This place is now called "Desafinado's" and it's a wine and tapas bar. I went last night to watch my friend sing. The vibe is cool, but the place is a scam. I had made reservations well in advance, but when I arrived, the owner claimed he didn't have any reservation for me. I argued with him, and he finally gave me a table he claimed was reserved for someone else, but that was clearly BS. My friend's show was advertised with no admission cost (while other shows at that location are advertised with a clear per person cost), but when I got my bill, there was not only a 20% service fee, but a $52 show admission charge as well! On top of everything, I ordered la tabla mixta, which on the menu was $50, but they charged me $52. I was supposed to attend with a friend, but my friend couldn't go at the last minute. This was the only reason I ordered la tabla mixta, because I felt bad that my friend cancelled and felt like I needed to order enough for 2 to cover for her absence...not knowing I was also going to be overcharged for it and charged a 20% service fee and $52 show fee on top of it all. I love my friend dearly, but I will never EVER go to this place again and I will definitely deter anyone from going. You've all been warned.

We ordered our drinks- Prosecco, mimosas and the beer sangria. They were tasty. We shared the pan con tomate, the croquetas de jamon, las gambas, the papas bravas, the stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, the montaditos, and the albóndigas. All were delicious. For our entrees, we all had the huevos Bulla and it was really good. For dessert, we shared the churros con chocolate and the hazelnut waffles. Both were delicious. I'd definitely recommend this place for lunch.

I had the tofu, fried oyster mushrooms and the green curry with shrimp. Everything came out fast and was delicious. It's definitely not the best Thai food I've ever had but I loved the service, the vibe and it fulfilled my Thai craving. This is on a busy street (street parking) and the music is quite loud inside (not conducive to having a conversation). Yet the outside area is small and the sidewalk was a bit busy too, and it was windy (napkins flying). So keep that in mind. Also not great for groups--it's too small.

Made even better with the extra spice our server brought out * Khao soi (10/10): Absolute perfection. A true standout with incredible depth of flavor and texture. The beef was perfectly stewed and seasoned...easily the highlight of the visit * Basil duck (9/10): Fresh, crispy, and paired beautifully with the basil. Super flavorful * Fried rice (5/10): Not my favorite, but still decent overall * Pad Thai (7/10): Tasty and satisfying, just not particularly unique compared to others I've had * Passion fruit sake: Perfect balance between the sake and the sweetness of the passion fruit. Great to split between two The ambiance was fun and energetic, with great music and vibrant lighting that really set the mood. We went on a Saturday night and were initially told it would be about a 40-minute wait. They let us grab beers while we waited, and we ended up being seated in about 20-25 minutes, which was a nice surprise. Service was attentive throughout. Our water was constantly refilled and plates were cleared promptly. Overall, an exceptional and vibrant experience. Already looking forward to coming back!

There were very few tables occupied and only one person at the bar. My usual spot was available, so I sat at the bar without hesitation. Greta welcomed me and handed me a menu. I noticed they have a new menu with a very nice design. As usual, they also offer daily specials. To my disappointment, when I tried to order one of the specials the Branzino Mediterraneo & Risotto Greta told me it had already run out. I ended up ordering the Steamed Mussels instead. For my drink, I was undecided between wine or beer, and she recommended the Inedit Damm. The beer was very good you could clearly taste many of the ingredients. The mussels arrived with bread and butter, plus some tasty house made potato chips on the side. The texture and overall flavor were phenomenal you could see and taste the pieces of pancetta and the thin slices of garlic. I ended up using a spoon to enjoy every bit of the broth and ingredients. I also noticed that both the bar and tables have purse hooks, which is a very practical and thoughtful detail. I finished with a glass of white wine and headed home until next time.

Tucked away in the lobby of the Mutiny Hotel in Coconut Grove - THE Mutiny Hotel of "Hotel Scarface" book & Spotify playlist name & at least part of the inspiration for The Babylon - is a quiet, romantic poolside restaurant with a pretty good fusion menu and smooth cocktails. When we pulled in, my date & I were pretty much the only people there and we decided to enjoy the breeze on the pool deck in a cozy corner couch. My rum old fashioned was strong yet smooth, perfect for a Friday night. While she enjoyed some of their seafood dishes, I started with their Tostones cup appetizer. A green plantain surrounding fresh pico de gallo and beef chunks, it was tasty without being too heavy. The pico gave the beef a nice hint of tartness. I had been craving pizza, and their Table 14 pizza with its perfectly salty prosciutto, decent spread of marinara and slices of cheese hit the spot. Our key lime pie had a nice tartness and was a nice closing. Our waiter / bartender was great, getting our orders first to the cozy corner and then to a table. Service was pleasant without being overbearing. Oh, and yes they sell Scarface memorabilia in the hotel front desk!

The fries were crunchy and crispy, very nice. The burger was massive and cooked perfectly to medium as asked. However there was far too much BBQ sauce for our taste, which ruined it somewhat. We also had the crispy pork sandwich with a side salad with blue cheese on the side. I enjoyed the too half of the salad but then was disappointed that they had decided to slather it with balsamic which was too salty n over powering and not what I asked for..hence the side order of blue cheese dressing. The idea is that you can then decide how much you put in, so this option could not be used. The crispy park sandwich was to die for and the star of the show! Crispy tasty crunch chicarrone pork pieces with slices of sweet potatoes on an aoili sauce ..wow. Also they don't mind you using their pool and outside area if you eat there..I asked beforehand, so it's an added bonus and why I would come back.

Celosa has a small food menu featuring snacks, small plates, charcuterie and salads. They have a respectable cocktail menu, wine and spirits list, and as the name implies, espresso, coffee and tea. We'd arrived to a nearby restaurant about 20 minutes before our table would be ready, so we came here to Celosa Cafe for a pre-dinner cocktail. I had the Garibaldi which contained Campari, orange juice and cane sugar. My husband requested a cosmopolitan which aren't listed on the menu, but they were happy to make him one. Both our drinks were really good. Come here if you like the color pink, as it seems to be a common thread from the linens to tiles on the wall, to the bar stools, umbrellas, the color of the menus, collateral and some displays, and even the staff uniforms. The bartender we had on this night had previously served us at the bar inside the Loew's hotel, so this cafe, which is currently open from Tue - Sat from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., likely shares staff (and the kitchen) with the Loew's hotel proper.
