I have very thick Asian hair and Noelle has always done an amazing job with it. I've gotten approached by strangers in public asking me where I get my hair cut! Noelle is incredibly experienced in executing a wide range of styles. No matter how crazy I think my requests are, she never even bats an eye. I always come out of the salon looking just like the reference photos I show her. Can she dye my hair pink? No problem. Can she copy a Japanese celebrity's pixie cut on me? Absolutely! A lob with a hidden undercut? Yes! This one was literally my favorite haircut that I've ever gotten. I'm definitely coming back to ask her to do the same exact thing again. I have been visiting L'Elegance for about four years now. My daughter began having her hair styled by Noelle and I followed shortly after. Noelle is a creative genius, she can make the most dramatic updos for special occasions (my favorite was my 1920s style for my 40th birthday party), but is equally talented in my typical "color my greys, make sure I can do a ponytail" request (which is probably way more difficult than bringing a picture of what I want my hair to look like). Before every cut, Noelle is very clear to explain what she's going to do, she asks what I want, right down to asking which way I part my hair before she begins cutting. Not great service. The hairstylist was not friendly. Tried to make conversation and was getting not much replies. A different hairstylist was making comments about how thin my hair is, which is an insecurity of mine. Then continued to try and over charge me. Noelle is an incredible stylist! She helped me donate 12 inches of hair to Wigs for Kids and go from long hair to pixie cut for the first time in my life. The stylists are committed to consistently continuing their education, and regularly attend workshops and classes to keep up with current methods, style, and trends. All of the stylists are supportive of each other and their clients,and the atmosphere is professional and friendly. This salon is also committed to serving the community. It frequently hosts cut-a-thons to benefit everything from local families in need to larger organizations, such as the American Cancer Society. This season, the salon will be collecting toys for tots and also sponsoring a food drive. I've been a client for going on two decades and I've seen very few stylists come and go; there is little turnover but a consistently evolving style. This tells me that the stylists are happy, and there is a commitment to continued growth. I have ridiculously hard to manage hair, yet the staff at this salon knows how to make it flatter me; I hesitate to use the word "magicians", but they sure come close! I had my hair cut there a couple weeks ago as a first time client. Unfortunately I will not go back. My hair is on the thicker side. I told her what I wanted and she did not follow what I asked for. The scissors were very dull and the back of my hair came out so choppy and uneven. The only reason I gave 2 stars is that the hairdresser was so friendly and lovely. A few years back, Noelle joined the staff and has become not only the stylist for myself and my family, but also for my photography clients prior to their portrait sessions. Noelle and Gabby both have teamed with me as HMU stylists for executives, high school seniors, actors and model portfolios. They are insanely talented along with the confidence in their artistry that is required for high end business and entertainment industry publication and promotions work. I've been going to L'Elegance for several years now, after my beloved local salon closed its doors. I was nervous about going to a new place since change can be aggravating. My first impression was a lasting one, as I entered this cozy and inviting atmosphere, one that appeared laid back and relaxing. The staff seemed friendly, and the other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves. I was promptly greeted and got in a chair only moments later. I had the pleasure of having Michelle cut my hair that day, and I was impressed that she was able to interpret my vague description of my expectation into exactly the right cut that I desired. It's nice when I return and do not even have to explain what I desire anymore; rather, I just say "the usual" and it is consistently the same. The level of satisfaction that this salon delivers is above and beyond what I have expected, based on haircut experiences from other establishments in the past. This hair salon is not an LGBTQ+ accepting place and I would not go there if you do not feel like being questioned in your own identity just for a simple haircut. In the past I had gotten a ladies haircut because I had gotten my very long hair cut to a very short bob. Several months later as I had gone through many personal changes in my life and had been wearing a short, guys haircut for a while and felt comfortable to express my own identity; I then returned to this place knowing I had been treated well before and signed up online for a guys haircut. I went in and showed my stylist photos of a guy with the cut I wanted, she then trimmed my hair and when I went to pay the receptionist who put me down for a ladies cut. I had to pay $65 for a cut I was only prepared to pay $30 for, which was the one I signed up for. Instead they denied me this service. Even though there was a guy who came in at the same time as me for a similar cut, who had longer hair than I, would have been accepted for the $30 guys cut. The woman would not allow me to pay for the cut I had received and instead continued to remind me that last time I came in I got a ladies haircut and said she did not understand. If that was not the most rude, cissexist, transphobic, ignorant thing I had ever heard. And then later tried to explain that I received a women's short haircut which was a different service when I had signed up for a guys haircut and said I was the one who was confused. Thank you but I'm not the one who is confused and I would most definitely not recommend this place to anyone. read more
