On 09.20.2014 I went into Spiritwear Embroidery to have a shirt made for a girl on my softball…read moreteam. I needed the shirt by Wednesday, October 8th so I assumed I was giving it enough time to have the shirt made. I brought a shirt just like the one I needed made as an example, spoke with two employees there at the store, gave all the details, paid my money, was assured it would be ready in time and left assuming the shirt would be made. When I called back to check on the status of the shirt, I spoke with MJ who stated she was the owner of the company. I asked about the shirt and she stated that she never got the order - apparently due to an error made by one of the employees that helped me in which she stated only worked there for three days. From the beginning of my conversation with MJ, in my opinion, she seemed less than interested in my concern or taking responsibility for the situation yet she stated she would work on getting the shirt ready in time. Later, after a bunch of drama and wasted time, the shirt was not done and I was refunded my money. Will never do business with this store or owner again. I didn't feel like a customer, I felt like I was a bother. Very poor customer service.

MJ is great! I've been using Spirit Wear for four years now and have never been disappointed. Great…read moreservice and work quality. I definitely suggest using Spirit Wear. I own a pest control company and use them for all my uniforms.

This Ukrainian store offered a special Pysanky class the first weekend in April 2023. I had bought…read moretwo tickets but online for about $35 each at least a month in advance. In the end, I couldn't find anyone who would go with me, so I went solo. That was better anyway because I had a chance to interact with some of the other participants who were Ukrainian and spoke about this traditional peasant art. In some villages, women gather for psanky egg art, sometimes for sleepovers. It was common to give a suitor a decorative egg to accept a marriage proposal. Apparently pumpkins were given to turn someone down. The store sells a special $22 tool that suctions the contents out of the egg. Fortunately, this step was completed in advance for us. We simply drew our design and dyed our eggs. The process is more involved than one thinks because you want different layers of colors to appear for the end product. Consequently, you draw with melted beeswax, and then you dye your egg. You repeat this process starting with the lightest dye, yellow, and work towards the darkest color, brown or black. We used orange, green, and red between then. All of the class supplies were provided for us. We had a lump of beeswax which had been dyed black. This made it easier to draw with and see the lines. We had a tool with a wooden handle, and a metal cup affixes to the end. The cup had a small point that was held over the flame of a candle. Once hot, we would scrape our lump of beeswax and fill up the cup. We repeatedly heated up the tool tip, and then would carefully apply the tip to the egg to draw a design. After we drew a portion of the design, we would hold our egg initially under vinegar and then individual dyes to apply a layer of color. At the end, once everything was dry, the egg was held gingerly over the flame to melt off all of the beeswax and leave behind the bold layers of color and design. I didn't quite finish mine, and still need to do this last step. I recommend arriving early and getting in line to dye your eggs first. If you are last, you will be standing around waiting and end up shorted on time to complete the project. Overall, the instructions, materials, and project was very well done. I enjoyed this class immensely, and I would definitely consider doing it again.
