I had blonde highlights that were very grown out and wanted to dye over them back to my natural which is a warm medium brown. My hair came out pitch black with a red tone to it. The service took long and she kept stopping and left the dye sitting on my head for about 1 hour then came back and put more dye on my head and then left me sit??? My skin is very very sensitive and it was sitting on it to the point where my scalp was burning a bit. My hair was not rinsed well and it left a film like there was too much conditioner that was still on my hair and there was dye left on my shirt, my face, and my scalp and hairline. Then I was told to just use rubbing alcohol at home to get it off. And I heard my stylist talking very loudly about me in another room saying what I was asking for was not realistic and it was too hard and if it was taking to long for a simple color it's not her problem... Mind you she kept stopping and would not wash my hair out left a treatment I didn't ask for on my hair for 30 mins in between washing me out and when I called raising my concern it was brushed off and they would not give me a refund. Mind you I am a 17 year old girl in high school who paid 150$ to leave the salon in tears!! Thank you Mimi's salon but you just lost a client

Let me start off by saying I'm the past, I went to the same hair salon for 10 years and refused to…read morelet anyone else touch my hair, paying $400+ a visit. However after finding out that that hair salon could no longer cut my hair due to a staff change, I was in desperate need for a skilled hairdresser to take on the challenge that is my thick curly hair. With a lot of skepticism and with my nerves high, I called and tried to schedule an appointment with whoever was available. The receptionist told me that someone named Rebecca was available and she could cut my hair the following Monday. Rebecca did an amazing job, which made me decide that this was a new hair salon for me. However I then tried to reschedule an appointment three months later, and found out that Rebecca had taken another job. Rather than be nervous about who else would be able to cut my hair, I very confidently explain my situation to the receptionist and she recommended Lucy. I have never had an experience at a hair salon as good as the experiences I've had with Lucy, I have shown her three different pictures of hair ideas that I want, and she has matched them to perfection... And I am not an easy customer to please. In addition, I typically find it rather difficult to keep conversation with my hairdresser, but with Lucy the conversation flows easily and you can tell she is genuine and truly cares about her clientele. Please, please, if you are considering this hair salon definitely choose it. I've never had an entire staff team be so gentle with my scalp, while also being careful not to damage the curls that I have worked so hard to grow out. I drive 75 miles to get my haircut and highlighted, and I will continue to do that as long as this place is open.

I needed a haircut desperately but hadn't found a place I was crazy about. After checking yelp for…read morerecommendations, I gave Broadway Hair a call to see if they take walk-ins. They do, and asked when I thought I might be in. I told them and the man who answered said I shouldn't have a problem getting in for a haircut at that time. I did have to wait about 30 minutes when I arrived; definitely not "no problem getting in". I had the time to spare, but had to keep feeding the meter my car was parked at out on Broadway. One stylist left for the day while I was waiting and didn't clean up their workstation, instead just saying to their coworkers, "Sorry I'm leaving a mess." Hmmmm . . . My haircut was fine. I didn't need anything drastic, and the stylist did a good job. I was a little put off that no prices were posted, and that when I went to pay, my stylist said they would give me $5 off their regular price for a woman's haircut. BTW, this directly contradicts another Yelper's report that they charge you on length of hair, instead of whether you're male or female. It irked me that they acted like they were doing me some huge favor by saving me $5, when I would really have preferred consistent pricing posted so I could determine whether I was really getting a bargain. So, haircut was fine, but this place definitely has some professionalism issues. I might return but will probably try and find a place that I like better instead.
