We walked in on a Sunday night around 6:00. We were the only ones in this hidden gem. Living so close I'm so mad we haven't found this place before today. Quesabirria spring rolls - Holy smokes. Why is nobody else doing these?!? 10/10 Catrina Burrito - shrimp, steak, and chicken smothered in a mole/cheese sauce combo. The size of my fore arm. 10/10. Chicken chimichanga - loaded with chicken fried perfectly with a crispy crust. Smothered in cheese sauce. 10/10 They make everything fresh here so we missed out on the Quesabirria special but the owner heard us asking about it and brought out an order of the Quesabirria spring rolls and smoked BBQ egg rolls to try. Server was very warm and knowledgeable. I just hate that we were the only once's lucky enough to be enjoying this place tonight. This should be a destination spot for all of Charlotte-Salisbury. I really wanted to like this place. Very well drawn murals on the walls, decent service, cheap tacos on Tuesdays, Good Mexican beers on draft and a not the run of the mill menu. Unfortunately, the food was bad. The chips and salsa were bland. The taco meat was dry and bland. The refried beans and rice were bland. The cheese enchiladas and tostadas were bland. Are you seeing a theme here? Maybe they think Gringos prefer bland food? I'm not sure but Mexican food can be a lot of things but it should never be bland. I found out about this new restaurant when I received a coupon mailer in my mailbox. I was curious to see what they had to offer. The restaurant is new. Very new. They get their liquor license anytime now and will have a full bar. They are offering a scaled back menu for the first week or so as they get "off the ground." We entered the restaurant and was immediately greeted by one of the partners. He explained the story of the birth of this restaurant. We had no problem with the temporary limited menu. There were plenty of choices. After the server delivered our complementary chips and salsa she took our drink orders and delivered the menu. I chose Enchiladas Poblanas topped with white cheese sauce. My date ordered Bandera Enchiladas. Our food came out pretty quickly and was served on a hot dinner plate. Both were delicious. They were served with rice and beans. The quality was the same as most of the other area Mexican restaurants. The food was good. The vegetables on the plate were very fresh. The prices were fair. Why is this place NOT PACKED ON TUESDAY? They have TACO TUESDAYS where authentic tacos can be enjoyed for $1.50. That is not a typo. That's legit! Annnnnnd, they make them the right way...Real chopped beef (not ground). They also have a pork taco that is world shattering! I enjoyed every bite. The tacos are amazing here! The queso is seasoned! And well made! And the chips are freshly fresh (unlike Chipotle... don't act like you've never had those stale Chipotle chips). Customer service was dope here as well. And I love great customer service. If you are thinking about it... Tuesday, you don't have anything to lose except $1.50. Try them out. You'll be back. read more

This is about the third time we have either gotten take out or have ate here. I was a little bit confused about what to say about this restaurant but i saw someone wrote that this place is Mexican fusion and that fits it perfectly. The things we like about it are that the people are very friendly and that the food is really good especially the rice and beans which i am really picky about. But the best part is that even though the menu is not huge is that they are willing to make you whatever you want whether or not its on the menu. This time i got shrimp fajitas and i didnt get tortillas with it. I didnt know they didn't just come with it. It was take out so i just used ones i had at home. Next time i need to remember to ask for them. The veggies tasted fresh and crunchy not overly cooked. read more

Definitely will eat here again!! Margarita was decent and wasn't syrupy. Tacos were excellent. House green salsa was good. The salsa with chips had no spice to it but was flavorful. So for those that like a very mild salsa, this would be good for u. Guac was a 7.5 out of 10 but this rating is because I prefer chunky guac. It was still delicious. This Mexican restaurant has, hands down the best Mexican food anywhere around. The manager here is also an extremely nice guy and makes you feel super welcomed!! The ONLY issue we've had here and it's a big one in my opinion, is the TERRIBLE service!! The waitress here, (which I've only seen one) literally picks and chooses what tables she acknowledges and what tables she ignores. I only took off one star because I know it's hard for restaurants to find good help nowadays. If they had decent service this restaurant would do GREAT!! They also have VERY good prices, which is a big plus! The last thing is that it's in a REALLY bad location. It's hard for people to see from the road so most people don't even know it's there. read more

If you are looking for great flavor, good portions and a laid back atmosphere you need to try this little place. Hunter provided great service and recommendations. Look forward to grabbing dinner there often in the future. I wish I had taken a few pictures of the food but it didn't last long enough.
