Being someone who's gotten my hair done at many other salons, I can't say enough good things about HBar. I've personally only gotten my hair done by Anthony (owner) or Ashley (master stylist). Both of them are extremely talented, kind, professional, and truly want to make your experience the best possible. The salon isn't huge, so it's nice and feels more intimate. It's always clean, well taken care of, and they offer you a variety of goodies like water, wine, coffee or hot cocoa when you arrive. It's situated on a busier road within Harbor Point. Parking can be sometimes tougher right outside the business, but there's still plenty of parking all around the establishment including a free parking garage. To make it even better - if you're not looking to get your hair done, you can still use any of their other services like massages, or other beautician services such as nails and waxes. This was my first visit to HBAR and it couldn't have been a better experience. Anthony was super kind and welcoming upon arrival. The salon was clean, modern and I really enjoyed the throwback 2000s music they were playing. Ashley was my stylist and provided a thorough consultation to make sure we were aligned on what I wanted. Very nice people, but have tried them 3 times for highlights and have always left disappointed and paid 3-4x what I do at other salons. My most recent experience was for a partial that cost almost $400 and it does not even look like I got my hair done. I get my roots highlighted every 6 weeks and have for over a decade. Unfortunately, I already have 6 weeks of regrowth at the roots after getting my hair done last week due to very poor highlight placement (~an inch from the scalp in some areas) making it not even worth getting done :( Additionally, the color often ends up brassy and the bands at my roots from giving hbar a try are not great. Very overpriced (a full is upwards of $600+) and results look much worse than a consistently excellent $250 full service from a former stylist/salon who has since moved away. read more

Other stylists have told me that they could only do so much because I had "difficult hair", whatever that means. But Anthony only asked me what I wanted if I could have anything at all, and he makes it happen! Different styles, colors, and chemical applications, things that my other stylists said just wouldn't work with my hair. And now I don't ever want to go see anyone else again! I am so thrilled HBAR has come to Harbor Point! I live in the neighborhood and FINALLY, we have a high quality salon that is extremely professional, clean and the stylists just ROCK. After letting my hair go for months on end due to Co-Vid, it was a mess, the color , length, just terrible. I saw HBAR was opening and called and got an appointment that week with the main stylist and owner of HBAR, Antonio. I was welcomed by a warm staff and Antonio was just incredible..he was so non-judgmental , honest and gave me the most beautiful color , exactly what I had requested. I felt brand new leaving the salon and have received so many compliments. I have gone back again to do my roots and partial highlights and once again, Antonio did a beautiful job. I will just start off by saying best haircut experience I have ever had! Never have i left with a haircut feeling so attractive. Anthony (The stylist) is a professional you can sit down and have a chat with. Super friendly, candid, and really wants to reach your hair goal. While washing my hair i got an amazing head massage that released so much head tension to cured a caffeine headache. The products he used throughout the process made my hair feel healthier and gentle. I can still smell the sweet scent of it.
