Four of us visited and two of us were happy with the meal. The bean burrito was reported to be very good as was the breaded steak thing. Service was just ok. Cleanliness seemed ok too. My taquitos were absolutely terrible as well as the other guests enchiladas. The taquitos were served with one hundred percent flavorless beef and chicken that was so mushy that I had to spit it out in a napkin. When the waitress finally came back I asked for it to be taken off my bill, which she did. When we also pointed out that one of the water glasses had a crack and water was leaking she got huffy and took it away. My question is this, do chefs ever taste what they are cooking? Just popped in for lunch as I was in town at a nursery. The place is huge! I wanted takeout, so I was directed into the bar - which, oddly, is behind a glass door - sectioned off from the restaurant. It was about 2:15pm, and there weren't many people there. The bartender/host was super friendly. I ordered shrimp tacos, which he said were "really good." Hurrah! I waited maybe 10 minutes, and a trio of piping hot corn tortillas (my fave) packed with shrimp and peppers & onions were ready. Chips, a small container of freshly made salsa, and a large container of Spanish rice came with it. I was kinda shocked at the large bag I was handed. The food was good. The shrimp fresh; the peppers and onions cooked perfectly. It needed something - guacamole? Cilantro? Still, the tacos were good. The salsa - while fresh - needed something, too - a bit more cilantro? It just lacked a bit of flavor. All in all, though, it was a good lunch. This place was just okay for me. I saw a lot of good reviews and pics and I was craving a burrito. I ordered the grand burrito which is probably 20". It was good, but definitely too much food. I can't imagine even eating something like this in public due to its size and it did get messy. Glad I ordered takeout. I thought the 20" was just an exaggeration. And I also picture more of a structured burrito like one you get at chipotle. It was also a lot of tortilla and in the end I just ended using a fork and eating it without the tortilla. Go to the Wild Burrito, they said... You'll love it, they said.. Well, they were right!! We finally made it to this restaurant and all of our friends were right! We sat at a table in the bar area and were waited on right away. The margarita was really good- but pricey!!!! As for the food- we both got chimichangas- mine was seafood and his was beef. Really delicious..! The cheese sauce on the seafood chimichanga was so good! The bartender was busy, but he still was attentive to our needs. We definitely recommend for everyone to try this place! Found this restaurant from great Yelp reviews while driving down I-90. Needed directions to find, even though just a couple miles from the highway. Super clean restaurant. The waiter brought out fresh and complimentary chips & salsa immediately after being seated. Place was busy and we could see why. We split a perfectly prepared fried ice-cream for dessert. I really had high expectations for Wild Burrito. I had been there once before and it was fine, but upon recommending it and going as part of a birthday dinner as a group, it was beyond disappointing. When we walked in, the front staff weren't as welcoming. The inside atmosphere is clean and quite nice; of course, we had a good five minutes of just looking at menus until someone came over to get our drink orders. The chips and salsa were fine... We were there for over an hour, however. Our waiter finally came back over to us when we had to ask a different waiter to see if he could let him know that we hadn't yet received our food. After waiting another five minutes, we ended up asking for the check for our drinks to leave. There didn't seem to be a lot of communication between the waitstaff and the kitchen. I saw so many good Yelp reviews that I just had to come for dinner. The hostess seated us quickly in a nice big booth and provided us menus. The menu is extensive, so it was ok that it took a long time for a server to arrive as it gave us time to decide what we wanted. While looking at the menu, they brought us chips and salsa. The salsa was fairly hot, which isn't usually the case when they provide you salsa like this. I settled on the enchiladas supreme, less the sour cream. There were 4 enchiladas: cheese, chicken, beef and bean. Our food arrived after a short wait and looked good. Mine wasn't really very hot, which for me is a big disappointment as I like food piping hot. Couldn't find our server, so I just ate it as is. The enchiladas were good, but could have been so much better had they been hot. What I didn't like was the acoustics. My husband and I went in for takeout. Just a couple of burritos. And while we waited, we decided to get a couple of margaritas. We watched as several groups came in, ordered and ate, all while we still waited for our food. We waited over an hour for TAKEOUT. Atmosphere - Good. The restaurant is located right next to the train tracks, and it is so close that you can hear the trains as they pass by. The restaurant has a combination of booths and four tops. The acoustics are horrible and it is crazy loud. Service - Very good. Our server was pleasant and fairly attentive. I tend to be a lot more patient given the challenges of staffing these days. Food - Excellent. This is where the restaurant shines. First of all, the menu is huge to the point of being a little overwhelming. They offer virtually everything that you can imagine. I had a trio of tacos. One beef, one shredded chicken and one marinaded pork. I upgraded them to the supreme version (sour cream and tomatoes added). All three were very good, but the pork was by far my favorite. It was amazingly tender and flavorful. Overall Value - Very Good. Any time we visit my cousins in Ashtabula, we beg to have Wild Burrito. We sadly don't have many authentic Mexican Options in Pittsburgh. We're so happy to have an authentic meal that tastes like food we all had in Mexico. Everything from the time we sat down to leave was flawless. Before I get into the amazing food that we had, I must talk about the people who work there. They are all amazing. Everyone is smiling and happy that you're there. They are ever present throughout the whole dining experience. They make sure that you have chips, salsa and something to drink the entire time you're there. They also check in once you have the food to make sure you like it and have what you need. We always tell them how much we love it. You can tell they take pride in their work and restaurant. The one man said the recipes were family recipes. You can tell. Amazing. They should teach service to other restaurants. They are on top of things. Now to the food. The chips and salsa alone are good. I hate it when chips are too delicate and easily break. Not theirs. Their chips are durable and so good. We also got guacamole which everyone loved. My cousin and my mom both got fajita burrito and get it every time. They absolutely love it and say it's the best that they've ever had. My mom said she had a bite of Shrimp in almost every bite which is unheard of. Usually, restaurants skimp when you get seafood. They don't and are generous. My cousin liked her chicken and said it was tender and flavorful. My cousin absolutely loves their Chile rellenos. He asks them to add ground beef which they don't mind doing. He said the egg on the outside makes it taste like an omelette. The cheese sauce also makes it unbelievably good. We all raved about the beans. They were the best that we've ever had. I got a make your own Barbacoa burrito which was ginormous and the stuff of legends. The Barbacoa was so soft, tender and the flavor was off the charts. I will be dreaming about it for a while and can't wait to go back and visit to have it again. We love Mexican Food and have eaten food in multiple cities in Mexico.
