There is nothing bad to say about this place. Any bad reviews are very dated, I disagree with them wholeheartedly. Where to start? They treat you like people, not a number in their system. These are not corporate-run apartments, they are run by humans who treat you like humans. Yuri the manager was amazing to me, my family and everyone else! She was very prompt in her responses if we needed anything and very kind, helpful, and it felt like she cared about us. Leo, the maintenance guy, was awesome as well, very hard-working and responsive! Second, the area is hard to beat. Living there, you are minutes from major grocery stores, freeway, places to eat, downtown Brea for a night out, etc. Verryyy very safe area in Brea, you never feel like you can't go out at night. What's HUGE is the amount of parking outside the apartment on the street! If you have guests, they aren't parking miles away and walking. Neither are you if you'd prefer to park on the street rather than the stalls they have on the inside. There are spots all along Date street usually right outside your apartment. Third, the apartments themselves were built some time ago but they keep the insides of them up to date. We had pretty grey-ish wood flooring with carpet in the bedrooms, all white kitchen which I loved, updated appliances, sinks, etc. It is a very happy place, the courtyard areas are beautiful and well-maintained. Very green, lots of plants and flowers, very clean and it made you want to spend time outside. Not to mention the play area for kids! They have ample amount of space for kids to run around, even a cute, clean playhouse which I'll include in pictures. Lastly, the price of these are unbeatable! I know rental prices fluctuate, but these beat ANY 2 bedroom in Orange county. They aren't trying to rob you. My husband and 2 kids (age 5 and 3) were extremely sad when we left and would've stayed for years if not for another baby on the way. You will not regret the decision to rent here!! read more

I called La Casa Brea home for about 5 years. I had a downstairs unit with only 2 sharing walls with neighbors which was nice. My unit also has a large front patio & some dirt. I was allowed to plant items in the patio which I loved. I planted 3 roses bushes. I loved the overall greenery at La Casa and the grounds were always maintained nicely. My only complaint would be sometimes upstairs neighbors were loud - but I had a downstairs unit so some of that is expected. La Casa truly felt like home! I met so many wonderful neighbors which I now call friends. A great community and location. Yuri the manager was always friendly and helpful :). I miss the community at La Casa very much! I have to mention how safe this apt complex is too. The location is residential and since the community is small people look out for each other :). I would recommend! read more

La Casa Brea is a gem in the city! Close to the market, 57 fwy, stores, downtown, Brea Mall, Fullerton university and a great school District. Been here 9yrs and I love all the neighbors, everyone is so friendly management as well. It's a quiet complex and so peaceful here. I love looking out my patio as you can see in the photos. Anytime there is an issue they respond right away and follow up. Maintenance is outstanding, property is always keep nice and there is a play area for the kids. I always feel safe at night walking around or stepping out my door. We have new bright lights so the carport is well lit. Laundry room is clean and never had an issue. Sometimes there is a wait but not long, 30 mins to wash and 45 mins to dry. I always recommend ok rave about La Casa Brea to anyone looking for a new place. read more

I loved living at La Casa Brea! I only moved because I had to relocate for a new job. Yuri the manager and Leo the handyman were always very attentive to any concerns I had. The complex has a homey feel, which I prefer to newer apartments which sometimes feel like hotels. They decorate during the holidays, which I loved. There is a laundry room, recycle bins, bulky item pick up and multiple green spaces in the complex to relax. No pool or gym, but I find I don't use them as often as I think so I did not miss them during my stay here. (The complex is next to a Fitness 19 that is a convenient solution if you like to have a gym on site!) Quiet community and very peaceful at night. Rats all over the complex. There's a lady that runs a laundry service using the washers/dryers that are supposed to be for tenants. Had wet clothes thrown on the floor. Smells like gas and is not well kept. The halls have trash and spit from some of the neighbors. Some people had issues with mold- they had to stay in a hotel overnight so the complex could fix the issue. Don't let them fool you into thinking this is a high-end apartment just because it's located in Brea. read more

I been living here for over 4 years now. Love my cozy apt and cute little patio. Love all the new improvements they are doing to the property and grounds. Property quite, clean & well kept. They have a cute play house for the little ones. The month to month tenancy is great who wants to be on a lease with these crazy times! You can't beat the price for the area. Neighbors are friendly and office staff is awesome and very responsive. Unfortunately, the rat issue is a region problem not a property problem. I really don't think the rat problem is bad at all though! Laundry room was recently remodeled .75 cents to wash & .25 cents to dry. I wash very often and have not seen any random lady doing laundry service. I highly recommend La Casa Brea. read more

Today we turned our keys in to our apartment at La Casa Brea. We had the pleasure of living here for a little over a year. The property is very well taken care of and the units are great especially cause they are priced very affordable. But the real treasure of this property is the manager Roxanne, she was always extremely friendly and helpful. Always concerned everything was to our liking and made sure we were happy residents. My wife and I never had an issue getting a hold of her. She was prompt in responding to our concerns, which were few and far between. And she handled the property with the utmost professionalism. I hope that she is recognized for all the hard work she puts in to make La Casa Brea the amazing place it is. My wife and I lived at La Casa Brea for 2.5 years. Here is an extensive review of why we loved it. The only reason we had to leave was because of a job change or else we would have stayed here as long as possible! - Management Roxana is as good as it gets as a manager! She checked up on us frequently just to see how things were going with us. Every single interaction I had with here was very pleasant. She truly cares about those living at La Casa Brea. Also, whenever we did speak, she took her time to listen and was never in a hurry to end our conversation. We felt valued by her! - Price I have told people our rent for our 2bd/1ba with all the bells and whistles at our place and they were all shocked to hear how inexpensive our monthly rent was at La Casa. I'll explain below... Central AC/Heat - Worked like a charm! Our place was cooled down quickly and heated up quickly, too. - Spacious Kitchen and Many Cupboards We were able to put a huge fridge and an island in our kitchen. Plus, we had tons of cupboards and pantry areas. - Bedrooms and Back Patio The closets are long and roomy. I was able to fit over 900 books on bookshelves in our bedrooms. Plus, we had a Cal King in one and a queen in the other room along with dressers, side tables, piano keyboard and my work desk with plenty of room left. And, we loved our back patio! We grew our veggies back there. -Location My wife and I loved the walking proximity to yogurtland, downtown brea (tons of shops there), Brea Mall, 24 Hour Fitness, Target, McD's, 99c Store and other stores and restaurants nearby. The complex is also close to the 57 freeway - 1-2min drive. And, there are two parks nearby as well. My wife and I will miss our walks to that park. Plus, it's a great place to run as well. It is only 500 meters from our complex. Lastly, my wife and I would walk around the neighborhood late at night and we always felt safe. -Parking and Safety I enjoyed having La Casa Brea next to single family homes because we felt safe. Plus, the complex is gated, which made it more safe. We had family and friends over often and it was easy for them to find parking on the street. My wife and I felt safe living in this complex. Also, we only paid $2/mo for our second car to have a designated spot; that's unheard of at any complex. We shopped around at our complexes and they said they would charge us anywhere from $50/mo to $150/mo. $2/mo is amazing. And, one of the covered spots came with another huge storage unit above the carport. -Car Wash The complex even has an area where you can wash your car or any item that needs washing. We saved a lot of money by washing our own cars. -The Grounds Everyone who came to visit us commented on how clean the grounds were and how pretty it was with all the flowers and bushes. Plus, there is a play area for children that includes a nice size walk-in playhouse and tons of toy cars for kids to ride - all provided by the complex. We could not have asked for a better place to live. All the workers were extremely nice to us and Roxana, again, was such an attentive manager. We wished we could take the complex with us to where we live now. If we ever move back to Brea, we will definitely look at La Casa Brea before any other place. read more

This was such an amazing apartment complex to live in for me, my two small children and my fiancé. We lived in a two bedroom apartment (B13) which was very spacious and up to date. Yuri is the manager for these apartment and she is AMAZING! She's very professional with any requests that we had and was very quick to have maintenance come fix anything we needed. My children loved to play in the courtyard they have to offer, especially the life size doll house. Laundry on site is very reasonable and easy to access. The location is very is prime, not only are these apartments located in a great neighborhood but the amount of stores, food restaurants and mall was super convenient for us; along with have the freeway not too far. Rent is very, very reasonable for being located in OC, can't beat it. They also offer your own parking space along with a car port. I love that it's a gated complex so it was very private and safe. I have been a tenant at La Casa Brea for the past 5 years, and I must say, it has been nothing but a pleasant experience. The location speaks for itself , located in the heart of Brea. The Apartment Complex is very well maintained, and the staff goes above and beyond to keep it that way. Their is a nice outdoor area with chairs and tables to enjoy your coffee, converse with other residents, or just sit and relax. The complex also offers an outdoor play area for the kids to get out and enjoy themselves. I can always count on the property manager to be extremely responsive, when I have any questions or concerns regarding my unit. I also believe as tenants, it's also our responsibility to due our part in keeping the grounds clean, by throwing our trash in the bins, as well as disposing of bulky items in the posted designated area. hi everyone I don't want to even give this place 1 star but I have the right something that's why I gave Place 1 star I stopped by this place is because I was looking for 2 bedroom apartment on Monday 26/11/18 i pick up the applications and I was looking at the applications there was so many thing need to fill it out anyway I fill out all the applications and I had a deposit money and I was ready for everything the rent this place but I need to ask a couple questions so I need to get hold of a manager I called next day which is a Tuesday 27/11/18 in the morning 9 a.m. all the way through till 12 p.m. she never picked a phone so I called next day which is Wednesday 28/11/18 and the woman the manager she finally answered around 10:20 in the morning and I asked her I need some help about the applications but she told me there is no apartment available she say there's nothing there so I was even asking about the one bedroom and she said there is nothing available it would have been nice if she pick up the phone and say apartment is already taken I would have been wasting my time fill it out a million questions about applications and then I asked her when apartment already rent out? And she say right after I left which is close to closing time I don't really usually ever writing Yelp either good and bad even though some place is really bad I just forget about it but this place is she's messed up and so mean because when I check the places for two bedroom apartment this place still available It's very Clueless and I have a two kids and she didn't give me the apartment because she's very judgemental I'm a Asian so maybe she have some trauma ties with Asian so she doesn't want to rent out so if you guys want to rent this place this must be white people good luck to you guys and it's only nice outside!!! one more thing the posting about apartment still available even Thursday 29/11/18 read more

Awesome place to live! Before moving in, we read some yelp reviews and saw a negative post on the mgr. - I'm glad to say, there was no truth to it. If we ever have anything that needs fixed or just a question, she is prompt, efficient and takes care of everything right away. This is a small, quiet complex that is a great price for a tree lined street in a quiet residential neighborhood. Close to schools, freeway, shops and the mall- we highly recommend living here!! Ok Yelp, I don't do this very often, but as I stumbled across this page for my apartment complex, I saw some of the bad reviews and felt compelled to set the record straight. Here are my thoughts on La Casa Brea. Location - 5/5 You can't beat the location. You are 2 min (no joke) from the mall, downtown brea (lots of fun shops) and the 57 (handy for commuting to work if you don't work in Brea). Also unlike lots of other apartment complexes, this complex opens up to a very wonderful neighborhood that is safe and enjoyable. My wife and I have loved walking the neighborhood debriefing our days together and will be something I miss about this place. They also have wonderful parks (two really big ones within 5 min) that we often walk to to throw the Frisbee or something. Price/Lease - 5/5 You CANNOT beat the prices here. Before I first moved in I made a spreadsheet comparing upwards of 10 complexes in the area with things like lease length, prices, deposits, location, etc. This place beats all other places by sometimes hundreds of dollars/month. Not only that, but most complexes will give you the cheapest rent for a 1 year lease, with a 6-month lease being slightly more expensive and then sometimes month-to-month rent being the highest option given for rent. La Casa Brea ONLY does month-to-month and STILL is less expensive than other places. Also don't downplay the month-to-month flexibility. My wife and I were in between jobs when we first moved here and not sure how money was going to go and the flexibility of not breaking a lease if we needed to move out was so very relieving. Management - 5/5 I honestly don't know what people are talking about when it comes to the management being bad. Roxanna was a wonderful manager. My wife and I have felt very cared for and supported by her as we have lived here. She is fair, but also will give it to you straight, so yes, if you are a problem client, she will handle you appropriately. I think that's fair. But if you pay rent on time, and respect the rules, you won't have anything to worry about. She is a great lady and I am sad to see people insulting her on here. Apartment - 5/5 The apartments are clean, well taken care of, and in complete working function. If something breaks, we just call the front office and they put in a work order form and boom. It's done. You have a good amount of space for what you pay for, and if you are lucky enough to get a corner apartment, you get a huge front patio. Don't just take my word for it. Swing by, I'm sure Roxanna would love to show you around. Overall this has been such a wonderful living experience for us and we recommend this place to anyone that is looking! I am a "researcher" when it comes to these things, so when I moved here a year ago with my BF, you bet I had done a ton of online research and comparison to other properties...and I am so glad I did! We are very happy at La Casa Brea; it is hands down the best value you can get in Brea. Warning: long review ahead! When apartment searching though, the more detail the better. When you arrive at the property, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the location. It is less than a mile west from the Brea Mall and less than a mile east from Downtown Brea. Smack in the middle, you could walk to either! That's one of my favorite things about La Casa Brea. And don't let the proximity to these places fool you into thinking that this is in a "urban" or busy neighborhood. Complete opposite! It is located on a small, quiet side street that runs parallel to Imperial in a really nice neighborhood with upper middle class and high end houses =) If you have had your eye on other apartments in the Brea area, be mindful that many of them are further north than where the happenin' side of Brea is. You'll see what I mean if you look at a map. Even the look and feel of the property is nice. Colonial Spanish looking buildings. The grounds are very well kept too. There are lots of plants and flowers, and every time I walk to the laundry room, I smell roses =) Everyone's front porch has lanterns built in, and at night they turn on automatically, so it looks like a quaint little village when you walk around outside. It's just pleasant here. It is important to note that this is a QUIET property. When you first fill out your application, there is a big disclaimer at the top that tells you you're applying to live on a quiet property that does not allow loud parties. So if you are the type to host parties at your place frequently, this is not the place for you. However, there is a rec room type place that you can rent out and I think all they charge is a deposit. For me, the quiet thing is heaven-sent...the last thing I want to deal with after a long week of work is a loud Cal State Fullerton party or video game sound effects bursting out of my neighbor's place at 3 in the morning - as was my experience living in nearby Fullerton. The units are nothing to write home about, but they are perfectly fine. The bedroom and living rooms are an adequate size and so is the kitchen and bathroom. The kitchens have granite countertops which is a great touch. You pay for your own electricity and they pay for water. The units have central AC. One bedroom units have an adorable front porch (not completely enclosed) an two bedroom units have a private back patio. Other must knows: -Laundry room is on site but there are only 6 washers and 6 dryers; it's hit or miss if you'll get one. Half the time I go, NOBODY is there and it's empty...and the other half the time, all machines are in use. But the prices are CHEAP! 75 cents to wash and 25 cents to dry...you won't find that anywhere else! So I say it's worth it. -Parking is ok. You get one covered assigned spot near your unit, and for a few extra bucks per month you get another spot uncovered that may or may not be near your unit. Street parking requires a permit at night, but if you have short term overnight guests, you can go to the City of Brea website and print out a self-issued overnight parking pass. -Fridge and micro not included which seems to be pretty standard in OC nowadays. -No animals, no loud parties...you gotta be pretty low key her. They do a pretty extensive background check too. -The property manager is really sweet, fun, and responsive. She organizes "Saturday breakfasts" and random little holiday themed events sometimes. And she gets things done. So I've decided to give this place 5 stars...and let me tell you why. In Brea there is just no comparison. For the price and quality I am telling you, as someone who has moved 6 times in the last 6 years in North and Central Orange County, this place is legit. I hope this review was helpful! I hate la casa brea!! They are horrible. Especially the management. Roxanna,the property manager, tries to act like a dictator. She will kick you out for any reason possible. Even if it is just to rent out to higher priced clients. If you see local rental prices rise, you can guarantee la casa brea will give you a 30 day notice so they can maximize their profits. It is a super cute apartment complex in a quiet residential neighborhood. The inside of the apartments are an adequate size. There is Central AC and Heating which is nice. Granite Counters and spacious patios. I love the fact that it is quiet. You don't hear loud parties or blaring music. Everything you need is in close proximity. You can walk to the movies, mall, restaurants, parks, etc. Management takes care of the tenants. I would definitely recommend this place. When I moved in here, I felt secure, not only for me but for my children. It has been our home for the last 5 years, and I am proud to say that I live at La Casa Brea Apartments. read more
