I have shopped at LA boilers in the past but have questionable service. I go back there because they have real Louisiana shrimp. This visit was different. They had only one worker and his name was Devon. I showed up close to closing time which usually makes some mad because of my work schedule. Devon was gracious and kind, and the store was cleaner than I've ever seen it. I really never had a problem with the quality of seafood in LA boilers but for now the service is outstanding as well and it deserves the five star reading that I gave it. I hope Devon sticks around. Went Sunday before Easter--first time I had been here in a year or so. 2024 is the great crawfish depression so you have to lower your expectations ---yup, small crawfish and cost is high--$7.99/pound--but you expect that if you go get crawfish in 2024. Anyway, went inside, asked for crawfish and got crawfish---nice and easy and workers behind the counter were polite and efficient---also asked me if I wanted fixing, extras -- so faith in this place is justified. Crawfish we ordered had a good flavor and tasted like a good boil so this is also great. This location also has a few tables inside and a table or 2 outside in case you want to dine in. Ambiance of the place is good. When checking out, I did see that this establishment passes the credit card fee to the customer which is something I do not like so this review gets 4 stars instead of 5 stars. read more

Rarely do I try crawfish outside of Nola bc im super biased. Lol. Checked this place out on a whim on Friday. It was really clean inside and is more of a pick up and go type of place there are a few tables. Opted to dine in..crawfish smelled pretty good so i was hoping for the best. I wasnt disappointed. The flavor was good with just the right amount of heat. Got a few lbs with all the fixings. This place is one of a few chains and i visted the one on Perkins. The one big thing missing was beer! They dont sell any so i had to have water with my crawfish...ugh! Lol. Other than that slight faux pas..it was a place worth revisiting if Im in that neck of the woods again. read more

Went to get crawfish. They were super small. Some of them smaller than you find in your front yard ditch. So we were only able to eat about half of the 7 lbs total we purchased. I know sometimes you get small, but majority shouldn't be and not this small. They were also bland. Which is shocking because they usually have good flavor here. Was going to also dine in, but being the cold drinks weren't stocked, I had to get my food to go so I would be able to have something to drink while I ate. (Although they did offer me a plastic bag with ice for a drink since they don't have cups. ) I was refunded for the drink. My bag was also short a potato less than advertised. Also Some of the shrimp were so dry/over boiled the shell scales were separated and pointed upwards like spikes. I think I'll have to find a new place for my boiled seafood. (Went pulled some out the trash for pics for the review) I gave at least 2 stars for past experiences. read more

I was having a craving for some boiled Dungeness and snow crabs. I told my wife let's go try la boilers, and let me tell you the food was soo delicious. The crabs was boiled and seasoned very good. I like the fact you can either eat outside or inside. My family and I enjoyed this outing very much. We will definitely be back there to visit this place again. Apparently a lot of people had made reservations for their food so it was easy ordering because they created two lines and had things moving pretty quickly. The lines weren't very long either, about seven people in the store to purchase items but they were steadily coming in. They do have a drive thru as well but I like to see my food when I can prior to purchase. The staff seemed very rushed but if I was working on Easter I'd probably be in a hurry to get out of there too. So I ordered 6lbs of crawfish @ $4.49/lb, 1lb of boiled shrimp @ $11.99/lb and 3 boiled turkey necks @ $3.59/lb.... quite expensive but it was Easter Sunday so I expected it. Crawfish were pretty small, a few large ones. They were a bit too salty for us. Turkey necks were HUGE ! Nice and spicy for my hubby. The shrimp were just right. Good spice, cooked just enough that they still had a snap when u bite into them. Everything was really fresh too ! Maybe I caught a bad batch of crawfish so I may try them again. We really only came here because sammys was shut down and we needed our crawfish fix. If you're from out of state try to go someplace else for crawfish but if this is you're last resort it is good enough. read more

I went here to get crawfish and blue crabs. Read the reviews and I was pretty excited to try some crawfish around Baton Rouge area. I usually go to a specific spot in New Orleans for mine. But anyways, there was no menu to really order off of... to at least tell you have much a pound of whatever seafood you're buying is. So we kinda looked lost standing around, took the guy like 10 minutes to finally notice us and take our order. We asked if they had blue crabs, he said no (how you guys going to sell seafood but not have much of anything in there?). So we just ordered like 5 lbs or crawfish. We saw him get the crawfish out of the tub for us and we got like the bottom batch. Like the shittiest of the shitty (annoyed face). Think we paid about $6/lb or something. I can't remember. Taste test! Okay so we tried it. I will say I have had much better crawfish else where for a much cheaper better price!!! This crawfish I had was salty! Ugh I can't fix salty, seriously. I don't know if it was bc it came from the bottom of the batch and that's where all the water was and it was just sitting there soaking up ALL of the flavor or what but what a disappointment. Long overdue a review for this seafood joint. I can't complain much with service and quality of food. I often order boiled crawfish/crabs and potatoes from here. Sometimes the crawfish is over seasoned. But never over or under boiled. They get it cooked just right. Which is important factor when enjoying boiled seafood or else u can risk and chance some unwelcome stomach issues! I love the seasoning. Recently got a dozen of crabs this past Sunday and it pleased my cravings! All were full, heavy and juicy. There are tables at this location. They have trays for you to use. It's self serve. After we order, we take our goodies to the tables and enjoy. Once done, we clean our mess and they always check on us to make sure we were satisfied. Along w provided tables, there is also a drive thru made for your convenience if you do not have extra time to walk in and check out the place.. do note the advantage of going inside.. is that they weigh ur order right in front of you to reassure you that you're getting your money's worth. read more

I've been getting seafood from LA Boilers for years. This year has been bad. When you tell me the crabs are coming in full, I believe you. I paid 45.00 for a dozen #2s. There was 1 full crab (the meat stays in when you pull the feeler) and it had some fat with a little water. The rest were sad with very little meat and full of water. 2 had mushy meat. For someone who loves boiled crabs,this has been a huge letdown. read more

LA Boilers on O'Neal - Bad experience: Last Saturday, I bought a dozen boiled crabs. After opening the first three crabs, we were not able to eat them because they were either overcooked or the inside black and empty. Checking the remaining crabs, I found another five crabs that were obviously not edible. A couple shells were already cracked. I brought the crabs back to be replaced or refunded. They offered to replace or refund for the crabs that were not opened or cracked since "they couldn't tell if we had already eaten them." They didn't even attempt to look at the pathetic crabs that I was returning. I could see that they were not checking the crabs that they intended to give me as replacements. I was fuming at that point since they didn't want to replace the crabs that they had given me that were already cracked so I asked for a refund instead. Bottom line, I was given a refund of only half of what I originally paid and got to eat none of them. Needless to say, I won't be driving out of my way to visit them again. read more
