The restroom area smelled very strong of gas maybe something with their sewer system. The staff was so amazing very attentive and nice. The lights in here are WAY TO BRIGHT I feel blinded from how bright they are. They are a white light and not a yellow warm light. It was not a vibe.

A Solid Slice of the Margherita Life | 4/5 Stars…read more Tried the Margherita Pizza at Double Dave's in Victoria and walked away satisfied -- fresh, melty, and totally respectable. It's your dependable pizza friend: well-made, good flavor, and no drama. That said, I'm a sucker for a more rustic Margherita -- charred crust, garden basil, that brick oven soul. This version felt a little more "clean-cut" than "countryside artisan," but still totally hit the spot. Bonus: great crust game. Double Dave's keeps it classic, and sometimes, that's all you need.

What a pleasant surprise! We were in Victoria just for a one night stop on the way back to Austin…read more We wanted pizza but we're kinda spoiled to really good pies in Austin. Reviews here on Yelp led us to venture to this spot tucked away in a neighborhood. There was a run down funeral home across the street to add to the allure. The place was rocking! There was a great crowd and a lady playing guitar and singing on the outside patio. The employees were very welcoming and helped us with ordering at the counter. We enjoyed checking out the trippy decor while waiting for our pizza. Seemed to be almost all locals as everyone was chatting, laughing and generally enjoying a great time. Pizza came out and it was exactly like we like it. Very thin crispy crust and toppings all the way to the edges. We had the all meat pie and just couldn't finish it. We boxed it up and took it back to the hotel for the desk clerk. He had never been to Evans but said he will be going soon. Great experience!!!

I haven't been to (let alone even seen) a Mr. Gatti's since I was a kid! So imagine my surprise…read morewhen looking for gluten free pizza options in Victoria that this was on the list! We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon for dinner, and right off the bat let the staff know we were looking for a gluten free option. They were able to accommodate this (for an extra fee, about $3) and hand make a personal pan pizza with toppings of your request. We certainly weren't expecting it to be as big or as good as it was either! We did not ask, though, if the gluten free pies were all you can eat as we only ordered the one. As for the regular buffet, it is smaller compared to Gatti's past but still had enough options to satisfy my nostalgia, the food tasted just as I remembered, which for me was fantastic. Heck, even the plates are just like I remember! When we arrived there weren't too many people, but I can definitely see if the place was full (the movie room, the sports room, and the cafe) how the buffet would be far too small to accommodate the masses. But when not at capacity, there is no issue. The staff were kind and attentive, and the game room was surprisingly fun! Also small, but has enough variety to make it worth it. Going up to the prize counter was just as exciting as it was when I was a kid! This was such a fun little treat to find and I had a great time!

Steven showed excellent personalized service. He gave me a quick call to ensure my order was in fact placed by me. This made me feel that he was not only looking out for his restaurant but also me as a customer to make sure it wasn't a fraudulent order. Steven told me he wanted to make sure there were enough wings in his restaurant & he called me back soon after, to tell me the good news there were enough wings to fill my order. My order was ready within the time Steven quoted to me. Each box of wings and garlic knots were packed neat and carefully so I wouldn't have any spills (BBQ sauce, Buffalo etc) He even helped me carry and load my order to my vehicle. Steven and Papa John's really helped my day be a great one while in Victoria TX and I will certainly return when I am in town for my quarterly trips.
