We LOVED our dining experience at La Cave du Fromager! The underground dining area was enchanting, the food delicious, and wine selection was extensive. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time as we were extremely lucky to have gotten a table as a walk-in. Lastly, this is a cash only establishment, so be sure to have cash on hand before dining!

Young people don't like grease. Eat greasy! - a sign at Cave du Fromager (rough translation) We couldn't leave France without trying fondue! And we're glad we did. Well ... not exactly fondue. Fondue is just the melted cheese. What we ordered was raclette, which is pretty much a charcuterie plate where you put the cheese slices on a stove, then eat it with cured meats, bread, potatoes, etc. We started off with an appetizer of croquettes filled with melted cheese and garnished with caramelized onions! If you know us, you know how much we love our caramelized onions - Jason especially! They were a bit on the filling side for an appetizer (especially with all the melted cheese), but nonetheless, we're glad we tried it! Like most greasy food, the first few bites were delicious! Mind blowing, even! The cheese flowed right from the stovetop to the meats, and we ate it when it was piping hot while blowing steam out of our mouths. There's a reason why the French are famous for cheese! I really wish I knew what type of cheese it was, but all I know is that it was the most ideal type for me - really not too strong (I don't like blue, goat, or sheep's cheese usually), and very very soft! However, like most greasy food, the pace of eating was really not sustainable. We got full real fast (hence the minus one star). It was a fantastic last meal in France, but I will warn that you will likely not be able to finish all of it unless you're really hungry! (in fact, the next table over, two people offered to give away the remainder of their meal - more than half! - because they were too full lol)

You'd never know this underground restaurant exists from the outside. Super cool cozy cave feel with walls lined with brick and wine. Like some of my other favorite restaurants we stumbled upon in nice there is no wine menu and you just tell the waiter what type of wine you want and they bring you a recommendation to try - it's great! The menu is very cheese heavy, with a few different forms of delicious cheeses. We got the baked Camembert which was similar to a baked Brie with potatoes to dip in and salad, as well as the tartiflette, which stole the show and was similar to a baked lasagna / scalloped potatoes with cream, cheese, and pork belly. Great service and a very fun vibe, would definitely recommend!

Wonderful and fun! We shared fondue and couldn't finish it between the two of us. Had lovely red wine the owner makes (perfect line on market there!). BRING CASH!! They don't except cards. We took a chance not making a reservation and waited outside as soon as they opened all the non reservation people filled it up. Moral of the story: make a reservation. Worth the stop!

Mmm, La Cave du Fromager was an absolutely delicious discovery nestled in the charm of Old Town. I had turned to Yelp for foodie recommendations knowing that I'd be heading to Nice for work and this was a 'must try.' I called after work one night hoping to secure a reservation for one and, I did! An hour later, I was seated and ready to enjoy my first glass of wine (btw, all glasses of wine are 7euros and paired nicely with your order). To start, I tried the caramelized foie gras from gers and sourdough brioche with Jame's chutney paired with a glass of Vinoceros Ombre du soir. The flavor paring was complex, interesting, unique and surprisingly delicious. I then opted for a main course of chicken Wellington with porcini mushrooms, truffle mash, beans from the countryside and jus, paired with a crisp white. Overall, the wine, the ambiance, the food was all delicious and delightful. I'm glad I dined here and discovered it on Yelp!

Fantastic! Tucked down one of the many interesting, maze-like alleyways in old town... dining here is a delight. The cave atmosphere is lovely, the service is super friendly, helpful and attentive and the food is nothing short of spectacular. I had the tartiflette and it was out of this world. Very rich but a reasonably sized portion. Incredible flavors. The home baked bread is also fantastic and my friend enjoyed the asparagus risotto as well. Our server was kind and funny and beyond helpful with her wine recommendation. She also pointed us in the direction of two other top notch dinner restaurants in the area which was much appreciated. I really can't say enough good things about our experience here. It was one of the most memorable meals of our trip to France. You really must make it a point to go, if you are in the area.

Awesome experience! Right in the middle of the old town and an awesome gem for food and wine lovers. More options than just that of course. The seating area is downstairs in a wine cellar, although it's more of a restaurant feel than a wine cellar feel. The service was amazing, best in all of France that we received for a non Michelin rated place. Our server told us about all the food and the sommellier gave us the exact wine we wanted. I asked for a red and funky and he brought us an Australian Cinsault! For food we ordered the cheese Fondant with vegetables, their sausage dish, their pork tartar, and their chicken. I highly recommend the chicken and the tartar. The fondant cheese was a little bit sour for our liking but they had other cheese options so maybe choose the three cheese bland instead. And there weren't too many vegetables with the cheese but their homemade sourdough bread made up for that. Honestly we cane because we read a review here that was one star rating and the guests judged it for their cheap tables, bad wine, and change in management. Well I thought that was a bad reason to give a bad review and I came here to give it a chance and Mathew and his crew gave me better than what I wanted and I left feeling like a made some new friends. Will recommend this place and will come back for sure.

Agree with one of the reviews... best meal I've had in France in 7 days!! Great atmosphere, the staff were great in explaining the food and very attentive. We had the charcuterie with meat and cheese, the beef stew and a few beers. Plenty of food for two. The beef just melted away and was wonderful!!

My boyfriend and I had a great time in the vintage cheese cave. We were greeted by a friendly and energetic French man and manager, Jean Michel and he found us a nice table in the corner of the wine cellar and served us the most amazing, "to die for" croquettes, charcuterie and fondue. At the end of dinner he gave us an herbal shot to help with digestion and we left with our bellies full. The staff is very hardworking and the food is excellent Mahalo from Hawaii, Jean Michel. I love the smoky quartz! Aloha

We went here on a whim. Did not have a reservation but they seated us upstairs anyways. Downstairs is the main dining are and it is an awesome cave like experience in 3 or 3 rooms. Music is blasting is rock. We are fortunate enough to watch the kitchen and staff work very hard but have a lot of fun. Both of these elements worked into the food. I had the butternut soup and it was great. Then I had the lamb shank and my girlfriend had the fondue. Both very nice. A meal is a combination of the food, the service and the atmosphere. This is why I gave it 5 stars. I would definitely advise a reservation and a good GPS to find it. We will be back and send our friends. read more

I can't express how much we loved this place. The staff was all around fantastic! They were patient with our horrible French and joked around w us in English throughout the meal. Melissa, our waitress, was so awesome-she explained all of the options to us and gave us some local tips. Our Sommelier was Tres magnifique and helped us find the perfect wines. They fit us in SUPER last minute with a smile. The food? It was SUPERB! The fois gras was yummy and their homemade bread was a delicious addition. We had the risotto which had a hint of citrus that was sublime. The chicken was cooked to perfection, with a crispy skin that was to die for w green potatoes to add a perfect accent to a lovely meal. We LOVED this place-highly recommend. Thank you for such a beautiful welcome to Nice read more

We went here for a dinner during our honeymoon in Nice. We could not have had a better time. The food was amazing. We had the foie gras appetizer served with a small salad and pickled red onions. It was perfectly smooth, buttery, and rich and absolutely to die for. For mains we got the 16month Comte fondue and tagliatelle. Both were amazing. The Comte had a deep rich flavor and the tagliatelle was bursting with fresh sage. We were given the recommendation of a Chardonnay that paired perfectly with our dishes. It was a 2015 varietal that referenced snails in its name (because of the snails on the art on the front of the bottle). It was crisp, refreshing and perfectly paired. The ambience was exceptional. You are taken downstairs to a warm, cavernous, brick enclave, where you will be treated with the best food and wine. On top of this the service was absolutely top notch. Our waitress was extremely nice and laughed with us at our inability to eat the amount of food we had ordered. But, even better was one of the co-owners, Gregoire, who was amazing. He gave us the wine recommendation, but we also had a nice long chat with him after we were done eating. He provided us with a great rum and whiskey aperitif and we spent a good time just discussing them and their different qualities. It was an amazing experience and I would definitely recommend making reservations here if you are visiting Nice, you will not be disappointed. (Also, he did not know that it was our honeymoon, as we never mentioned this). read more

Everything cheese! So, the menu changes regularly and I'm almost sure that what I had will not be available when you are there but here's a recap: 1. The Chestnut Soup: probably the most delicious soup I've ever had! It's was creamy (cheesy), nutty, velvety and just damn good! 2. Pork carpaccio: it was very fatty so it wasn't my thing but the sharp Gouda associated with each bite made it amazing 3. The Lemon Tart: Tart, sweet and delicious! 4. The Risotto: delicious! Creamy, smooth and melts in your mouth 5. The creme brûlée: meh, it's was too cheesy and chunky and not creamy read more

We found Cave du Fromager in a guidebook, and are SO happy we took the suggestion! This was our favorite meal in Nice, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Excellent service (the waiter took the time to explain almost every main course in English, which we sincerely appreciated!) The food itself was phenomenal and very rich - You may want to skip lunch if you're heading here for dinner! As an FYI, we had no cell service in the restaurant as it is underground. read more

The food was great. I would honestly only recommend fondu for 1 as a 2 person meal and beware it only comes with bread. The natural wine was soooo good and the Buratta was so good! Atmosphere is everything. Service was fine but seemed to have a bit of an attitude if I'm honest. But we enjoyed the setting and the location read more

We very much enjoyed our meal at this restaurant in the Old Town. Reservations are recommended. Several reviews pointed out that the cave was cool and we actually found it to be warm but it didn't interfere with our meal. The atmosphere of the restaurant was top notch and we enjoyed all the meals we ordered. read more

CHEESE!! This place was incredible!! The cheese was so good I couldn't stop eating it! I ate an entire wheel of camembert by myself! Hello calories-- I've never eaten anything so totally worth it:) It's hard to find (located in old Nice-- quite a labyrinth), but that was definitely part of its charm! Once you enter this little cavelike haven you descend into a world of cheese, and then ascend to heaven after taking a few bites! We had their cheese special along with brie, sausage and the most delectable french bread with an amazing pinot noir! I highly recommend this place, especially if you're a cheese fanatic / addict like myself you cannot miss this opportunity! read more
Their asparagus soup with goat cheese was quite possibly the best soup I have ever had. The asparagus soup was full of flavor but the goat cheese brought it up to another level. They ran out of foie gras so I couldn't order that. :( So I ordered octopus and it was good. The octopus was very tender and the veggies were fresh and flavorful. For the main, we ordered the fondue for two. It was salty. It was good, but the saltiness kind of ruined it. The horse mackerel dish was very good. Usually, I find mackerel to be fishy, but I didn't sense that at all. Very fresh and clean. While the main fondue for two made me want to give 3 stars, the rest of the dishes were so good, I upped it to 4. If we didn't get the fondue, it would definitely have been 5 stars. read more

This was all the other reviews said it would be and more. Down semi dark street and out of the way of some of the other touristy places in Vieux Nice. It is in an old wine cellar, the food was amazing. We started with their cheese plate and the Caramelized foie gras and then moved on to entrees (the tagliatelle with sage and parmesan and a potato dish cooled in a crock with bacon and a rich creamy bechamel sauce and a smoky creamy cheese) By the time dessert rolled around we had to pass, we were stuffed. The service was frenetic but excellent. A great choice if you are in area. read more

My 2 friends and I had an amazing meal here on vacation. Thanks yelp reviewers! The staff spoke a bit of English and were very helpful. They were able to seat us 45 minutes after we checked in so we got a drink around the corner before. The ambiance is great as the restaurant is all brick and the seating is below in the basement. Very intimate setting. There weren't any tourists here from what we could tell. We had the burratta as an appetizer (made with strawberries and tomatoes which was a surprisingly good combination). Would definitely order that again. For entrees we ordered the tagliatelle, the fish, and the potato/bacon dish per our waiters recommendation. Everything was very well seasoned and prepared. Our only complaint was the house bottle of red turning out to be 22 euro which seemed a bit high for house wine in Europe compared to other restaurants. For the wine, one appetizer, and three entrees (with free bread), we left spending 88 euro. Not bad for an amazing meal in Nice! Bon appetit! read more
We made a reservation for 7:45pm but it was a bit challenging finding the place in old town so we got there around 8:00pm. The restaurant atmosphere was great. A little slow at first but once we got our waiter/owner it was an amazing experience. The food was phenomenal!!! The cheese was strong and just right, we ordered a side of vegetables that was not what we expected at first (because they were cooked) and we were having fondue, but they were amazing!!!!!! Also got a side of charcuterie, which was equally good. The whole experience was good, all of their food is locally grown and organic. Even the wine a rose, was delicious, also a local and a bit stronger than the norm you would get. My favorite thing though was the service, which gives this place an all around and well deserved 5 stars!!!!! read more

Amazing, do not think twice, go here! Get the fondue with a side of vegetables for dipping along with the best french bread that comes with the cheese fondue. So much character inside "the cave" with the most attentive waiter and waitress. Do tip them, they deserve it!! Love them and love this place. (Cash only, ATM right across from the restaurant, how convenient!) Enjoy!!! read more

Chose this restaurant based upon Yelp reviews. Fantastic choice for our first night out in France. We made a reservation to be safe. It was not needed for this early of a time as the restaurant was not busy until about 8:30pm and was still very busy at about 9:45pm. You go down a set of stone stairs to get to the dining area. The walls are old stone and set quite a mood. We were very happy with the ambiance. It was hard to choose a drink as they did not have a drink menu or wine list. Our waitress, who spoke a little English, brought us wines to try, and based upon our feedback, she would bring another. Not a fan as we were there for the food experience, not a wine tasting. We ordered the fondue which tasted exactly like traditional French fondue we had at a local's house the next night. Highly recommend. We also had an au gratin type dish with cheese, potatoes, and bacon that was also delicious. The menu is not the typical pasta and pizza you seem to find everywhere else in Nice. The service was typical for a French restaurant. Since your service fee is built in, there is little motivation to provide exceptional service. I would have given it 5 stars if we had better service. It was about 70 euro for an appetizer, 2 entrees, and 4 glasses of wine. read more

My family and I just had the best meal and experience at this lovely unassuming restaurant in Old Nice. We found this place on Yelp and couldn't have been more pleased with our selection. This is our 2nd night in Nice. We walked in around 7:30 without reservations, hoping for some luck. They told us they would find a place for us and led us downstairs to a cellar with several tables and seated us in a corner alcove that was just perfect! The ambiance was terrific! We were immediately impressed and excited to experience this restaurant. There were loaves of bread sitting on a tray next to our table. Wine bottles all around the walls. A beautiful start to a wonderful dining experience. Our waitstaff was wonderful and attentive. He spoke very good English and helped us with the menu. He was so very friendly and worked so hard the entire time we were there. The woman helped us pick a white wine to accompany the dishes selected. Our meal was wonderful! Our favorites were the fondue and cheese/potato/onion tart! Oh and the bread!!! There was not a single piece left! I have not had bread that fresh and perfect before! Everything was absolutely amazing...the food, service, everything! When my husband was paying, he was introduced to the chef. He told him about finding this restaurant on Yelp. They had a little conversation about our stay in Nice. Then the chef recommended two other restaurants for us to try with our two daughters. How nice is that! You will not regret trying this wonderful restaurant! read more

As an American from the Midwest who has dined at the phenomenal fondue restraint Geja's, in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago, all fondue restaurants are compared to Geja's. I hope the owners will review Geja's menu and consider some additions. We had the 16 month old cheese fondue which was fine, but became one note with the same bread/dipping options. I would suggest also offering apples and grapes to dip into the cheese as well as a variety of bread options, perhaps a dark pumpernickel. We had the thinly sliced charcuterie board with ham, coppa, a thin sliced sausage and some pressed terrine type thing that was described as being made of "parts" I tried it but hit a gristly hard piece of something which turned me off. The Burrata was good. I liked that it was serve with walnuts and mini pear bits as well as a pesto type sauce. I would suggest more of the pear or add some apricot so it doesn't become one note after a few bites. When asking for a wine list, we were told by the server that "he is the wine list" and made suggestions. We ended up with a bottle of the house white they pour by the glass. I personally prefer a list so I don't have to seem cheap when I ask about the price. I admit to having a crappy palate so I don't like to spend a lot in wine that I won't appreciate. The underground cave location was awesome and leads to an intimate, quite talking, dimly lit atmosphere. The service was very good. I would go back and try the single portion other cheese fondue offered as a main course that does not mandatorily required for two people. We were told that one was a bit stronger. I would bring my own apple and grape pieces to dip in it until they add that as an option to their menu. My last suggestion would be to add a chocolate fondue served with a flaming liquor on top with which to toast marshmallows and then served with bananas, strawberries and pound cake to dip in the chocolate. I think in the summer, being able to dine in this cool, cavelike, intimate setting would be a great beak from the sun and crowds. Great place for celebrating a special occasion. We also loved the intimacy of it when we were here in March. We made reservation the day prior. read more
My company and I were excited to come here. We made a reservation and also came early. You go downstairs in the basement to this really quaint stone-walled basement. We ordered 2 appetizers: - burrata cheese with French beans and almonds: it was a lot of cheese, but it was so good with the bread. The French beans added a good freshness to the dish and it was well needed because there was so much good cheese, but it got heavy after a while. - smoked salmon with cream on the side: I didn't enjoy this one as much. The slices of smoked salmon were on top of (what I thought was cabbage) and there was a cream on the side. I just found the dish to not be cohesive, the salmon tasted good, but with the cabbage and cream, I don't know if I was a fan. I did want to like it more As for main dishes: - fondue for one with seasonal vegetables: the vegetables were oh-so-fresh. I unfortunately didn't enjoy the boiled onions that were part of the seasonal vegetables, but that's personal preference. The dish however was heavy if you're purely planning to eat it by itself. I was glad my company ordered something else and I was able to interject my fondue meal with bites from his dish - tagliatelle with Parmesan: watching the making of this dish was fascinating. They use a huge Parmesan wheel to make sure that the noodles were really infused with the Parmesan flavor. The first couple bites were heaven, it was infused with sage. Overall the food was quite enjoyable. At the end of the meal, I did feel quite heavy. That should have been expected though knowing that I was coming to a restuarant where their food was all cheese based. Still a great experience. I think I need a nap to digest all this heavy food now... read more

If you love cheese this may be your place. If you love melted, gooey, flavorful cheese them this will be heaven. Dining atmosphere is original and romantic. I really was looking forward to this restaurant because of the reviews but....very disappointed! I had messaged twice through Yelp to the business as I wanted to be sure to have a reservation as it was my husbands 65th birthday and I wanted to request a nice table. After no return message, I called them, from the United States and left a message. Finally I received a return response from the restaurant and was asked how they could make the evening extra special for my husbands birthday. Again, I requested a nice table and got a reservation for 7:00. We were the 3rd party to be seated and it was NOT a nice table. It was a small table for two but sandwiched between other small tables for two so they filled up quickly! I noticed several other tables that would have been at least a bit more room. It took a while for the only two servers in the place to get to us as they play numerous roles, seating people, taking orders, clearing tables, handling simple requests like butter or more water , shredded cheese, advice on wine etc. . The restaurant did get very busy and again, only two servers downstairs. When the first wine that was recommended came to us to taste, it was in a word, awful! Tasted like vinegar and we refused the bottle. A man soon arrived with two different recommendations and they were both good. We are experienced wine drinkers and honestly told them when we left that something was wrong with that first bottle and the server told us he would check on it. After several other people were severed food who had arrived after we had, I waved over the server and asked where our starters were. She seemed shocked that we had received nothing and immediately went to the refrigerator and retrieved the cheese plate and charcuterie Board. We then got some bread and the food was very good. However, slow service because of no help with the amount of people they feed each night. They need more servers! Maybe they had a poor night where someone didn't come in to work but.....the downstairs became very hot as there was no air conditioning. Upstairs when we left , it was very pleasant but something must have been off with the downstairs air. Once our main meals arrived, my husband had the tartfilette and said it was good but my gnocchi was terrible. What I received did not look like the photos posted. No sauce whatsoever, just gnocchi in a bowl with a little squash. I had to use some of my husbands sauce for the gnocchi! Quite the disappointment. Like I said, maybe they were having a bad night but, we won't be back. Very limited menu, disappointed that my husbands birthday dinner was just that, most of the food, service, all a disappointment. read more

My wife and I went here while we were honeymooning in Nice. We came to La Cave du Fromager and were very happy with the entire experience. Not surprisingly the cheese was delicious. This was likely one of our best dining experiences in France thus far. The service was very friendly and efficient, and they seemed happy to help translate the menu for us English-speakers. We were seated in the stone lined cave in the basement, which did not at all smell musty as other reviewers have said. In fact, as you enter the basement, you walk past a bread cutting station for the wait staff and the smell is of bread and cheese. The cheese game is strong here folks. We ordered the cheese plate and charcuterie plate as a starter. Both were excellent. My 8-year-old and 11-year-old happily ate both with the homemade bread. I also ordered the cheese fondue for two people to be shared by the table. Excellent. For entrees we had the risotto and a potato/cheese/bacon pot of goodness, the name of which escapes me. Probably would skip the risotto next time but it was pretty good. I can't stress how pleasant this experience was. Make reservations. We did just a few hours before the meal. read more

The restaurant is beautiful! We had great wine and good food. We really liked all of the servers as well. History
Established in 1998.
This 17th-century wine cellar, hidden beneath the historic streets of Old Nice, has been a haven for cheese and wine lovers for over two decades. Originally transformed into a restaurant by a group of passionate epicureans, it became a beloved spot for those seeking an authentic taste of French gastronomy. In 2017, I took over this extraordinary place with one mission: to elevate the experience while honoring its roots. A lifelong food lover and wine enthusiast, I embraced the legacy of this unique cellar, refining its selection of exceptional cheeses, natural wines, and artisanal bread, all while preserving the warm, intimate atmosphere that has made it a must-visit destination. Today, La Cave du Fromager is more than just a restaurant—it’s a celebration of French savoir-faire, where every dish and every bottle tells a story.
Meet the Business Owner: Mathieu B.
As the owner and sommelier of La Cave du Fromager, I do more than just curate an exceptional wine selection—I also create the dishes that define our restaurant. Each recipe is born from my passion for French gastronomy, crafted to highlight the richness of our carefully selected cheeses and seasonal ingredients. While I can’t be everywhere at once, I personally train my kitchen team to bring my vision to life, ensuring that every plate reflects the same level of quality and authenticity. From the cellar to the kitchen, I oversee every detail, blending tradition with creativity to offer an unforgettable dining experience.

We came for dinner as a group of eight, all food and wine lovers and all travellers from all around the world. We all came out feeling like we just had one of the best dinning experience ever! We got greeted by really friendly staffs, walking us down to the cave. At the bottom of the stairs you just realise you've entered a really unusual restaurant. This amazing venue carved into the rock is mind blowing. You are seating next to racks of wine bottles, bags of flours used to make their insane homemade bread (best bread I had in France. I asked them to buy some they said they are not making enough to sell it but kindly offered me a baguette at the end of dinner!) and of course the key element : a huge selection of cheeses waiting for you. When we looked at the menu we were all cheerful it was 8 of us so we got to order every starters! Everything single one of them were perfect! It only let me post 3 pictures from the starters but trust me everything was succulent! The foie gras is the best I ever had, the perfect egg and salmon raw brilliant and the raviole to die for. To drink with we got the sommelier recommendations that we gave freedom to pick for us. He started explaining to us in the most helpful and informative way what wine they are working with and why, what wine would go well with the food and why and then he proceeded to offer suggestions with the descriptions and prices, starting from the most expensive to more affordable ones. We thought that was a great approach because you can still pick the one you want based on your budget without having to price it up in advance. As for the main dishes, we all wanted to try the fondue. A few of us worked in Courchevel and all agreed this was the best we ever had. We also tried the Mont D'Or and we were not disappointed. The quality of the cheese and charcuterie are second to none. We also wanted to try the free range chicken supreme that was cooked to perfection and combined perfectly with the purple potatoes mash and asparagus. We managed to save a bit of room for dessert and shared the best lemon tart we ever had and an insanely good chocolate eclair, all home made. Even the coffee is good! If you ever had a coffee in France you know why I'm raving about it! I think I can speak for all of us when I say this was our best dining experience in Nice and we would recommend it to any one leaving there if visiting the area. Those guys are pros, friendly and super knowledgeable. Thank you read more

Wow !!! 5 Stars is not enough to describe the superb place that is la Cave du Fromager. The waiters are super cool and they all speak a very good english, witch is really helpfull when your french is as bad as mine... The old vintage Cave atmosphere is an unforgetable place i had dinner in my whole life. The products are fresh and seasonal. The quality of our food was excellent. We spoke with the Owner Matthew that explain us his philosophy about running a restaurant. He said you've the choice between doing things right or wrong, i choose the first option. Well done sir ! You're definitly doing thing more than right here. Congratulations to everyone. Oh! I nearly forgot to say that they have an amazing selection of 150 natural wines from all around the world! We had an amazing castle Le Puy from bordeaux. read more

This place was absolutely lovely! The sommelier was very knowledgeable and was able to help us pick out a great wine even though we spoke no French. The rest of the staff was smiling and very willing to help with any questions we had. We shared the fondue, a charcuterie board and a side of veggies amongst the four of us and it was more than enough! The fondue itself was phenomenal and I had a hard time stopping. The owner was there and checked on us to make sure everything was perfect and the chefs were nice enough to let my mother stand and watch them cook for a bit. All around, a great experience and I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

Delicious cheese based menu that changes daily. Very helpful waitstaff, very fresh food, house made bread that puts all others to shame because the owner bakes it at 6pm, so it is fresh out of the oven, not sitting since before lunch. Organic wine that the waitress suggested was a great pair with our meal. Very fun atmosphere in a wine cave under the city. read more
