And we were not disappointed! The food was simple and delicious - we started with a Caprese salad, very nice, followed by bread that was super fresh and a heartier flavor than we had at other restaurants. For entrees we decided on seafood after so many pasta and pizza meals - we tried their grilled tuna and grilled swordfish, and both were outstanding. The tuna had a nice salt/subtle seasoning and was prepared perfectly, seared on the outside and rare on the inside. My wife's swordfish was also nicely prepared, and the portion was huge - twice the amount she expected (see photos)! And the generous portion of veggies were tasty. For dessert my wife had tiramisu and said it was among the best she had on our entire trip (and she had many!). I had a wonderful pistachio dessert with almonds on the outside that was great (forgot the name), but highly recommend it. Service was professional and prompt (no hovering, a pet peeve). As we ate, the restaurant filled with locals who all seemed to know the staff personally, creating a friendly and comfortable atmosphere with a nice family feel. We walked to the restaurant so I can't comment on parking, but the neighborhood was clean and the restaurant exterior is well-lit. So, if you like excellent food at reasonable prices with great service, try San Mina!

The service was not as attentive as I would have liked it, but I must remember that I'm in Europe where they take things a little slower and let you enjoy your meal. The only restaurant we visited twice during our Italy trip & we already miss it so much! We came during both lunch and dinner. Both times were really great! Hubby loved the Costoletta alla Milanese (Veal Cutlet) so much that he ordered it both times we dined here. I loved their Gnocchi Bolognese (seasoned so perfectly and the best gnocchi I've ever had!), but I also wanted to try their Ossobucco (Pig's Foot) with Risotto. Both were really good, but the Ossobucco is on the heavier side & can be shared, just FYI. Always got their House Red and asked for olive oil & balsamic for the bread...so delicious! And last, but not least their Panna Cotta was so good! =') I would be a regular here if I lived in Milan! Excellent service, great food and atmosphere.

I would recommend making a reservation during prime hours and sitting outside if they have space there. The pizzas are the thin crust Roman style and very solid - the classic Margherita is the one to get as the execution is fantastic. You get the flavor of a NYC slice made with better ingredients and with a great thin crust. This reminds me of Marta in NYC which closed during COVID. The classic entrees are made in the comfort food style - solid flavors, generous portions, and good ingredients. Be sure to try the costelleta or ossobucco. The cutlet is perfectly tender with a crispy crust served with fantastic roasted potatoes. The ossobucco itself is just okay but the risotto is very satisfying especially with the bone marrow. If you are by the Duomo or Galleria and want comfort food this is a great option.
