Butterfly Lychee Iced Tea
Joanna C.

Great new boba place! My daughter loves the cracking chocolate lined cups for the smoothies. I enjoy the fresh watermelon slush. Trying a new one - Butterfly lychee tea (added boba and lychee jelly). PS - their boba is fresh - soft and chewy the way it should be (and I'm picky!) Haven't tried the food yet but looks delicious!

Iced americano & iced latte (with oat milk)

Seems like a nice little cafe, with a huge selection of drinks other than coffee/espresso options such as milkshakes, slushies, and boba teas + various drinks. Plus some great looking assortments of Korean food bowls if you're hungry. As for the drinks, my friend got an iced latte with oat milk and loved it, and I got an iced americano that was good. I usually like cold brew but they don't have that, and know that their signatures La Cha Iced Coffee is a Vietnamese style coffee so if you're looking for something iced and plain black then the iced americano is the option here. They have one long wooden bench along the windows and a few tables with little bench seats across from them so you can sit while you wait for coffee, but it's not that spacious of a space and not one where you'd want to comfortably lounge and read a book or sit and work on a laptop. But it's a decent spot for a quick grab and go coffee/drink.

Def mainly known for their bobas and drinks. Came in with my 2 kids. We each ordered drinks and entrees. My daughter ordered the biscoff drink, my son ordered the ocean lemonade, and I got the Thai tea smoothie. All were so delicious and the perfect size. We also ordered a beef bowl and chicken teriyaki bowl, popcorn chicken and Parmesan flavored fries. We paid almost $80 for everything, which was a little steep for what we usually pay for dinner. Service was good. The employees seemed friendly and the line to order went by quickly. There's also an option to order on a kiosk. We didn't wait long for the food. There's ample seating inside as it looks like most people take their orders to go.

They have quality boba ! I really loved their chocolate banana milkshake drink !! SO FIRE ! They also have a really good chicken katsu that hit the spot !! Cozy, modern Hawthorne hangout for tea fans.

After seeing a few TikToks on this new restaurant/matcha place, I knew I had to make my way down here, along with it being in the South Bay, which is always fun when new places come along. Arriving here, I thought the layout was pretty cute, and though we could order at the self-kiosk, ordering with an employee was another option, and they provided great tips on the items, which I certainly followed. I found the prices for both food and drinks to be reasonable and seemed to be a good size for everything, which was a good first sign. When the items came, I was pleasantly surprised by everything as it was super good, especially the mango slushie (which was recommended), and the chicken bowl was super good for it being out of a matcha and other drinks-focused place. I would definitely come again, especially on the warm days, and try a variety of options as a lot looked extremely yummy!

We got the strawberry ube milk tea (less sweet) and Hojicha latte with almond milk and coffee jelly (less sweet). Their less sweet is still far too sweet. I can't remember if they had zero sweetness option, but if they do, I'd do that from here forward. The strawberry une tastes like a strawberry pocky, not bad if that's the vibe you're going for, but I wish it had fresh strawberries and bits of ube. Hojicha was decent, but way too sweet. The coffee jelly was not what I expected. I thought it would be like the Japanese super sort and jiggly coffee jelly....that was not it. It was like hard and very sweet coffee jelly, sort of the consistency of Vietnamese dessert, Rau Câu. I wouldn't get it again in a drink. You can order with a person or at a kiosk. They're fast, so that's a plus. All around, La cha has a lot of hype, but I honestly was disappointed in the quality of it. Sorry to say, but I have a lot of other favorites I'd go to first before going back to La cha...

Biscoff Foam Matcha

Convenient and fast! I've never had an issue with parking in the free lot, but the layout could be a bit weird. There are two kiosks to order from or you can order at the front. The foams on the specialty matcha are delicious. However, the foam is much sweeter than the actual drink so I like mixing some foam in with the drink. The interior is narrow, but clean and bright. I don't know if there is room for a large group to sit together inside, since it's mostly two person seating.

We stopped by on a weekend morning/afternoon and it was starting to get busy. We got to try their new Ube drinks and the Galbi bowl. My favorite drink was the Matcha All the Way, the matcha was on the strong side and it was so vibrant in color. I was so surprised with the quality of the matcha that they use, definitely ceremonial grade. The Galbi Bowl was really good too, the meat was so tender and flavorful. ig: @cravingswithcat

Enjoyed the yummy drinks and food here. I ordered the chicken katsu and substitute the katsu sauce for teriyaki sauce with a mango iced tea with mango jelly. The cashier was very kind and friendly offering my substitution for the sauce without a hitch! Delish! I'll definitely go back again. Unfortunately, there isn't much space to hang out here...3 mini tables for two and two other mini round tables for those who are maybe buying to go. Nevertheless, my girl friend and I had a fun time chatting and catching up. Gotta bring my teen children next time!

I tried their pistachio matcha and an espresso macaroon. Their pistachio matcha was so good!! It was genuinely the perfect balance of sweetness and saltiness. I would love to try their other drinks but I would have to order two drinks because I really enjoyed the pistachio matcha! The espresso macaroon wasn't what I expected. I thought it would taste like coffee but it was mostly sweet haha. No complains though. I also love how easy it was to find parking. They have a kiosk that you can order from with pictures and the food looked so good! It's a bit small inside so if I were to order food on a busy day, I rather take it to go. Overall, it was a good experience. From the friendly service to the delicious treats, i definitely see myself being back and bringing people to try this place.

La Cha perfectly nails the Japandi aesthetic, blending modern lines with a cozy, minimalist vibe that makes it an ideal hangout spot. The Jasmine tea is incredibly fragrant and pairs beautifully with their creamy milk foam, though it's worth noting that even at 50% sweetness, it hits the palate a bit heavy when you add boba. However, the house milk tea is a total banger every single time. I've been ordering it at 50% sweetness with boba is the absolute sweet spot.

Service is made so efficient here! They give the customers efficient options to place the order with a self-service order taking kiosk upon walking in, a food delivery app for pickup, and etc. The employees get the drinks out in such a promptly manner which I truly appreciate! The cleanliness is really up to par, they have a nice seating area inside, and several chairs lined up on the wall outside for those waiting. The drinks are made with such great quality, YUMMY, and different! I can't wait to try the Dubai chocolate drink, very ecstatic about that one lol I haven't tried the food just yet, but when I do, I'll make sure to provide an updated review. Can't wait to come back!

It was one of those drinks I genuinely looked forward to, and I'd usually finish it before I even made it home. I was back in the area today and decided to stop by, hoping to enjoy an old favorite. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to what I remembered. The matcha flavor was a little dull, and the drink was noticeably less sweet than usual. I don't necessarily need my matcha to be super sweet, but the balance felt off this time. It just didn't have the same flavor that made me enjoy it so much before, and I found myself not really wanting to finish it. At around $8 plus tip for the Vienna matcha, I do expect a certain level of consistency, especially with a drink I've ordered and enjoyed so many times. That's what made this visit disappointing. It wasn't terrible, but it didn't feel worth the price this time. Maybe it was just an off day, and I can't speak to their other drinks, but based on this visit, I probably won't be going back. I wish it had been as good as I remembered.

So expect a wait to enter Sunday morning. Line moves quickly with 3 cashiers. Found a table, placed our number, got our self serve water & coffee. My iced special coffee drink was delivered. For the volume of people being served, it's pretty efficient. Our table ordered: 1) egg & cheese burrito. Very good. Average size. Not a jumbo as a Mexican restaurant might serve. 2) avocado toast with a poached egg. Nice entree. Again with the 2-1/2 to 3" slice of whole wheat black sesame toast. She's not a crust girl, but ate the inside portion. Excellent bread with ample avocado. Egg cooked as ordered. 3) potato hash with a poached egg. My son devoured & said it was really good. 4) prosciutto burrata cheese melt with side spinach salad. Great little sandwich. I little greasy since it was maybe panini pressed. Salad was dressed in an o/v dressing. Could have been punched up a bit with S&P. Son's gf didn't eat the basil & micro green garnish on the avo toast. Asked whether I could have it. Which I sliced up and added to side salad. A pro move cuz it was really kind of oily & one note. Yes, I understand it's a freebie side for a sandwich. The herbs added a lot to flavor this salad. Valet parking is $10 or street parking/near by grocery store lot. Upscale decor with brass accents. Read many low star ratings. Some may be completely legit. Except for one who complained about a $2 charge for an extra house made aioli/marinara sauce. Look...even fast food places charge for extra sauces. Yes maybe 10 yrs ago it might have been free. However, running a restaurant/large food service operations costs A LOT of money. Money for ingredients that are delivered in trucks who are paying more than $8/gal for diesel. Ingredients/supplies that hopefully all come from the US. If not it's extra tariff prices. Thanks to minimum wage increases even fast food workers make $20/hr. Also a smaller pool of workers thanks to ICE. If you're going to complain about restaurant pricing, stay home and cook. Cuz if someone else is doing it for you, it costs.

Came for the Coffee, Left Wondering Why I Haven't Been Here Sooner…read more First time stopping by Philz Coffee in El Segundo, and I'll be honest--I wasn't expecting to be this impressed. But apparently Philz decided to prove a point. They had a few specials going, and naturally I saw Pecan Pie Iced Latte and immediately understood that I was no longer in control of my decision-making. I ordered it, and it was exactly the kind of sweet, smooth coffee I was looking for. Basically, dessert put on a business-casual outfit and became coffee. Of course, I couldn't just enjoy my coffee in peace, so I had to make sure the wife was taken care of too. I got her the Sea Salt Caramel Matcha, and she gave it the official approval--which, for anyone married, you know is basically a five-star inspection from the FDA. The service was fast and friendly, which is always appreciated when you're looking for that caffeine-induced personality upgrade. Everyone was pleasant, and we didn't have to stand around wondering if our drinks were going to arrive sometime next Tuesday. The location itself is another major plus. It's conveniently situated near several other places to grab food, so it's an easy stop for a post-meal coffee, afternoon pick-me-up, or "I said I wasn't getting coffee today but here we are" situation. And this place is BIG. There's plenty of seating with tables, chairs, and benches, making it easy to come here to work, catch up with friends, hang out, or just sit there pretending you're being productive while scrolling through your phone. Overall, I was very, very pleasantly surprised by Philz. Good drinks, friendly service, plenty of space, and a convenient location. The Pecan Pie Iced Latte alone was enough to get me thinking about my next visit. Philz El Segundo: 1 My caffeine addiction: 0 Definitely coming back.
