It took them two more days to periodically finish-up installing walking pads and flashings. Cost was competitive and reasonable. I monitored their work and they were very diligent with sealing and securing everything, as well as replacing wood rot. The foreman and crew were very helpful and approachable. A few years back they also did an excellent job replacing my downspout & drainage. During a few days of +85 degrees weather, the house is noticeably cooler with the TPO (by 10 to 15 degrees) versus the old tar & gravel roof which absorbed all the heat and then radiated it into the house throughout the evening.

We had our 23 year old flat modified bitumen roof replaced for our single family home in Potrero…read moreHill in San Francisco 2 months ago and we were happy with the results. I got 7 quotes from various roofing companies. Alex, our estimator, gave us a reasonable quote and brought up all the issues, edge-cases etc that some of the other estimators did. We had 11 solar panels on the roof that would've required removal. The panels were installed with approx 1-2 ft of ground clearance. CFY's crew found a way to remove and install the roofing material with the solar panels on, which saved us a couple thousand dollars. Before the installation began, I did a lot of research (with AI) on the kinds of issues to look for during the replacement, what's good material vs not, etc. I'm generally a stickler for details. When the roof was removed, we discovered that the wooden slats below it were original to the house (1939) and were mostly rotting. There was also no plywood under the roof which is another requirement to ensure longevity of the roof. We worked out a price for the additional labor and materials to replace most of the wooden slats and install the plywood. The workers were courteous, answered multiple questions I had for them throughout the day (both in English and my intermediate Spanish), and made sure the job site was clean at the end of the day. They sent cleaners out each day! We had a electric heat pump installed at the same time and the condenser needed to be installed on the finished roof. They helped the HVAC installer bring the condenser unit up to the roof, which was nice of them. The entire reroof took approx 1 week. We ended up with a new 2-ply modified bitumen roof that seems like it'll hold up against the elements. Only time will tell, though. The post-service cleaning, through M&M cleaning, was wonderful! They happily did a bunch of extras for us (garage clean up etc) at no additional cost.

In short, CFY was communicative, accommodating, and proactive about clarifying the additional work. They sent before and after photos.
