This is the number one spot for curly girls with an atmosphere of pure delight! Get your hair colored or cut with a kitten and pup in your lap; another dog and several more cats come to say hi while a horse sticks his gorgeous head in a nearby window. Not kidding-it's awesome! Kristy brings together her talent for hair, people and animals in a lovely garden setting. As for my hair, she works her magic and I always leave smiling and feeling like a million bucks. I look forward to my visits and have been going for over 3 years. GO...you'll thank me! read more

Kristy, I don't think I've ever loved my hair more than I do right now. Honestly, I've never in my entire life had a better shampoo experience. I don't think anyone has ever given that much attention to conditioning my hair. But this cut is ridiculous. I love it so much! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! read more

My recent (postive) review is ending up on Yelp's "not recommended" list. As a result it's not even showing up??? So I am posting my review AGAIN for the 2nd time: I happily spend 2+ hours in 101 traffic to get my hair cut by Kristi in her trendy country salon in Windsor. Even though my last visit was 3 months ago, a gentleman literally stopped me last week at Safeway to compliment my beautiful haircut. That pretty much says it all - I have a full head of finely textured "difficult-to-style" hair. Kristi has given me the best haircuts I've ever had. She works pure magic with her scissors to bring out the best attributes in every cut & style. She also teaches clients how to style their own hair at home to achieve similar results. I used to dread going to beauty salons. Not any more. Now I look forward to my "salon road trips" to hang out with Kristy (and her wonderful furry menagerie!). read more

I moved to Sonoma Co about 7 months ago & I've been to 3 different hair salons. This is where I'll be coming back for the rest of my cuts. Kristy knows how to treat curly hair and that's just not something that every haircutter gets. Besides her skill with my hair, she's just super sweet to spend time with, with her many rescued pets. The horse will occasionally come to the salon window to check out what's going on, which is delightful. The cats are lounging outside and if you want, her little dog will cuddle up on your lap while you're sitting in the chair. It's more than just a hair appointment - it's some 4 legged love along with a great cut! read more

I just made a yelp account JUST to share my experience at this salon. My hair is so thick and gets so tangled, that every time I get a hair cut I end up being in so much pain and so uncomfortable. But this time was the first time EVER where I didn't feel any pain and was relaxed the whole time! Not only was it pain free but it was EXACTLY the cut I wanted!! I have never been so happy after getting a hair cut and I never go to the same hair dresser more then once because I'm never happy with my cut. But I can guarantee you that I'll be back for Laura! She is the best!!!! Thank you Laura read more

Calling all curly haired women!!!! YOU NEED KRISTY!!!! My good friend recommended Kristy to me about 5 years ago after I expressed jealousy over her amazing highlights (on straight hair) and I've been loyally returning ever since! The best part: Kristy is also an expert on curly hair. In 15 years of having my hair highlighted, cut and *ahem* styled (if that's what they want to call it, as I always went home and re-washed/re-styled) I never found anyone that knew how to deal with my locks... Until I was united with Kristy. Kristy is an expert on Deva Curl, a special way to cut and style curly hair. I will never trust anyone else with my hair again. I now leave the salon looking and feeling so glamorous! Gone are the days of bad highlights, a crappy cut and frizzy curls. Now I have beautiful, natural looking highlights and low lights and the SOFTEST, sexiest curls! I'll never go to anyone else. Period. Kristy has an incredibly high standard of excellence, and her salon is classy and comfortable. She's so easy to talk to, and actually remembers things that you mentioned in prior visits! You literally leave her chair feeling like you've found a new best friend... who also makes you look your absolute best. A+++!!!! read more

Just saw Christie. Went in for a highlight and deva curl cut. I told her they should call it the deva curl education. She have me great ideas on how to maximize my curly hair and gave me a great cut. The highlights look great too! Will definitely go back. Thanks Christie. read more

I've lived in major cities my whole life: Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco. So now what am I supposed to do with my hair that I moved to a small town in Sonoma County. I found the owner Kristy Oakley of La Chaise Rouge via Yelp. I'm often reticent to get appointments with a salon owner bc my past experience has proved that they're not necessarily more talented than their employees and often are overpriced. But Kristy proved me wrong on both accounts. She is talented in cut and in color. I have long thick mane of hair. And often it gets over-layered. Nervous cutters always try to razor my hair (which I've learned over the years, not to let them). As I have dark hair with a few grays, I often get stylists who over highlight my hair, and turn my dark mane brassy or for an allover color fail to match the roots to the rest of my hair. Their website is very clear about starting prices (and how it can vary with stylist, length of hair, or particular technique). I was surprised to find that Kristy charged me exactly what's quoted on their website and not a penny more. And the blow and styling is included. Major salons are now charging additional for that service. Kristy also has great manners. She's friendly but not over-chatty. Attentive (asked me if I wanted a drink, gave me magazines), but not over-bearing. Flexible, (once she took me in even though there was a mix-up with appts and snuck me in somehow). Kristy is quick, efficient, and I came out of the salon looking and feeling great. The first time I walked out of Kristy's salon, a stranger on the street said, " Your hair looks great'! Thanks to Kristy, it does! :) Kristy could work at any of the high end salons I've been to in any major city and she would easily find a cult following. read more

**Catherine is now at Halo Salon in Montgomery Village** You know that feeling, like you've just stepped out of a salon? You feel like a new woman, on top of the world and as you walk across the street you even turn a few heads. There's nothing like that feeling and that's how I ALWAYS leave feeling after seeing Catherine at La Chaise. This gal knows hair! She's been in the industry for years and knows her stuff! My color is perfect every time and the cut...oh the cut... Catherine is a master at her craft, and works like an artist with ever snip of her shears. I've seen many stylists over the years and I've never received as many compliments as I have since seeing Catherine. If you're worried about leaving your current stylist to try something new, take the plunge...call Catherine! If you're bored with your hair and want something new and fun...call Catherine! Just do it, you'll be so glad you did, you might even turn a few heads! read more

I'm loving the new spot on 5th street! I've been coming to Kristy for color and cuts for years now and will pretty much follow her anywhere. The new site is charming and cozy with a boutique feel. Its small and she schedules it in a way that you pretty much have the place to yourself when you go which I love. Kristy will go above and beyond to find an appointment time that works with your schedule. She's committed to making you feel fabulous when you leave her and I've loved every color and cut I've received. Thank you, Kristy! read more

I've been going to Kristy now for almost seven years, ever since my sister-in-law (who is a hair stylist) cancelled on me one day for my appt. with her. I really needed my hair styled and was frustrated but that turned out to be such a blessing; I will never go to anyone else, even my sister-in-law!!! Before I started seeing Kristy I had a problem with my hair color always looking too brassy and/or dull a few weeks after coloring. Also, I have very fine hair so it always looked lifeless five minutes after I styled it lol. Kristy has been super helpful in not only giving me great non-brassy color that covers my horrible premature gray but also with teaching me how to style my hair and what products are most beneficial. Additionally, now she has organic hair color that is sooo much healthier for your hair, I'm very happy about it. And to boot she's decisive and I'm not which is so helpful when I want to change my cut or color! I think it's worth mentioning, too, that this is not a hoity toity (sp?) salon. It's nice but also comfortable and everyone is friendly and down to earth. The experience is great as well as the results. Highly recommend. read more

Just got the most amazing cut by Clint Basham. I only wish there were more stars to give him. If you want to look younger, hipper, prettier, better, make an appointment with him. Super nice guy too. Someone you will enjoy spending an hour or so of your time with. The salon is gorgeous but not intimidating. The staff is friendly and make you feel welcome from the minute you walk in the door. I thought I would have to go to the city to find this kind of salon and someone as talented as Clint, but nope! Right here in Santa Rosa I found the King Of All Things Hair!!! He also has a facebook page where you can check out some of his work. Thanks so much, Rockstar CB!!! :) read more

I went to see Julie after reading the review left by Anna G. I have very curly hair, and as she said - it feels like a blessing until it needs to be cut, and then, god help you! It had been well over a year since the last time I'd let anyone near my hair, and it desperately needed some TLC. However, finding a stylist who doesn't treat you like some sort of needy circus freak when you ask for a dry cut with no blow-out can be so difficult I was really starting to believe it was totally impossible. Julie is obviously an angel sent to earth to help those of us "cursed" with curls. She gave me the best, most thoughtful, flattering and 100% cringe-free cut I've ever had, and is VERY reasonably priced to boot. I will sing her praises to anyone who will listen, and will probably never let anyone else near my hair ever again. The salon itself is very tastefully decorated, clean, and comfortable. For the price and the quality, I seriously doubt you could find anything better anywhere in the North Bay. Julie is a total keeper! read more

Modern salon conveniently on 3rd street. Its's Clean and Comfortable. Me being frustrated with stylists who just do the minimum I found Clint Bashem's work to be Astounding! Finally someone I could relate to while he listened and learned about my hair needs and gave me a style suitable to my fun personality. His haircuts described in a few words in my opinion are Hand Tailored Precision. Thanks for creating somethin versatile for me Clint. Ciao! read more

This review is long overdue. I have been going to Kristy to cut and color my hair for several years now. She is incredible. She always listens to me and lets me know what would and would not work with my hair. She also told me that I could get away with a root touch up instead of full highlighting every month, saving me money and time at the salon. She has a great location (newer on 5th Street) that is always clean and bright. Her loving cat, who I've known since he was a couple days old, always presides over the salon and provides comedic relief and head bumps. Kristy cares very much about her clients and their hair. I wish I could give more stars! read more

So I've been going to La Chaise Rouge for over a year now and I still can not say enough AMAZING things about everyone there. Seriously. A-MAZE-ING. Julie Sharp (my stylist) has gotten so several of the other stylists to take the Deva courses. When I went in this past weekend for a blow out (I know! I know! Us Curly girls shouldn't get our hair blown out. In my defense, it was for my BFF's wedding and I needed something different!) there were TWO other Deva Cuts. If you have curly hair, you know how incredibly rare it is to find someone who a) cares about curly hair and b) knows what to do with it. This salon is chocked full of curly hair experts! I have never in my life had my "own" salon. I do now. read more

La Chaise Rouge is the best. Period! I've been going to my stylist, Julie Sharp, for over a decade, and she just "gets it". I have, what I call, self-diagnosed hair ADD, trying every color, cut, style in the book. Each time, I've always left the salon excited about my new look. Julie is a true artist when it comes to hair and really understands her clients. Highly recommended! Now, the entire staff has become specialists in Deva cuts & styling. Since I like to change up my look so often, using their Deva products & styling tips, I've been able to shape my "half-wavy" hair into fun beachy waves. One more change-up for the hair arsonal! If you have curly hair, this is the place to go. The salon itself is extremely clean, a great look, & very professional staff. I'm an online geek and discovered that you can look for availability and book appointments through their website. http://lachaiserougesalon.com/ So convenient! Tip: bring quarters for the parking lot next door - the spots are metered, but up to 10 hours of parking (nice!). Thanks again La Chaise Rouge & Julie for all the beautification! read more

Colleen Wagner is great! She works in a beautiful and sophisticated salon. It is clean, fresh, and Colleen is so friendly and welcoming. My hair always turns out great and I'm always pleased with my experience. I hope this is helpful! read more

I got my hair cut and styled at La Chaise Rouge salon recently and wanted to share my 5 star experience. Lisa Craeger was my stylist. I was referred to Lisa by a co-worker since I recently moved to Santa Rosa. I use to take special trips back to LA to get my hair cut in Beverly Hills but I will no longer need to do so. Lisa was amazing. She cut my hair, blow dry and styled my hair the way I wanted it. I love my haircult. My hair looks so much healthier and has a good flow to it. Request for Lisa!!! You don't be disappointed. Lisa is so sweet, easy to talk to, and has over 13 years experience. read more

Kristy is amazing! She is a true artist! She knows exactly what will suit you and your hair best. I've been going to her for almost 5 years and couldn't imagine going to anyone else. I also enjoy talking with her and feel like I can tell her anything. She is a lovely person and so talented. I love getting my hair done from Kristy at La Chaise Rouge! Before I met Kirsty I had gone from a girl that had been doing my hair for 7 years to trying to find someone that could match her expertise and ended up with brass roots and weird shades of blonde. Two hairdressers later I did an in depth internet and yelp search, in search of a hairdresser that was great with blonde hair and that's when I saw Kirsty's work on yelp. This was about 8 months ago and I can't imagine having anyone else do my hair. I can honestly say she's the best hairdresser I've ever had and I'm pretty picky. She's great with color and I can choose any portion of my hair to lift up and there is never even a spot of color that was maybe rinsed onto a blonde strand or anything out of place. She's really precise and my hair always blends together perfectly and has the right shades of blonde for my skin tone. Not to mention that she's really nice, easy to talk to and not at all pretentious. I Definitely feel comfortable and the time fly's by when I am there. I have even started buying my shampoo and conditioner from La Chaise Rouge called Innersense (which is an organic line) which I love! I had been using Karastase and thought that was the end all be all, but after talking to Kristy I decided to skeptically try the Innersense line in hopes of straying away from all the chemicals. I actually found my hair to look and feel even healthier with Innersense then Karastase, which I was shocked by! read more

I'm now a devoted member of the church of Laura! I will now sing of the glory of Our Lady of the Divine Color Fix. Yay, though I went to her with straggly mop, My choice of green-and-pink streaks a blasphemous atrocity, Laura did atone my tone. And lo' the lifeless limp locks did again shimmer and sway once she lay her hands upon them. No more shall the people want for that which is healthy, shapely, and well-blended, For Saint Laura the Divine can save thee also! I saw Dusty and she SAVED my hair! I called out of desperation, since I had seen another stylist that same day at a different salon who had absolutely RUINED my hair color (see the pictures). Five months ago I got my hair cut at a salon in Rohnert Park. I knew their prices were pretty cheap and thought it'd turn out ok. Nooooope. I ended up looking like the mom on the Brady Bunch. A poof of hair on top and a flip on the bottom. Not a good look for me. After months of growing it out, I decided it's time to get my hair cut again. After seeing all the good reviews on yelp, I decided to make an appointment at La Chaise (bonus points for being able to book an appointment online!). Julie Sharp is fun, comfortable, and totally awesome when it comes to hair! She understood my fears and knew right away what was causing my hair to look like a mushroom. For any future yelpers looking to come to this salon to get their hair cut, the name of the salon has been changed to "Pomegranate Salon." Putting La Chaise Rogue into google maps may lead you to their old location; something I personally I had trouble with. So I asked Laura Lind to work with my long, curly hair. She is a stylist that is attuned to working with that type of hair, and all I can say is that Laura is as skilled as she is knowledgeable! As she groomed my hair, she would go into detail as into how and why she was using a certain technique (like noodling!). "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime." This quote sums up Laura's mentality. After I leave I'll be able to style my hair to a similar degree of that fresh first day cut due to her taking the time to make sure you know all the steps to manage a healthy, beautiful head of hair. Laura is a very charismatic and an absolute pleasure to talk to during the duration of my haircut! She's a kind soul with a good heart, and I only wish my cut lasted a little longer so we could talk a bit more. My hair was cut a bit short, but that was due to wanting to grow into the hair style I wanted which allows the look last longer. All in all I'm very satisfied with my haircut! If you have curly hair, I highly recommend Laura Lind! (I have no idea about her experience with non-curly hair, but I'm sure she's great at that too) I especially recommend her if you're even a teensy bit confused about how to manage the mess that curly hair can be. So if you think about it, you get a haircut, a lesson, and a great stylist to pass the time away with; that's a three-in-one bundle that's hard to turn down for the price you're paying. Just something to think about if you weren't sure where you wanted to get your hair styled! read more

I just had an appointment to get my locks cut, and I simply cannot say enough about Julie. With wildly naturally curly hair, it is always such a challenge to find a style that looks good and stays put in a soft manageable way. But Julie worked her magic with her 'Deva' cut for curly hair. My curls are perfect, and she has made me love them again. I was so nervous about the cut, but she did not disappoint. In addition, the salon is beautiful. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming, and supportive. You can tell they are passionate about their craft, and love what they do. Thank you so much La Chaise Rouge. Without hesitation, I will be back. I have been to almost every hair salon in Santa Rosa and got bad hair cuts and highlights every time. It was either go to SF or let it go "au natural." I finally read the reviews for Julie Sharp at La Chaise Rouge and thought I would give Santa Rosa one more try. Lo and behold, Julie used to work in SF and knew exactly what I wanted! She gave me the best haircut and highlights I've had in over 10 years! Seriously, if you're a blonde looking for nordic-type highlights that are gorgeous and natural-looking, you've got to give Julie Sharp a try. She made me look like a million-dollar, A-list actress. I seriously looked like a different person. I hope she never moves. If she does, I'm going with her. She's got my business from now on. I have never received so many compliments on my hair...ever! I visited Laura, who got me in, at the last minute, on a Friday, the day after Thanksgiving! Who does that?! Laura does! Amazing. She listened to what I had in mind for my hair, which was to go much shorter, and gave me a cut and style that was way more than I had anticipated. I am completely amazed by compliments that I am receiving from my coworkers. One of them said, "You have the best short hair of anyone that I have ever known." Wow.
