I first visited Salon Dior last fall, after trying to find a local replacement for my previous hairdresser who was an hour away. I had been seeing her for 7+ years, but was getting sick of the long drive and wanted to find someone closer. After hearing a few good reviews, I went ahead and booked an appointment with Summer for partial highlights/lowlights and a trim. I'm very particular about my hair and don't trust just anybody, so I was very nervous! But Summer calmed my fears quickly. Not only did she do a great job on my hair, but she is very friendly and easy to talk to. Her husband does men's hair in the salon, and they both seem to be very genuine good people. The atmosphere in this salon is very laid back and casual. One of the things I try to avoid in salons is pretentiousness, and there is none of that here. I have seen Summer two other times since my initial visit, and I trust her fully with my hair. This last time, we did a very dramatic angled bob (took off about 7 inches combined between visits 2 and 3) and heavy highlights. The cut and color are both fantastic and I have gotten so many compliments. Prices are also very reasonable. One thing to keep in mind is that their credit card machine does not have a spot to add in a tip, so make sure you have cash for tip or tell her how much tip to add before she scans the card. I forgot this last time and had to scan a second time for the tip since I never carry cash. I highly recommend this hidden gem salon in Wallingford, and I am so happy to have great hair without having to drive an hour each way! read more

I found this place by searching on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! I moved to CT a few years ago and was still driving home to NY and getting my haircut whenever I visited my parents. I was very nervous to let someone new cut my hair, and Summer was fantastic. She made me feel comfortable from the moment I walked in the door! I told her what I was looking for and she did a wonderful job. I told her I was thinking of coloring my hair too, and she worked with me to figure out exactly which color would work and how much to do for my first time coloring. Started with a few highlights to test it out and will definitely be going back to add some more! I absolutely recommend this place even to those who are very selective about who they let near their hair. They are excellent! read more

Summer & Zee are the absolute best! Summer has been highlighting, cutting & styling my hair for years. She is extremely talented & skilled at what she does. Not to mention, she is kind, funny & easy to talk to while she works her magic to make you look your best. Zee is amazing with how he cuts my son's hair who has a difficult cowlick. He gets his hair to lay in a manner so it doesn't stick up in odd ways. No other barber has been able to do that! The best part of Salon Dior is how accommodating they are. Hands down Zee and Summer.. the owners.. run the best shop Ive ever been to. Zee is not only a terrific barber but he has that old school barber feel. He will chat you up and he really knows his customers. You cant find this type of place anywhere else. Zee is top notch and runs his store with class. And ladies you will find no better stylist than his wife Summer. My wife goes to her and Summer takes the extra time to make sure she always leaves satisfied. I am in town from Los Angeles and was in need of color and cut. I am so glad I popped into this salon. My stylists nam was Summer and she did an amazing job. She covered my gray, gave me some subtle highlights on my bangs, cut my hair into along layered bouncy do and did an awesome blow out and a few barrel curls! I love it and she was great to talk with and very friendly. I would love to come back if I'm ever in the area again. Me and my wife have been going to Summer and Z for around 12 years now, as far back to when they were at the Brass Mills Center mall in Waterbury. We loved the way they work with children and how they interact with their customers so much, that we followed them and remained customers of theirs when they opened their own location in Wallingford. Yes, it is a travel for us since we live in Naugatuck, but the fun interaction they have with each other, and with their clients as well makes it all worth it. I have been going to Salon Dior since it opened and i can't say enough about them. Both Summer and her husband Zee are so personable and friendly! I have had just about every service they provide such as hair coloring, highlights, blow outs, and waxing. Summer does a fantastic job and I always leave looking my best!
