La Bella Tavola never disappoints. The food is always outstanding, made fresh when ordered, and you can truly taste the quality in every bite. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients, and excellent gluten-free options make it a win for everyone at the table. The service is friendly and welcoming, which just adds to the experience. Honestly, no matter what you order, you won't be disappointed. We gladly make the drive to Cuero just to eat here and that says it all.

What a gem in the middle of nowhere (well to me). Traveling back from south padre and my son said he wanted pizza. Did a quick search on Waze and this place pulled up, it was a 3 hour drive but it looked so good we said we could wait. Totally worth the wait! The dough freshly made here, I loved the rolls and the pizza. The place looks like an old service station, transformed into a sort of contemporary Italian restaurant with fancy music but a casual feel. Service was prompt, and attentive. We will totally be back for this pizza next time through.

We stopped in here after looking at the local museums. We were seated right away and the waitress was very attentive. They do have some gluten-free options like the pizza and I was glad that it had a normal amount of toppings like the regular kind which was great. My friend had a chicken dish with a lot of meat and a great value. They liked it a lot. The ambiance is fine and the place is clean. The only issue was that we didn't know to go to the counter to pay and not wait for a ticket. No problem though.

My go-to meal is the chicken picatta! I live in Victoria but whenever I'm in town for work, I choose La Bella. Great service, great food

Wife had a pasta combo! Lots of flavor and CHEESE!

Awesome place with a great menu. I enjoyed the ribeye masala ! The plate was served timely and had great taste. Our server Mario was spot on!

On your way to the coast STOP HERE!!!! In a beautifully repurposed vintage building is an outstanding local Italian restaurant on the lines of what is predominant in neighborhoods of the East Coast. A sheer delight, the chef and staff have high quality traditional Italian cuisine as their focus. We stopped in on a whim. The menu has your standard selections, plus some gems we were lucky enough to select. The stuffed mushrooms in a rich marinara sauce was our first clue we were in for a treat. They have an excellent seasoned filling that says "Italian!" without being overly spicy. The spaghetti sampler has fresh noodles in a rich marinara thick with beef, large meatball and a wonderfully complementary Italian sausage. Yum! Hubby had never heard the words salmon and picatta together as a dish and was very happy. HUGE capers in a well-balanced lemon butter sauce. Even the side bread was outstanding, obviously house made. We wondered aloud how an East Coast neighborhood place wound up in the middle of Texas cattle country, but counted our blessings that it is here. Go! Enjoy!

Service was fine. Waiter was nice. Pizza was ok. Wouldn't order again. Calamari was very dry & chewy. Spice was sprinkled on but no flavor. Rolls were good. Marinara was yummy. Spaghetti & meatballs were nothing too special. BUT the chicken Alfredo was VERY GOOD! Would go back just for that over & over.

Look at the size of those meatballs!

The second time was with the current owner and the eggplant parmigiana was good but the pasta sampler was very bland. We waited several months to give it another shot as we know things could improve. We ordered fried calamari, supreme pizza and baked Tuscany. They were out of the fried calamari, it happens, but it seems like a reoccurring incident with many items as the waitress told the table behind us they were out of many items. My husband had the pizza and said it was good but the dough was not cooked all the way through and he could barely hold a slice because it was soggy. My pasta was very good, big portion. The bread rolls were probably my favorite part, very good and while they don't give oil with them the Parmesan and pepper flakes on the table were enough. The poor waitress was very overwhelmed with a large crowd tonight, she needs an additional person handling the drinks and check out counter. She did her best but forgot many orders and drink orders and returned to the table to re ask or confirm. My advice to her is to always bring her notepad, take some anxiety medicine, and wear some lavender. The owner/ chef in the kitchen, some advice would to ditch the menu entirely and have daily specials only! Have 6 meals available at all times rotate your dishes and a soup and salad combo always available. Go back to a simpler menu until it's manageable and then you can grow your team and add more options. Your portions are big and food is okay, it will be easier, better, more efficient, and quality will improve when you limit your menu. Overall for decent food, long waits, and an underwhelming place to eat out, give it a shot. Next time I'll be going to the seafood place next door. (P.S. The water has a chlorine taste to it, not sure if this is all of Halletsville but if so the city needs to update its filtration! The chlorine lingering behind soft drinks at every restaurant is awful.)

We were seated right away (Friday night - 645pm). There were quite a few tables full, however, the noise was very minimal. The service was absolutely exceptional (just husband and wife as servers this evening). We ordered the Mozarella sticks as an appetizer (son's favorite app), a 14" pepperoni pizza, chicken parmesan, and chicken piccata. The food was out SUPER fast, and cooked to perfection. The rolls were amazing as well, hot & fresh! Our son didn't want to stop eating the pizza, however he finally did so he wouldn't be "uncomfortable" (which is fine with me so we can have the leftovers). My husband and I finished our dishes leaving nothing to bring home from them. The portion sizes were absolutely perfect on both mine and my husbands dishes. The atmosphere here was quiet and peaceful. The music was a classical Italian/Mediterranean mix. No modern or contemporary distractions. The service was amazing and the workers here are sweethearts. The food was comfortable and very well portioned. There is a lot of love in these ingredients. The salmon piccata and chicken piccata were both very filling. Have I mentioned the vegetable and chicken soup. I really like that soup. Also to note, they give very large portions of the proteins. Every Italian place I have tried in Austin is a total ripoff - extremely overpriced and low quality. This place was the total opposite of every Italian restaurant I've been to in Austin - it was amazing! I immediately felt like I was back in NY. They were so friendly and gave us warm garlic butter rolls and water the second we sat down. It was the biggest menu - I wanted everything! It was so difficult to choose as I don't see even 1/4 of these options in Austin! I finally decided on the spaghetti and eggplant parm. But how I wish I could also get the baked ziti, the meat sauce, the lasagne, the subs, the calzones and the pizza too as everything looked amazing! The portions were massive - enough for 2-3 meals! Plus you get free salad and bread. And when we were done they offered us even more rolls to take home! Took 10 rolls home plus leftover salad and pasta. It was absolutely delicious, so satisfying. The best comfort food for a Sunday night meal. We paid $40 total for a massive meal that would have easily cost $75 in Austin and been 1/2 the size! The chicken is horrible. Inedible. It tastes like a boiled chicken breast. No flavor, texture like rubber. I've tried it several times. It is not good. My daughter likes to get the baked ziti... she really likes it, but often has to take off almost a pound of cheese before she can eat it. There is such a thing as too much cheese. I have heard the owner yell harshly at the weight staff and don't really understand why anybody would work for somebody that screams at them the way he does. Roma's has the potential to be amazing but I feel like the owner is holding himself back. Also, the prices are a little high. If I could sit down and have a frank conversation with the owner, I would suggest dropping the price by a few dollars and cutting the portions in half. I'd come more often if the prices were lower, even if I got less food.
