They have pretty typical Korean bakery fare and pricing seems to be just a bit higher than competitors, probably somewhere around a 10% premium compared to similar family owned bakeries. On my visit I got two pastries to try: Soboro Cream ($3.49) - Instead of a delicately crackly cookie crust, this bun has a much softer, almost moist topping, which may be due to them placing the bread in the packaging before being fully cooled off, allowing the bun to steam too much. There's a bunch of sweetened stabilized cream inside that's sweet and oily. The bread itself is kind of dry and crumbly, either not a typical milk bread recipe or perhaps it had been sitting on the shelf for too long. (2/5) Corn Mochi ($5.99) - This comes with six pieces. The corn mochi has a nice chewy tapioca flour base. There's black sesame sprinkled throughout giving a burst of nutty flavor. I expected to see whole corn kernels baked inside but I think they just use corn flour in the dough. It's way less sweet than the soboro. Texturewise, the inside is bouncy while the outside has a harder baked crust. (4/5) Overall Le Bon Patisserie is a pretty average Asian grocery store-paired bakery. It's more of a place to buy bread for convenience rather than anything special, but it does the job decently well.

I am always intensely disappointed with myself for not remembering how much it sucks, especially with 85 Degrees bakery just down the block. My latest foray led me to two loaves of milk bread for $11!!!! WTF? First of all, the two loaves look absolutely different... one is a square, and the other one is more like the milk bread shape. The lady behind the counter assured me they are the same. Spoiler alert: they are not, but they are equally awful. For those of you who knows REAL Japanese milk bread, it is like magic. I f***in' love milk bread... and while I don't use drugs, I imagine the euphoria I feel when I bite into milk bread is similar to a drug high. La Bon's milk bread is literally the worst white bread I have EVER tasted. It's worst than any grocery store brand and tastes like paper mache, wait, no.... I ate paper mache as a kid and this is far far worse. The pure and utter sadness I feel every time I put a piece of that shitty white cardboard into my mouth is worthy of a country western song. And everything else from that place tastes like cardboard. DO NOT GO. Or if you do, just be forewarned.... godspeed.

Lots of flakey layers and excellent and kind customer service. She deserves a 5+. Brazillian food, especially, is quite rare in this area, so we decided to drop by on a weekday afternoon to try them out. unfortunately they were out of most of the Brazillian pastries, but we ended up getting 3 different items. Concha ($1.20) - This concha has a distinctively yellow colored interior. It's really pillowy and soft yet very rich like brioche. Usually I find conchas to be much drier and much less rich. The crust on top is crumbly and sweet. The bottom base is really the standout here. (4/5) Empanadas Crema ($2.49) - This is a denser bread that tastes like a cracker, kind of like a saltine. It's flour and water, unenriched, but not dry. The inside is filled with stabilized cream. It's not too sweet. (3/5) Pao Milho, Pan de Elote ($3.50) - This is dense and heavy, wet with tons of corn, whole kernels and pieces embedded throughout. It has a strong corn flavor. I would compare it to a bread pudding with corn. Corn bread pudding perhaps? With tres leches like syrup soaking things through. (4/5) I enjoyed the pastries at BraziMex Bakery. I wish they had a fryer for coxingha and other fried snacks though! Note: BraziMex has 3% credit card surcharge

This was at 8AM - first time I've visited an 85 this early and I wasn't expecting it to actually be decently busy! They also had the boba ready at 8AM and I couldn't resist getting a drink as well. Boba Milk Tea, Medium, 25% Sweet ($4.85) - I've only gotten boba in the afternoon from 85C, most recently from the Lynnwood location, and it wasn't very good at all. I'm guessing they don't rotate the boba at all, so ordering it earlier is better. The boba at 8AM is actually pretty good with a surprisingly decent chew and bounce and a good sweetness on the exterior that's also sticky and soft. The pearls aren't really consistent in size, but are consistent in texture, which is more important. For the tea - 50% sweet is usually way too sweet for me at 85C. 25% is good and not too sweet. Unfortunately there isn't much tea flavor and it mainly tastes milky and creamy. Milk Tea Rating: 3/5 Boba Rating: 4/5 White Chocolate Strawberry ($2.60) - Very soft bun with the typical artificial strawberry flavor. The bun is super soft with a nice subtle bounce. Small pieces of softened white chocolate are embedded in the strawberry flavored cream on the inside. It's a well balanced bun that's sweet but not cloying.
