicken before and liked that better. I also tried the pork chop which was good and the flank steak which was a little chewy. I know flank steak is usually a bit tougher but this was a little too tough.

One Sunday afternoon we had a free time in our schedule and decided Prova would be our destination. We arrived shortly after they opened and were greeted by a festively decorated space that immediately set the mood. The friendly bartender welcomed us, and we took seats at the bar. After looking over the Christmas drink menu, I went with the Yippee-Ki-Cocoa Motherf**er--and wow, it was incredible. Made with truffle bourbon, chocolate amaro, cocoa, and topped with whipped cream and popcorn butter dust, it was hands-down delicious. My wife chose the Zabaione eggnog and reluctantly let me have a taste--it was excellent as well. From the Hemingway's Holiday Spain to the Gingerbread Man-Hatten, every drink we tried was fantastic. They were out of a couple of items, but that barely put a dent in our options. And I can't forget to mention our bartender--he was outstanding: knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. We're already looking forward to going back and ordering from their standard menu.

I've been a few times now and it's always very chill and relaxing, and I love the music selection. When you walk in the plant shop is in the front and the bar is in the back. I recommend heading to the bar, grabbing a delicious hand crafted cocktail and relaxing for a bit. However if you're super eager to shop grab a cocktail to enjoy while you walk around the store. I've only ever had the Carajillo bc it's so damn good. It's light, refreshing and delicious. It consists of dark matter cold brew, Licor 43, Paranubes Cafe de Olla, Alma Tepec pasilla chile liqueur, hazelnut, cinnamont. They have the best mezcal by the bottle selection which I believe you can purchase some online. While sitting at the bar, I noticed all the bottles neatly displayed on the shelf behind the bar and none of the labels are ones I've ever seen before. In addition to being able to shop for plants, they also offer Plant workshops that you can sign up for online! Some of the workshops include a price for two people so pay attention to what you're signing up for. And if you happen to get hungry and need a snack, they also offer a few light bar snacks that consists of chips and salsa, spicy oaxacan peanuts, spicy pickled carrots, and Nemi Mexican lime crunchy snack.

Behind the lush greenery and unassuming storefront is Pretty Decent, a mezcal bar that's anything but "pretty decent"--it's ridiculously cool. My only regret is that I didn't get more pictures to share because this place is very cool. But I was enjoying myself too much to be bothered with my phone. The vibe? Immaculately chill. Moody lighting, thoughtful design, and a playlist that makes you want to stay all night. It's the kind of place that feels like a secret you're lucky to be in on. We started with a Paloma recommended by Ethan (bartender and apparently low-key rockstar). It was refreshing, perfectly balanced, and an excellent recommendation.. We chatted mezcal, music, and more--Ethan's the kind of bartender who makes you feel like a regular on your first visit. Got to talk mezcal with the owner, John, who's clearly passionate and seriously knowledgeable. He shared stories about sourcing, traveling, and working directly with producers. Learned more in 10 minutes from him than I have from any spirit tasting I've done. Super generous with his time and samples, which led to me walking out with a bottle of Espadín, an agave spirit, I'm now obsessed with. You don't find places like this often. It's got soul, character, and people who actually care about what they're doing. Come for the plants, stay for the mezcal. Pretty Decent? Nah--Pretty Damn Exceptional.

We had the privilege of meeting Blondie and talking to her about some of the menu items. She was fun and lovely. My two favorites - the chicken salad croissant and pimento cheese with candied bacon and pepper jelly. My husband loved the buffalo cauliflower; however, I found it to be too spicy and one piece was enough. We also grabbed the cornbread appetizer, which wasn't a standout. The menu is full of brunch items served on the weekend. I'm ready to come back to enjoy the chicken and waffles, plus Jim's biscuits and gravy. While there I also sampled the red beans and rice (yum) and cornbread salad (double yum). Several lunch and dinner items plus cocktails and drinks. We arrived quite early and just browsed the merchandise and explored the restaurant upstairs. The restaurant was quite swanky. We did look at the different cocktails they had but we didn't order anything. I forget what food they had as well. We were of course in time for the tour and it was quite interesting. I believe we were one of the few locals in our group. Others were from other states. Our tour guide was quite informative and answered any questions that we had. I'm not gonna spoil everything in this review. The most interesting part of the tour was the basement with the bourbon barrels. When they are not open they will play the music really loud to shake the barrels and it does something with the bourbon. We actually got to experience it ourselves, loud music, touching the barrels and feeling them vibrate. The tasting is always at the end of the tour, we got to sample a few different bourbons and even got to try one with absinthe in it. If anyone is familiar with absinthe then IFYKYK ( If you know you know). We enjoyed the tour very much. Will we be back? Most likely. Maybe we will try the restaurant upstairs.
