I am actually a self employed colorist at a different salon. And I'm not a client here. But Windsor is far from where I work so I felt like writing this review. I bumped into someone who had absolutely stunning hair. It was pure perfection. I had to compliment her and she gets her hair done here. I think the stylists name begins with an S? She's Latino and with their hair type hard to get the perfect shade of blonde. It was STUNNING!!! With the way this economy is, it's important for businesses to support each other. And the colorist she had knocked it out of the ball park!! Way to go!!! read more

I have the privilege of getting my hair done by Kelsey and words cannot describe the magic she performs! She has helped my postpartum hair grow with her extensive knowledge of hair extensions. Wow I'm so impressed! Ali did my hair exactly how I wanted it. It took a little longer than I expected and had to leave before she styled my hair. I have been looking for a new hairstyle for months because my current hair stylist is having a baby. I called this salon and I've never felt more inconvenient trying to get an appointment. She told me what I wanted wasn't the style they do, it wasn't natural but I could try someone els at that salon and I asked if that person can do a simple beach root touch up and she said she didn't know I'd have to come in. I made an appointment and also talked to the owner that said she wasn't interested is making "dark hair" blonde but maybe someone els at the salon would . I got an email canceling my consultation saying it wasn't something they do. So my review is if you have "dark hair" (brown) at all don't even bother, even if you are already really blonde like I am none of them do a root touch up but they don't have it listed anywhere. read more

Moxie & Co is honestly the best salon I have ever gone to before. You are welcomed with open arms by every staff member there, they are not only a salon but like an extended family. I'm always super excited for my appointments because I get to be pampered in a beautiful salon while hanging out with friends. I get my hair done by Kaylee and she (along with all the other ladies) is amazing at finding the right color/tone that fits your eye color, hair color, and skin tone perfectly. I got my hair done at Moxie by Caitlin and assisted by Kaylee, I had horrible , horrible roots and was in really need of a good color correction and full highlight, I was lucky to get an appointment last minute since I was in a wedding two weeks following. Moxie service was top notch!!! Very attentive throughout my appointment, gave me a FULL consultation prior to hair applications and asked my expectations from what I wanted from my final hair results. Very clear about talking prices prior to applying product and informed me of any extra costs that could apply due to the amount of service I wanted and needed for my hair goals. Feel bad for writing this review but hope it helps other women and yes they can't find me in the books because I would like to be kept anonymous and consider the stylist reputation. I left this salon with a copper balayage that looked half done. This is because this salon does not take their time, they want as many clients in and out for profit.They don't care for the out come of your hair and justify the end result by saying that your hair goal is unrealistic. $450 later so disappointed and never coming here again. I've gone blonde before at different salons and never had such a poor outcome. With high expectation, this place was raved about on Instagram so I tried it but after talking to and hearing about my friend's similar experiences just please don't waste your time and money here! If you want to go lighter go somewhere else where they are more passionate about doing hair. read more

Caitlin has been doing my hair for years. When I found her, I hadn't seen a stylist in a few years - I had moved back to Sonoma County and I'm incredibly picky about how my hair is done (I like dimensional blonde, and my hair is super fine and straight, which means my haircut has to be done properly or it will show any mistake). After a series of bad at-home toning attempts, Caitlin had her work cut out for her. My color was not just corrected in one sitting, but was absolutely stunning - bright, dimensional, light golden blonde - exactly the hair I imagined. She has talent, skill, and extensive knowledge with hair - the absolute best. She really listens to what I want, and the questions she asks are very perceptive; I really have to think about what exactly I'm asking for. I've even asked about completely changing my color, and she has always been honest about what would work with my coloring/tone and what will not. During lockdown, she was so helpful and instructive with my (temporary!) return to at-home toning. She really cares about her clients and wants them to look and feel their best. Moxie is such a beautiful space too - clean (during the pandemic I've always felt very safe), with excellent lighting, and (I'm not even joking) the most comfortable shampoo bowls I've experienced. They did a very good job on my color and I absolutely love the result, the stylist was kind, and salon itself was beautiful. However I was told my appointment would be $190 for a cut and root touch up and at the end of my appointment I was charged nearly double. I specially mentioned that I didn't want highlights and wanted to "baby" my hair due to post partum hair loss and just wanted to fix my roots and trim the ends. Stylist said she could put in a few foils to make the color really pop, but never mentioned that it would be more. I just felt completely blindsided by being charged nearly $350 for root color and a cut, especially when I went in prepared to pay the quoted price and my card was declined. Ended up sending my partner in to pay after this mortifying experience. Prices should be listed on a menu somewhere and if stylists choose to add more to achieve a certain look the added charge should at the very least be mentioned...especially if it will double the cost. All in all, this place will do a great job but maybe not so great for a stay at home mom not looking to spend an arm and a leg on getting roots done. read more
