When I first called and went in to get a quote I was very impressed - easy to design and clear process. However, pickup was very disappointing. They failed to tell me that they were changing locations to 20 minutes away, so I had to hunt to figure out where the new location was - when I arrived the order was not what we had agreed upon and was very different than the reference form that I had designed in the original meeting. The size was wrong and was written straight, rather than at an angle as previously discussed. The woman working offered no apology or attempts to amend. I've ordered shirts online before many times but decided to support my local businesses for a change. Well, "no good deed goes unpunished," was the moral of my short visit to EmbroidMe near Mockingbird Station. After waiting for half an hour to been seen, I explained to the embroidme rep what I needed and asked if I could have a sample ready in a week because if the sample was good my organization would place a large order. She said it was possible but when I tried to make revisions to the design they hastily created she, and the manager, tried to rush me into making a decision. It got really weird when I politely asked to make a change to the design that I felt would make the shirt a better fit for my organization. Well, apparently I asked for Rome to be built in one day because I was immediately told no changes were possible. When I asked why the changes couldn't be made the embroidme rep became frustrated and kept pressing me to abandon my revision. (All of this happen within the span of 30 mins.) She was unable to answer my basic questions in an eloquent manner and repeatedly had to consult with the manger to muster new excuses that all sounded like things you would tell a two year old. And I understand customer requests can get out of hand with these types of business who cater to custom designs, but seriously my design was very small and not complicated at all. It was three lines of text, no graphics or elaborate design. The manager had to finally come talk to me in person because the rep was unable to explain why they were too lazy to edit my design. He basically said my request was impossible. (Not true, I had the shirt made with my design cheaper, faster and on time by a different company from San Antonio.) I was shocked by his temperament and by the way he quickly lost his composure, which mainly was attributed to the incompetence of his employee, as he told me my design was "impossible." It was total unacceptable behavior from a manager (he may of been the owner). At that moment I understood EmbroidMe really didn't care for my "small business." Who would of thought?! I thanked the manger for his business and politely walked out the store, forever. I've never experienced such a level of unprofessionalism from a business who is dependent on local business. I don't how this store has managed to stay in business after all the poor reviews on here. Save yourself the hassle and shop elsewhere these people think they are the only game in town. read more

I've gotten quite a few items custom-made, -embroidered, or -printed here, and both service and workmanship have been outstanding every time. This doesn't seem to be a universal experience, according to the negative reviews I'm reading here, but I found the owner and his employees to be quite pleasant and thoroughly professional. The orders I placed were processed in a timely fashion at a reasonable price. Very RUDE customer service. Then I was informed it would take three weeks to embroider 4 shirts, oh, unless I wanted to pay a lot more than the normal price. I just had my diaper bag monogrammed with EmbroidMe, and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience! The owner was even one step ahead of me and prepared several font and size options for me to choose from, and gave me his opinion on what would look and fit best. Staff is friendly but service is bad. They have a $30 minimum on all orders so I had to pay $30 to get my name on one coat (price is around $10 per coat but I only need one done so I have to pay $30 regardless of what I ordered.. fine). The manager said it would take a week for these two words on one coat... fine. 2 weeks later still no word from them. I called twice, no answer. I left a voicemail asking them to call me back with the status of the coat, no response. I drove up here today and they said they were "about to get to it" and I could come back in 2-3 hours. I told them I'd been waiting two weeks and don't have time to go home and drive back up here if and when they decide to call. She then did the coat on the spot. Took 5 minutes... No apologies or discounts. Won't be back. read more

I had them add my son's name to his back pack and lunch box (both from pottery barn) and the backpack turned out ok, but the lunch box.. they put the name right on top of a "batman" figure, so you can't even see it. When we'd discussed it at the consult, the rep indicated it would be in the blank space RIGHT about the batman. I mean, couldn't they have looked at that before monogramming? Very disappointed, will probably be buying a new lunch box and having pottery barn do the monogramming. And will definitely not be going here again. read more

I definitely would not recommend using EmbroidMe. I took my daughter's book bag for school in to have her name embroidered. After a long discussion and very specific instructions, I felt confident that her bag would be correctly embroidered, however the next day I received a phone call to let me know that my order was completed, but they had mistakenly embroidered it on the wrong side. Needless to say, I will have to reorder a book bag and will have to pay to have it embroidered by a competent embroidery shop, so it's going to cost me twice what it should to get it done correctly. I will NEVER recommend or use this company again. read more

We have worked closely with Michelle and Christiana at EmbroidMe for the last year. Our first couple of orders went smoothly - no problems. This last shirt order had a few hiccups - there were a few spots on the shirts and then a small hole. Larry, the owner, had the shirts dry-cleaned - the stains were still there. He replaced the shirts - and they weren't exactly cheap shirts either. He also hand delivered them to our office, which was a nice gesture. Don't judge a book only by its cover - including the negative reviews here. Everyone looks good in a sunny weather. Wait until it gets really messy. Only then you'll be able to find out who can count on - Michelle was great at sending email updates and has a pleasant demeanor - just make sure you ask for her. Every company makes mistakes, but you want to stick with those who can fix them quickly and make you happy in the end. Our shirts made it on time and we're off to Las Vegas! THE WORST SERVICE EVER, seriously! I am a professional marketer and I buy lots of promotional items, printing and marketing collaterals, so on Wednesday 10/22 I needed (9) shirts for one of my clients nearby and in a hurry. I googled direct-togarment printers nearby and they were on the list... I went to their website and it said they did what I needed so I contacted them to get this done. After calling the store and speaking with AMBER, I sent a detailed eMail indicating all sizes, shapes, colors and requirements as well as a Proof of what they should look like and the vector graphics of the artwork that they needed to make the shirts happen. [It couldn't have been more easy on their end] AMBER was very nice and I thought this was going to be simple. This is the email I sent: Amber, Thanks for your help... I need (9) Total shirts and most likely they will need to be direct-to-garmet because of the amount of colors in the logo. I need them by 11/5/14 I need them printed on any kind of purple camo shirt [I'm not picky as long as its purple camo] The sizes are: (2) Small (1) Medium (2) Large (1) X-Large (2) XX-Large (1) XXX-Large I am attaching a comp of the front and back printing along with the front and back vector graphics Thanks so much, Now, Although embroidme-Dallas looked at all my files, looked for the specific shirts I wanted and thought of their alternative solution to the printing, then quoted me a rediculously high price [almost $40 per shirt, most places it's $20] I agreed to it because I was short on time and they are nearby to me and my client... Also they quoted me for iron-on's when I asked for Direct-to-garment [Because they either don't listen or they lied and don't have the equipment.] I waited a day to see if anyone else had a normal price, but ended up getting busy and didn't have time to shop around any further, so... After calling and giving CHRISTIANA my credit card information over the phone and approving the order I thougt my problem was solved. WRONG an hour later through an email, not a phone call mind you, CHRISTIANA said that the quote they made was wrong and the price was going to be even higher. Here's her response [after they had already quoted me and I'd paid]: Mr. Curtis, After looking at your .jpg of the shirt front and back, I noticed that you have an outline around the white font. However, the price quoted only included a solid white no outline text for front and back. The logo design will be full color as you see. Before I charged the card, I was just making sure that solid white letters with no outline was good with you. Thank you. Christiana To which I replied [sarcatically tru, but by now I'm irked]: I'll have to look elsewhere then... Maybe someone who can do direct to garment. Your website said you did that's why I went with you. No border on the purple camo would be awful. There has to be a border. How come you didn't look at the jpeg before you made the quote? I think you should honor the quote that's your mistake and the price is already high and I don't have a lot of extra time to mess with this now Then I sent this hours later: After not getting any response for several hours, I sent this: Hello, Have my shirts been ordered yet? This process is getting complicated with you and is unexeptable [I am the customer afterall] You need to process my shirts the way you quoted them. I originally asked for direct-to-garment printing and don't understand why you need to create a transfer or screen... I expect a call first thing tomorrow to get this matter cleared up. STILL Nothing, so... Now, after never hearing from them or after asking them to contact me and they didn't I called them today to get this resolved. I expected Amber to be back and just handle it, but when rude Christiana got on the phone I asked for the manager... When LARRY got on the phone, I really expected him to fix it [why would you lose a customer and a potential repeat customer over not making your quote happen the way you quoted it?] Instead rude-ass Larry just made the situation worse by not handling it, making excuses for his inept staff/processes and then talking poorly to me and caring more about saving his $5 or whatever then just "manning-up" and handling the situation properly [which is take care of your customers, or since this is our first time working together you should remeber "you only get one chance to make a good first impression] My phone automatically records every phone call, for this purpose; and so I don't miss details of phone orders. If you'd like to hear how bad this company handles printing shirts, poorly handles their bidding and payments, has the worst customer service approach EVER. Do not go to this business! I put in a simple embroidery order and made it very clear that I needed it on a specific date. I prepaid for the order and on the due the order was not ready. They did not even contact me to let me know that it would not be ready on the due date, which by the way was clearly marked on my receipt. When I contacted them to determine when the order would be ready, they said "possibly" a few days after the original due date. When I explained to them that I needed it that day, the person I spoke with, Larry, was very rude. He said that he would cancel my order and refund me my money. After a hellish ordeal trying to order a custom hat from Lids, I bought a blank hat and took it to EmbroidMe hoping they could do a very specific job in a short amount of time. Larry spent 30min helping me pick out the exact graphic, lettering and colors I wanted. His recommendations were super helpful and it was clear he knows what he's talking about. He went above and beyond what I was hoping for at an incredibly reasonable price. I wish I would have taken it to them in the first place. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! Worst customer service ever! Amber (red head) is very unfriendly and not helpful. We ordered our marathon relay team shirts here and had never ordered shirts before, so we were hoping for some friendly guidance, and were sorely disappointed. Amber has been extremely rude to everyone from our office that has stopped into the store, including our boss. She stopped helping us to assist other customers who walked in while we were there, she rolled her eyes repeatedly when asked questions, every question we asked was answered with "I don't know". Bad experience, you know when you pick up your dry cleaning, get home and there is something wrong? You call them and they deny that they did anything wrong? That is my experience. Have all your ducks in a row, count everything, twice, maybe even a third time. I will give them some credit in that they owned up to destroying two of the garments we were having embroidered but no comment like, we are not going to charge you for them. Also I had to follow up consistently to find out when the project would be complete. Customer service needs a lot of help. I won't be back. read more
