Wrapped chicken salad sandwich
Nancy G.

I love this spot! The sandwiches are always loaded and taste so fresh! My go-to drink is the iced matcha with a hint of sweetness! So good! There's usually a line when I go on weekends but it moves really fast. The employees are always courteous. There's a patio right outside on Damen with tables & chairs that's perfect for dining when the weather is nice! Prices are so affordable that I will be back again & again!

This is a very small cafe right next to the Pink line station. You line up at the door inside the train station and you exit through the other door on the other side. The line wasn't too long when I was there. They have a moderate amount of food and drink options. I had 'L' Cubano sandwich which was a big portion for the price. It has real pork and some lunch meat. Quite delicious! The espresso (single shot) with some creamer was ok. It looks like the nice coffee mugs that they've posted here in 2020-2021 are for sale and not used in the store. Seats are limited. The outdoor seating area is not available now during winter. I saw many people take their food to go. Parking looks tricky lol

Welp once again L Cafecito Jumping Bean came in on clutch!!!! Every time I make a delivery at Supermo I have to get my fix!!!Fast and perfect service and that everything bagel with Cream cheese??!!! Boom! Every time. Orale!!!See yall next time!! Gracias!!!

BEST COFFEE OF MY LIFE

I've found it!!! The best coffee in the world (or at least where I've tried lol) I stopped here on a whim because I was going somewhere nearby and wanted a cup of coffee. This place is tiny but they had a line out the door! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. I had a breve which is espresso, milk, and sugar - it was amazing!! It tasted like chocolate but I didn't add any. I looked at the bagged coffee and it had notes of chocolate. I bought a bag of beans and brought them home back to Cleveland and I've been drinking it since I came home. Thankfully they sell the beans online so I'll definitely be ordering some.

Ginger Tumeric Almond Milk Espresso Latte & Mexican Chocolate Espresso Latte.

THE BEST coffee I had while in Chicago. And definitely going to be my go-to whenever in town! The coffee shop is pretty small so there is very little counter seating by the window. But there is a pretty big outdoor space that has seating. Ginger Turmeric Almond Milk Espresso Latte - Very lightly sweetened and the perfect amount of that ginger burn. I could drink this EVERYDAY. It's perfection. Mexican Chocolate Espresso Latte - The perfect blend of sweetness and slight bitterness. The espresso here is so smooth and delicious. Probably one of the best espresso I've had in the states. (I drink a lot, a lot of coffee) Prices are super reasonable. Service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.

One of the reasons why I really love living in Pilsen is because of spots like this. These little independent coffee, shops and sandwich, shops and restaurants are located all over this community. I really hope that it remains this way, and that it is not gentrified to the point where it just looks like everywhere else. This particular café is about four doors down from my house. When I tell you I love this place, I am not exaggerating. Javier who may be the owner...I'm not sure because he is always there...is super friendly and amazing. All of the staff is very helpful and friendly and they all take turns making sure no one is really waiting too long to get their order taken. Even when I am walking my dog and I want to stop for a coffee they are really cool about letting my very tamed pup sit next to me while I wait for my drink. This place is a neighborhood gem with not just coffee but also good sandwiches. On the weekends I'm either here or at another local gem that is one block away getting something to eat. This establishment is actually inside of the CTA station so it's nice and warm if you have to wait outside the door. This place is excellent so often times the line is definitely long but it is worth the wait.

Showed up to a line and I can see why! The prices are super cheap for this high rent area and the subs are made with fresh ingredients all the way down to local bread! Jim, the owner, has this place dialed in and takes pride in what he is putting out. I wish more restaurant owners had the same mentality that he does for quality over quantity. The space is amazing too, has the old world charm that you seek out in these older buildings. I feel very lucky to have got to go to this wonderful restaurant and I highly recommend it to anyone that wants a great sub at a terrific price! Thank you to the entire Graziano crew for doing what you do and making this a special restaurant in Chicago!

While in the area some time ago visiting Five Guys, I couldn't help but notice Schlotzsky's sign…read moreprior to leaving the area, which had a glowing eye-catching storefront sign. I imagined it was an ice cream shop, but after checking their website, I discovered they serve oven-baked sandwiches on signature sourdough bread, gourmet pizzas, flatbreads, calzones, fresh salads and Cinnabons as well. My initial visit came unexpectedly while headed to do laundry. Schlotzsky's is located within the Illinois Medical District in a sector filled with many well-known restaurant chains. I must warn you beforehand, but it can be a painful experience finding a parking space in this tight lot, which also shares space with a Hampton Inn. I honestly thought that was a poor location for a Hampton Inn--let alone any hotel--but I guess it is a win if you are staying at the hotel itself. I was acknowledged shortly by the employee who assisted me after walking up to the counter to review the menu. After browsing the offerings listed above, I ended up ordering the veggie supreme pizza. I chose it because nothing else on the menu interested me, except for their broccoli soup. My order was completed less than 10 minutes after I placed it. During that time, I was able to thoroughly look over the menu and snap pictures of it to share on Yelp. I opted not to dine in and chose to take my order to go. While there was nothing wrong with the atmosphere, I was on my way to do laundry after visiting a nearby post office. Aside from that, the dining area appeared clean, the atmosphere was calm, and there were plenty of tables and seats available. I was really pleased with the appearance of the veggie supreme pizza; it was bigger than I expected. The gluten-free cauliflower crust was topped with sliced mushrooms, green peppers, red onions, and black olives, then sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Right before taking my first bite in between doing my laundry, I had a huge smirk on my face. It was incredibly satisfying; the toppings were evenly spread throughout, delivering the exact taste I anticipated. The first thing that hit me was the vibrant harmony of flavors. The sauce provided a savory baseline that perfectly complemented the earthy richness of the melted cheese. What truly elevated the experience, though, is the cauliflower crust. It held up beautifully under the evenly spread-out toppings, offering a delightful, crispy base that let the freshness of the veggies shine without feeling heavy. Every single bite is a balanced explosion of savory, tangy, and garden-fresh goodness. If you are unsure about what to order from the menu, look no further than the veggie supreme pizza--you will not be disappointed. Being that I had a great ordering experience, I would surely order from Schlotzsky's again whenever visiting the area. Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Food: 5 | Overall Rating: 4 ~ Live. Laugh. Its 4.8-star rating from over 1,500 reviews gave me the assurance I needed that I would have a quality experience. Looking through the menu at Ahuevo, I was interested in the "El Vurrito (Vegan)," which is a 100% plant-based burrito featuring vegan eggs, melty vegan cheddar, smoky vegan chipotle mayo, and crispy, golden tater tots--all wrapped in a warm tortilla. Yum! I must say that I was surprised to see it on the menu, and it became the sole purpose of my order. I ended up ordering it with vegan sausage. I love ordering online for the convenience and the ability to schedule a pickup time. Most of the time, my orders are ready--or nearly ready--upon arrival. By the time I reached the restaurant, my order was already complete. I initially drove past the restaurant because I didn't see any signage. Once I turned around on Kedzie Ave, my GPS led me to Mi Tierra, which Ahuevo is located inside. Ironically, right as I was leaving, I finally noticed the exact signage I had missed while looking for the place! Go figure! If you have ever driven down Kedzie Ave in Little Village, then you have likely spotted the exterior of Mi Tierra. Its terracotta-red facade, accented with warm beige or tan trim, arched windows, and a tower-like structure, stands out from the surrounding buildings, making it a recognizable landmark. As for my food! While taking the El Vurrito out of the box it was placed in, I stated to myself, "Oh my God, this is big!" which instantly made me think of a Chipotle burrito. Unwrapping it, I had the biggest smirk on my face in anticipation of what I was about to eat. "Hello!" It smelled so wonderful as I caught my first glimpse of it. Next, I cut it to see and take pictures to share on Yelp of what is inside of this luscious looking burrito. I was very pleased with the taste, as my tastebuds were hit with all the ingredients it consisted of. If you are unsure of what to order at Ahuevo and are a plant-based eater like me, I highly recommend it because it will leave you satisfied, period! I am very positive that I will order it again in time, being that the restaurant sits down the street from my residence. Because I had a great ordering experience, I would definitely order from Ahuevo again, whether for Uber Eats delivery or takeout, whenever I visit the area. Small spot you could casually pick up food and walk to if you're around downtown. Lots of cheese and sauce with a beautiful baguette to remind you that this place makes pizza too. Dough, cheese, and sauce are what this place really excels in. It's no surprise that they do it well across the board. Out of the sandwiches I tried, the gardinera pairs the best with the Drunken Chicken sandwich. I'm unsure if my hunger pangs were amplifying my experience, but this sandwich was something of legends... The ingredients combo into something a little too unfair to not be distributed to the rest of America. The food really feels special when you have it late night after a really long day of fun. The people are casual and nice and didn't make it awkward to eat there even though the place itself is quite small. Considering cops came in to order here out of all the places around, I can see how anyone could make this their staple spot.

This one was a huge letdown! Been following known as for a while it was super excited to stop in…read morewhile traveling in Chicago. For starters I arrived at like 10:50 AM, they said they opened at 11. At like 1110 I'm looking around confused thinking maybe I missed something so I started checking their Instagram and see if maybe they had a last-minute closure. That was not the case at all they just opened about 15 minutes late that day for some reason. Once they finally open the doors and we get inside, I take a quick look at the menu in order the chicken Parm sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to come up. But I can say it was hot and seemed like they just cooked it fresh. I go to sit outside open it up take a bite absolutely zero seasoning Period I mean it has the breading on the chicken but I mean there's no kind of flavor in the breading so I taste this tomato sauce or the marinara that comes on the side that's just straight blended tomatoes, no salt, no sugar no spices no herbs nothing. I leave the food go inside ask for salt they end up giving me a small ramekin of salt. I go out and try seasoned the food so it's at least semi-edible. Unfortunately, top seasoning. Food is not the same as seasoning it along the way when you're prepping the food and so while I did help it a little bit it's still left a lot to be desired. I'm super disappointed that this is my experience because I had high hopes for this restaurant, I really wanted to enjoy a delicious sandwich instead, I received Some hot bland cutlets on bread. I don't know, maybe this is a bad day, maybe their delivery for season and didn't come in from their purveyor. I really don't know the issue. Maybe they got so busy. They forgot to season the food. All I know is at the end of the day. I paid the full price and got none of the seasoning that should've been on the food. Hell, I would've paid a little bit extra for it if I had to. Just highly disappointing because it was hot, the cheese was melted, it had the capability to be such a phenomenal sandwich, but it was really missing some key ingredients. Maybe then, being behind an open late should've been assigned that it was not gonna be their best performance. But after traveling across the country, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt because we all have bad days unfortunately, the day got worse than just opening a little bit late.
