I had pleasant interactions with both the cashier and with the sole gentleman customer service representative at Ocean State Job Lot on this visit. It was early afternoon on a work day, so the patrons were light, yet there were several stations open (3-4) and lines were 0-1 person deep. It was a whole different story, however, at the Customer Service desk. The line numbered 3, so I decided to make my purchases first, then check back in for my exchange. It was a different line up of customers by then, but I was #4 in queue. Poor Brian was the only rep behind the desk, and he also had to multitask helping out the other cashiers with their issues. I think I spotted the manager mulling about, and thought that it would be really nice if he were to jump on in to help thin out our line since the cashiers weren't trained for the task even though by then they were pretty free of customers. But nope. But Brian was personable, apologizing for the wait and thanking us for our patience. 4 stars for Brian and the gal who rang me up. 3 stars for the store on this January 2019 visit.

I sat in it today and the bottom ripped open. I only weigh 130 lbs and no one else used it. There's also a hole in the storage compartment on the bottom. I've always purchased my beach chairs from job lot and find myself having to replace them in a couple of years, but this is ridiculous! I'm done with Job Lot and all the junk they sell. I paid $40 for a chair I used for 5 months. I am beyond angry!

Working at Family Dollar was a terrible experience from the start to the finish. Knowing how retail…read morestores can get busy, and the timing of the seasons arriving can change a lot in regards to time flow, stocking inventory, and management, I am aware of how things can get a bit out of control, but this was more than out of control. It was a chaotic environment to work in, there was no level of respect or professionalism from management. It was to the point that if I made a mistake I was being belittled and cursed at and told "You're f***ing stupid!" by management. People are only hired here to be paid and walk out, and management has no problem with it either as they don't show any effort to fix the professionalism while they act the same way towards their own employees and customers. It was upon my decision that I decided to quit and telling my manager that I was quitting he just hung up the call on me. I do not in any way recommend that this place has any people considering to work here and any considering to buy here.

I feel like they want to fight you instead of service you , lol ! I really mean that ! The icing on the cake . I seen three( 3x) mice walking around ; with no care in the world . I tried not to scream. I paid for some soda pop and windshield fluid , and high bolt out of this joint ! I have dollar store trama . I don't think a bargain is worth this displeasure. My experience left me feeling , like I will never enter this store again , lol. Like I said this is like a scary movie ; and lots of Freddy's walking around this joint ; no mask needed! I hope I don't have nightmares about my dollar store experience .

Sometimes you can luck out with some really nice finds but of course, with the increase in popularity the last few years, it's much harder. Very affordable thrift spot though! Most items can be found ranging from $1.99-6.99, with some items being exceptions + slightly more in price but I haven't seen anything being more than $20, very rare. I love that they color coordinate all of the clothing. Makes it easy for if I am looking for something in a specific color, for sure. Large parking lot, so plenty of parking here. They keep it pretty organized here, having an entire row for men's sweatshirts, men's pants, women's outerwear/suits, women's tops, women's pants, & children's. **CASH ONLY! Remember to have cash with you if you plan to go here. They have an atm im pretty sure but much better to just have cash with you.

When you walk in, there's a sign clearly showing the colors of the week that are 50% off, which is a great way to save even more. The store was clean, everything was nicely put together, and the different sections were clearly labeled, including baby, women's, men's, and other categories. The items were organized by color rather than size, which was a little different, but everything was still easy to look through. The prices were also extremely reasonable, which is always a huge plus when thrift shopping! One thing to be aware of is that they are cash-only. There is an ATM inside the store, which is convenient, although I wish the employee had mentioned that when I asked if they only accepted cash. There are also other places nearby where you can get cash if needed. Overall, I really enjoyed shopping here. Great selection, reasonable prices, clean and organized, and definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area!

But for me, the real delight, is their hot food and coffee offerings. It's become our weekend breakfast/brunch haunt. The breakfast sandwich is delicious and after a small request, they agreed to sub the chorizo for avocado to make it vegetarian. I always appreciate this flexibility from the staff. The star of the show however is their breakfast wrap with the zhoug sauce. Made to order freshly scrambled eggs, a crispy hash brown, that delicious green sauce and you're in taste bud heaven. Of course, I cannot forget about their coffee. Mad respect for anyone that makes in house syrups and does not use that fake bottled stuff. And the coffee is strong but smooth too. We also tried the matcha strawberry latte with the fresh strawberry syrup (it's a bit more jammy than I prefer and so not the easiest to mix) but tasty nevertheless. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and might I add, we're happy they're here.

Bring cash; card isn't accepted. I wish they would accept card too, but this place has been here since before I was born. Respect. If you want something specific, call a few days ahead. Fish don't know you want to cook them in advance, so the market will need a heads up when you want fresh ingredients. Plan ahead. It's worth it! There's a lot of international chocolate for sale.
