We had spent the day in Milan and we were dressed casual. The "doorman" REFUSED to let us in. I could CLEARLY tell this was because of what we were wearing. They had about 10 tables outside on the patio. I explained to the doorman that we visit Nobu's all around the world and this is our 20TH Nobu location. He still refused to even let me step inside to take a picture. He waived a waiter over, I explained that this is the 20TH Nobu we are trying to visit, and somehow, magically, they had a table right away!! IMAGINE THAT!! I have NEVER, EVER, EVER, experienced this type of HORRIBLE service at any location around the world. I was appalled at the lack of service this Nobu showed. Extremely embarrassing for the brand. I will NEVER recommend this location to ANYONE.

We did not make a reservation because we weren't sure what time we could get there after a full day in Milan. So we were just planning on getting drinks & appetizers at the bar. Even though the bar was EMPTY, the "doorman" would not let us inside because of how we looked. You MUST be young & beautiful to enter this establishment. Luckily, a waiter overheard us saying we go to all of the Nobus around the world and found us a table outside. At this point, we didn't want to give them any of our money (which would have been a lot) so we just got drinks but no food. Our waiter was great but the doorman needs to be fired!

We randomly stumbled on this brand in Amsterdam and was happy to find another location in Milan - Just opened earlier 2019. We all had the nankou chicken ramen because this was the winner when we first tried Takumi. The ramen noodles were curly and cooked slightly over al dente. Broth was so creamy and rich I was impolitely drinking off of everyone's bowl (don't worry, no milk in there for those who are allergic to dairy). A pleasant surprise was how crispy the chicken skin was. Cooked as if it's traditional Chinese roasted pork with a lot of good flavor on both the meat and skin. The spicy miso with seafood is good too... though not as memorable as the nankou chicken ramen. Also recommend the housemade iced tea and the spicy okonomiyaki karaage chicken.

The hot and sour soup was amazing, and the spiciest thing I've eaten in Italy since moving here a month ago. It still wasn't super spicy, but it was exactly what I needed! They make their Pad Thai with thicker noodles, so there's more of a noodle taste than the sauce they normally pick up. I would've liked more quantity of the mix-ins, but the overall flavor was very good. I don't know why this place has €€€ - it should be categorized at €€. There are many affordable options. We discovered this restaurant as its close to duomo area and it's on the way to another Chinese restaurant. It looks quite small outside but inside is huge! It opens at 7 pm but we we got in like 15 min earlier, no problem. The reason we decided to try is because on the menu we saw dry hotpot dishes besides the Japanese dish and other Chinese ones. Any restaurant knows how to cook dry hotpot dishes know how to cook real Chinese food. So we go in, it took us a while to walk to our table, it was really huge. The tables are really clean and tidy. You can order prefixed 18.8 per person menu order as much as you want , but cannot leave any food otherwise receive a fine. Or you can order from another menu separately, which has some authentic dishes not on the prefixed ones. All the four dishes (spicy beef soup, vege fried rice, kungpao chicken, and dry hotpot veges ) are really really good, maybe spicy beef soup can be improved a little bit though as the complications of spices are not so comprehensive. We were surprised to taste authentic Chinese Sichuan food. Current review for this place is not so good I think maybe due to Japanese dishes and people who are not used to real Chinese food, but if you are looking for real Chinese food, this is the one to go. I did not give five stars because the waiter seems to be tired and no smile and just stare at you while eating .... Awkward ...

The other dish is sauté beef with ginger and leek and again, it was outstanding in authenticity and taste. Why not 5 stars? Well, I was charged 2 euros for a bowl of rice as the entrees don't come with rice. This is akin to charging extra for sugar when one orders espresso!
