For the most authentic Mexican street tacos in greater Cleveland area, I highly recommend hopping over a county and going to Painesville for your tacos. It is fully worth the 30-50min drive (depending on where you are in Cleveland). This and La Mexicana in are the best tacos you'll get in the state having been in Cleveland for 6 years and traveled to Columbus many times. This one is attached to a Mexican grocery store! We got individual tacos but they have combos available as well and very affordable. We got al pastor, costilla (ribs), and barbacoa. All cooked ready to order, hot and flavorful. If you're used to a pineapple al pastor, that's not what they serve here, so a bit of a different flavor profile. I was pleasantly surprised by the costilla (ribs) - super tender and packed with flavor. They take cash and card. Has bathrooms and ample parking. Not much else going on in the city, but we always stop by the headlands state beach park (one of the best beaches in the area) when we come for tacos and stop by the TJs on the way back to get some groceries. read more

So this is our first stop!!' I ordered the barbacoa street tacos. It came with three I added the avocado sauce and cilantro. The tray included a roasted jalapeño and full onion. Very tasty. On the side I had some marinated veggies-cauliflower, potatoes, peppers and carrots. The marinate was with vinegar and spices. This taco place, is beyond my favorite in the whole city. Their service and staff are so kind very kind, the fact you also have a market in the building is amazing as well. Don't get me started on their architecture, very colored, because I see some restaurants with no color and basic, this one take the place. Great place for authentic Mexican food. A wide variety of proteins ranging from barbacoa to fish to chicken and tripe. The tortillas for the street tacos were fresh and flavorful. Onion and cilantro is served on the side with your choice of red or green salsa. Green salsa had a nice kick of heat. Some tables if you'd like to eat in. Or you can get it to go. Very nice ambiance, and nice location - very close to my job and right next to a cute little Mexican market with pan dulce and other cool foods and spices. It took around 15-20 minutes for my 3 tacos al pastor to be ready, and they were SO juicy and delicious. The meat was very tender and well-seasoned, the cilantro and onions fresh, and they had a nice yet basic and no-frills selection of sauces. And for less than $10 - including a drink from the fridge - I thought it was a pretty good deal! Great customer service as well, and I love supporting local businesses. Great place to grab some food in Painesville. It's a little out of the way from the downtown area but worth it. The Menu is on TV's above the register when you walk in. There are not a ton of options but what we had was delicious. I had the three street tacos, beef, which also came with chips and several different kinds of salsa. The chips were made fresh and tasted good. The salsa's also had good flavor as well. I believe there was a mild, a green, and a hot. I really enjoyed the hot salsa. The tacos were amazing and the meat was juicy and hot. They came with onions and salsa to put on. I also put some of that hot salsa on and was not disappointed. The lunch also came with a grilled jalapeno and onion too. I love heat but that grilled jalapeno almost did me in. I am not afraid to admit I could not eat it all and did she's a tear from my mouth being on fire. My lunch partner had the chicken burrito and raved about it. In all it was a great experience and very inexpensive especially for lunch. We will definitely be back. read more

The best way I would describe this place is a hidden gem. As a Chicago native, I know what a good taco is and I would definitely give this place my stamp of approval. I walked in this place expecting mediocre tacos especially choosing from McDonald's and KFC this place stood out more. I ordered steak and seasoned pork tacos and the meat hit the grill IMMEDIATELY, I received my tacos after 10 minutes. The steak looked fresh and the pork looked well seasoned, the steak was flavorful and the pork was a little undercooked for my taste. But overall pretty adequate. The drink selection was not too large so I settled for a sprite. They did have plenty of tables to choose from but not all were clean. What stood out most to me about this place was the condiment bar, I personally thought that was very neat and have never seen this kind of setup anywhere else in my life. My first time visiting the market and the taqueria, definitely not my last! I authentic street tacos, and these fit the bill! Visited on a Saturday afternoon, and the restaurant was busy. The menu is displayed overhead on a TV screen, which moves a little bit fast, but I was able to figure out what I wanted. I ordered 3 chicken street tacos, as a combo, with chips and homemade salsa, for less than $9.00. I placed my order, gave my name, and waited a few minutes for my order. The cashier was very nice, and super patient, based on some customers that were a bit high maintenance. In true taqueria fashion, there was a fully stocked condiment bar, with super fresh ingredients. Cilantro, chopped onions, 3 different sauces/salsas, sliced cucumbers, and a veggie medley....yum! The chicken was flavorful, tortillas were fresh, chips and salsa, were perfect. The tacos were accompanied by 2 perfectly charred peppers, and a small onion. All in all, a super tasty lunch. Food is ok, not good, not great just ok, now service is the lowest part of the restaurant, waitresses are really untrained and have no idea what they're doing here, when you order something, anything they usually had to comeback to the table several times to ask what you ordered, when ordering Jarritos ( flavored mexican soda) they didn't even ask what flavor we just got lime. Then to pay the check we had to wait for over 45 minutes I honestly was tempted to leave, they need someone there who knows what's up. read more
