I didn't think you could mess up chicken parm. It was soggy and thin and flavorless. The spaghetti sauce was also flavorless. It tasted like cheap store bought sauce. A Solid Slice of the Margherita Life | 4/5 Stars…read more Tried the Margherita Pizza at Double Dave's in Victoria and walked away satisfied -- fresh, melty, and totally respectable. It's your dependable pizza friend: well-made, good flavor, and no drama. That said, I'm a sucker for a more rustic Margherita -- charred crust, garden basil, that brick oven soul. This version felt a little more "clean-cut" than "countryside artisan," but still totally hit the spot. Bonus: great crust game. Double Dave's keeps it classic, and sometimes, that's all you need.

What a pleasant surprise! We were in Victoria just for a one night stop on the way back to Austin…read more We wanted pizza but we're kinda spoiled to really good pies in Austin. Reviews here on Yelp led us to venture to this spot tucked away in a neighborhood. There was a run down funeral home across the street to add to the allure. The place was rocking! There was a great crowd and a lady playing guitar and singing on the outside patio. The employees were very welcoming and helped us with ordering at the counter. We enjoyed checking out the trippy decor while waiting for our pizza. Seemed to be almost all locals as everyone was chatting, laughing and generally enjoying a great time. Pizza came out and it was exactly like we like it. Very thin crispy crust and toppings all the way to the edges. We had the all meat pie and just couldn't finish it. We boxed it up and took it back to the hotel for the desk clerk. He had never been to Evans but said he will be going soon. Great experience!!!

We stopped in on a Wednesday afternoon for dinner, and right off the bat let the staff know we were looking for a gluten free option. They were able to accommodate this (for an extra fee, about $3) and hand make a personal pan pizza with toppings of your request. We certainly weren't expecting it to be as big or as good as it was either! We did not ask, though, if the gluten free pies were all you can eat as we only ordered the one. As for the regular buffet, it is smaller compared to Gatti's past but still had enough options to satisfy my nostalgia, the food tasted just as I remembered, which for me was fantastic. Heck, even the plates are just like I remember! When we arrived there weren't too many people, but I can definitely see if the place was full (the movie room, the sports room, and the cafe) how the buffet would be far too small to accommodate the masses. But when not at capacity, there is no issue. The staff were kind and attentive, and the game room was surprisingly fun! Also small, but has enough variety to make it worth it. Going up to the prize counter was just as exciting as it was when I was a kid! This was such a fun little treat to find and I had a great time!

While Niki's is located in the mall, it is far from the unsatisfying "mall pizza" that some people…read moreclaim it is. I've been going to Niki's for 20 years and, in my opinion, Niki's serves the best pizza in Victoria. My only critique is that the refills are not free (unless you ask for tea or water) and they do not deliver. Outside of this, the New York style pizza they cook is delicious, the ingredients used in their pizzas work well together, and the family that runs the pizzeria are friendly and personable. Of course, they have other entrees (calzones, salads, eggplant parmesan) that seem really good but I have not tried them, their pizza is just too delicious. I gave Niki's 5/5 stars because, in my opinion, despite my criticisms, this is as good as it gets in Victoria. Niki's makes delicious pizza. Thus, I recommend that you give Niki's a try and judge for yourself, we are all not as moronic as one critique would have you believe.
