I woke up feeling impulsive Saturday morning and had to get my hair cut and colored. I called a few salons in the areas and they couldn't fit me in for a cut and color, it was one or the other, me being the brat that I am wanted to get both done. I called Salon 221 and due to a cancellation they were able to fit me in for a cut and color so I was pretty happy before I even walked into the salon. I have very thick and dark Asian hair. Every time I get it dyed, it's never comes out the color I was hoping for. I showed Betsy a picture of the color I wanted and expected her to be like "nah girl, we can't do that in one session," but to my surprise she worked her magic and made it happen. I've never been happier with the results and the service. I'm so glad I found a new salon closer to home and I don't have to drive all the way to Ridgefield again for a hair (Shannon at AB, I will miss you dearly but it's time we part ways.) Betsy was also very informative. I had no idea what a balayage was or even how to pronounce it but she gave me a quick rundown and kept me updated on every step.

Why my first cut? My dear friend, who honed her skills at NYC's Vidal Sassoon, has retired. Since Jody did such a great job on the perm last time, I had every confidence that she would do a terrific job, and she did. As I've mentioned before, it's very hard to find people who do curly perms; Jody's salon 221 is worth a trip from anywhere. If you want curls, call Jody at Salon 221!

Confused (since I have an appointment for 12:45 and it's 12:39), I tried to call John three times and he did not answer. Amidst my calls, I receive an automated email that my 12:45 appointment has been cancelled. This is extremely poor client management. What's particularly absurd is that this would have been my first time getting a haircut here. I guess the business is doing so well they don't need to convert new customers to regulars. I'll be sure to spread the word to my entire network. This is a good reminder to not trust a retail shop whose last review is over 1 year old.

It's perfectly comfortable; his online booking system works well even for someone as allergic to electronics as I. Final nice thing: the parking at his new place is 800% better -super-easy as opposed to the frequent pain in the ass of parking in Old Greenwich's small 'downtown.'

She really took her time and checked the processing multiple times to make sure everything was lifting and toning evenly and safely. She was gentle, professional, easy to talk to, and made the whole experience feel comfortable and relaxing. I never felt rushed, and it was obvious she genuinely cared about getting the color right. My partial highlight, glaze, and blow dry came out beautiful, soft, blended, dimensional, and exactly what I was hoping for going into wedding week. Thank you Noemi

I've personally only gotten my hair done by Anthony (owner) or Ashley (master stylist). Both of them are extremely talented, kind, professional, and truly want to make your experience the best possible. The salon isn't huge, so it's nice and feels more intimate. It's always clean, well taken care of, and they offer you a variety of goodies like water, wine, coffee or hot cocoa when you arrive. It's situated on a busier road within Harbor Point. Parking can be sometimes tougher right outside the business, but there's still plenty of parking all around the establishment including a free parking garage. To make it even better - if you're not looking to get your hair done, you can still use any of their other services like massages, or other beautician services such as nails and waxes. Something I've wanted to try!
