I chose them on a whim, I was down to the wire and struggling to find a beauty team who was available on my date and would travel. I locked them in, and started seeing Elizabeth regularly before my wedding to get my hair in good shape. Elizabeth does an AMAZING job and just gets me and my hair. The team the day of my wedding made every bridesmaid and family member look like movie stars, and they were so sweet, fun and professional. I honestly have never felt more beautiful. So I'm changing my review. I came to get my hair done here as a referral from a friend. And it turns out they suck. I loved my hair when she was done. But over the next few weeks it started to break off. I feel conditioned it, never dried it or put hot tools in it. And it started to break and fall off. Literally my hair was like string cheese. I went back to my old hair dresser and it turns out she severally damaged my beautiful hair. Go no end. I had to cut all of it off. She also ruined my friends extensions. Beware they look good in the pictures. But after some time you realize your hair has been ruined. Stay clear ladies! Go to somewhere good. Also they called me about this review! And said they would fix it! Guess what that was a lie! -update: went to a great place in Keene NH and my hair was fixed. Called salon midosa. Moved to SC and was waiting for phone call and never got one. :) read more

Just recently got my hair done by Rachel and she was fantastic, she took the vision I had for my hair and totally surpassed it and trust me I walked in with a disaster on my head. She is up to date with the latest trends and really takes in to account what would look best and most flattering with your style. I had past hairstylists try and give me the cut and color I was looking for and she is the first stylist to really hit it on the head. Would recommend her highly, Will definitely be back! As far as the salon goes it's just as fabulous the owner has really gathered a team of unique individuals that mesh well together and give off a great vibe to the salon. Had my first visit at the Beauty Bar yesterday and I am beyond impressed. Having gone to a good majority of the top salons in Boston over the years it's easy to have high expectations but I can safely say my experience at the Beauty Bar really ranks up there and is the best I have had in recent memory. The decor is very glam and fun without being over the top, the salon is super clean, stylists are super friendly and knowledgable, and the products are top notch. I saw Marisa and was looking to dye my red hair brown which was a big transition for me and she absolutely nailed the color- I have gotten so many compliments! On top of that my hair was in pretty bad condition and she made me feel totally comfortable. She also suggested the Olaplex treatment to help bring life back to my hair and I honestly can't praise it highly enough- my hair is silky and shiny for the first time in ages! Definitely an Olaplex believer. If you are looking for a new salon in the area definitely give Beauty Bar a try. Jamie cut and styled my hair, not only did she give me an awesome cut but she was so nice and fun. I followed Stephanie from her previous salon near my home in Waterbury; I could walk there but now it's a 20-minute drive to The Beauty Bar. That's how much I value her skills as a stylist. Whenever I have to find a new hair stylist, I absolutely hate it because I'm a perfectionist and picky about my hair style. I'm an older woman with straight, coarse, thick hair but I don't want a conventional "old lady" haircut. I like to style my hair in a deliberately messy way so I want tons of texture. Stephanie listened to me and from her first cut, I've loved what she does with my hair. She's kind and patient, and will happily "take a little more off the top" or "tighten it up around my ears" after she's cut my hair and then pauses to ask what I think. I just went to my fourth appointment for Balayage highlights/cut. I found this salon after a bad color experience at my last salon, also I haven't really found "my salon" over the years due to just never REALLY getting what I want or being misunderstood in what I was hoping to achieve in color. The owner Adrianna is amazing and somehow knows exactly what I thinking (or makes it even better!) with just a photo and my confusing description (I'm very confusing!). If you are looking for true Balayage, ecaille, or color melt style color and modern trends this is the only place to go. You will never leave with brassy hair or something you didn't want, and they are always offering to fix in the event it doesn't meet 100% expectations (hasn't happened!). Adrianna gave me a beautiful, beautiful cut this past week. She took almost 6 inches off my hair and it looks amazing! She listened to what I wanted done and gave her expert advice on how much to cut, the type of cut, layering, etc. I feel great! My husband walked in the door the night after my haircut and immediatley told me how much younger I looked and how my hair looked incredible. Thanks Adrianna! I came to The Beauty Bar from Long Island to have my hair cut and colored. After looking through Instagram to find a hairstylist I felt would achieve the color I wanted, I decided on Rachel. The day I went it was snowing out and I came on the ferry from Long Island, so I was running about 15 min behind. I called the salon to let them know, and they said it wasn't a problem as Rachel was still working on her client. When I got there I walked in there was nobody at the desk. Then a stylist came over and asked who I was. It happened to be Rachel. Still with her eyes on the computer, she said "You're with me" rather rudely. Being as it was my first time, I was a little taken back. She took me back to her chair. She asked what I wanted and I showed a picture. She said baby lights would be the best option. She went and mixed the color and came back out. I could probably count on one hand how many words she spoke to me the entire time. She didn't ask where I'm from, what I do, how I found out about the salon. Nothing. Since I was basically sitting in silence, my eyes roamed the salon. I did notice it was not very tidy. Bleach marks on the curtains, color stains on the chairs by the heat lamps. When she was done foiling, I sat in the chair for a bit before being moved to the heat lamps. Rachel came back and checked my foils and took me to the sink. She took the foils out and put a glaze on. She brought me back to finish my cut and blow out. She finished my cut and proceeded to blow me out. Didn't asked if I liked volume, if I liked product. Nothing. She finished the blow out and did ask if I wanted curls, so I said I wanted some beach waves. When I was finished she brought me to the front desk and rang me up. I was going back and forth between writing a review or not for a few days. While the color came out nice, it wasn't exactly what I had asked for. I think the poor communication was why it resulted that way. While I think the girls are probably very talented as the pictures on Instagram show, the poor customer service negated that. read more

I got an ombré done by Marisa and it came out exactly the way I wanted it to!! I've been to a few other salons trying to get a nice ombré, but Marisa was the one who was able to do it perfectly! Elisabeth gave me a haircut Thursday morning, and I wanted to wait a few days so I could give an honest review on the cut, but it is fabulous!!! She is so nice and conversation was effortless. She talked to me before we started to make sure it came out the way I wanted, and it did... she did such an amazing job!!! My hair was super long down to my butt, and now it's about shoulder length... any other time I would probably cry lol, but this cut is so cute and fun I am beyond happy with it. I've seen beautiful pictures from hair dressers at this salon on their instagram accounts while looking for a new salon to go to. I had to write this review just because I feel like it's important for the owner to know. I didn't end up making an appointment at the Beauty Bar because I was treated so rudely when calling. The girl answered the phone and I explained that I had seen on their website to fill out a form, instead of calling, to request an appointment. OK, I get that not all salons have a designated receptionist to answer the phone at all times, but I had questions I wanted to ask before making the appointment. The woman quickly cut me off, in a not so friendly voice and acted as if I was asking for something insanely ridiculous. I just wanted to ask a question! I could basically hear her rolling her eyes through the phone as she rudely told me that "no one can help you right now you'll have to call back" I simply said ok thank you and hung up. I understand that salons are busy and have clients & don't have time sometimes to be on the phone but a business savvy person should be aware that first impressions are lasting impressions, and it's not difficult and takes no extra effort to simply be polite to a potential customer/customers. The pictures are beautiful, work well done! But I'm sure I can find equal beauty at a salon with polite people that appreciate the business. read more

I had Sienna do my sister's, my mom's, and my hair for my wedding and was very happy with the results. She made sure we got exactly what we wanted and we all looked fantastic all night (I even got a complement on my hair the morning after!). She was very friendly and professional and made us all feel comfortable and relaxed. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because there was a little confusion at their office about the start time and she showed up an hour before I expected. It ended up working out well, but it did add a little stress to an already busy day. read more

I chose The Beauty Bar because I was looking for two things: 1) Hair and makeup artists that would come to my house because I didn't want to have to go to a salon the day of the wedding 2) Hair and makeup artists who were comfortable with more natural, ethereal looks, rather than typical "bridal" looks Their services are reasonable compared to other salons that travel to your home, and they were excited to do more natural looks on myself, my sister, and my mother. These ladies delivered! Sierra did my hair and Egzona did my makeup. I met them both at my trial and they were great! So nice and they both knew exactly the feel I was going for. Not to mention they sure make a girl feel good about herself! At the wedding, both were on time and efficient. My hair looked exactly as it did on the trial. I threw Egzona a curve ball and decided to change my look slightly from the trial. She executed it perfectly, without any hesitation. My mom and my sister looked beautiful as well! The hair and makeup had some serious staying power, ladies! They use airbrush make up, and I was getting hugged, and kissed, and I danced up a storm, and my makeup still looked flawless at the end of the night. I had terrible allergies they day of my wedding, so I was so happy that it didn't wear off! As for the hair, it didn't budge - even with all the hugging. In fact, I slept on it! And in the morning, there were a few flat spots and some pieces that fell, but a few tucks here an there and it was good to go for the pizza brunch we had that afternoon. These ladies are fantastic! I am just thrilled to FINALLY find a Salon that offers Hair and Make-Up under one roof! I had a special occasion a couple of weeks ago and really didn't want to worry about doing my own Hair or Make-Up. So I did a Google search and found the Beauty Bar right in my town. Elizabeth did my Make-Up and Adriana did my hair and WOW I was so impressed by both these ladies. Elizabeth makes you feel like you've been friends for years and Adriana the Owner is so nice. Needless to say, my hair and make-up came out absolutely stunning and lasted from noon until 1:00 a.m. which was bedtime so it probably would have lasted a lot longer. I loved everything so much that I decided that this is now my new Salon! I went earlier today and Elizabeth did my color, highlights and cut and I couldn't be happier. I already have my next Hair and Make-Up appt. scheduled for May when I go to see Pink in concert for my 19 year Wedding Anniversary and I can't wait because I know with the help of Elizabeth and Adriana I will look fabulous!
