The girls been working there for awhile and they still don't know there job. They have a computer in front of them that tells you your a premium and they still wanna charge you especially the girl Olivia is rude and still wanna talk crap about you when seating down. Then when you leave she wanna say by have a good day writing a bad review about me that's how much she doesn't care about working there. You pay 4o.00 a month that you can get better service at a health club with same tanning and at least you can have a workout too for cheaper like 25.00 no contract. On the night of April 8th, my daughter and some of her friends visited L.A. Tan to get sprays. As soon as they walked in, the girls at the front counter sighed loudly and yelled "omg" with clear attitude. My daughter and all her friends reported that the staff were extremely rude, asking them unnecessary questions and making them feel completely unwelcome. I called a few days later to ask for the names of the employees working at the time, and was told it was Olivia and Alexis -- the descriptions I gave matched as well. It's incredibly disappointing to see teen girls treated this way. I came in during February for a Level 3 spray tan and requested a clear solution. However, the lady on shift (not sure of her name, but she had a lot of makeup on and mentioned she was the 'main manager') gave me a bronze tan instead. When I noticed and pointed it out after the spray, she told me there was nothing she could do and was quite rude about it. Today, I came in to speak with Mariah (the other manager), and she was absolutely amazing! She was kind, understanding, and went above and beyond to resolve my issue. I purchased a 1 month package/unlimited tanning .I just explained to the girl who worked that day that I am going on my vacation and I need to prepare my skin for the sun exposure.She recommended 1 months package without contract and advise me that this is a very good option for me if I am leaving for 2 weeks and that I will be ready and glowing.She said to go to cabin number one, I let her to do her magic ,I was there 10 minutes.Everything was just fine, little skin tightness after. Around 6pm I-felt like my body pulsing and my skin burning.Anyway I got the blisters all over my body, the fever and I finished in the ER.Doctor prescribed me the medication with steroids.I called the salon , someone nice responded she told me that I will be contacted by management in couple days.Still waiting, still with the blisters and hurting and without $76 all red. read more

Just called to ask about walk in rates and times-- Someone picked up and just stayed on the phone listening and breathing. I said "hello?" 3 times and heard background noise of another receptionist speaking to someone. Tried calling back twice, it rings 5 times then the line cuts off with no opportunity to leave a voicemail. Friend of mine tried calling as well moments ago & same results happened to her. The salon itself is very nice & clean. The girls who work there are always super professional and so helpful! The dood who owns it is very odd. One of the girls who is no longer there told me he was trying to fix the red light therapy bed himself and that he isn't a professional on fixing tanning beds. Apparently one of the bulbs blew up while he was trying to fix it. That scared me. Also I don't know if he just can't afford to run a tanning salon or if he's just cheap... but none of the beds have new bulbs besides for like 2 of them. And every time I go in there one of the beds is broke. So basically I had to close my account because I don't agree with paying for the highest package and going tanning every day expecting results and nothing happening.. just to find out that the owner isn't keep the beds up to date. It's honestly BS. If your going to run a tanning salon do it right. Not half ass. Especially considering there is a bar next door to it with abunch a creeps that walk past and try to come into the tanning salon and flirt with the teenagers that work there. Every time I went there I was scared for the girls or scared that the bed was gonna blow up because he apparently works on them himself... so please be safe everyone and watch out for any sketchy guys going to or leaving that bar. And just to be clear I don't know the bar owner and i am not downing the bar, I have never been to the bar all I am saying is that the people I've seen leaving the bar have made me run to my car and get the hell out of that parking lot. So be aware of your surroundings and lock your cars! Hopefully the cheap guy who owns that the LA location gets a professional out there inside of trying to take short cuts. Ew. Okay, I usually go on walk-ins and I'm always a level 3, and they are always pretty clean and the service is always alright. Today was way different. Went in today and was greeted by a nice young girl with dark hair, she seemed new because she was asking her (boss?) a lot of questions. HE was rude. Asked me if I had eye wear, nope. Got some. Lotion? Nah, I don't need any. Proceeds with attitude on my choice towards not purchasing any lotion and finishes with "Oh... you're going to waste all your money like that? No buneno." Hmm, okay? Sorry, my wallet is none of your concern. Tells me what room I'm in without pointing me in any sort of direction and didn't even say goodbye on my way out, while he sat on the couch on his phone. I feel as if I was treated instantly like dirt because I didn't buy his Buy 5 Get 5 Free tans or lotion packet. But the regular that walked in after me? Night and day customer service. Really pathetic. The girl was the only one that said bye. He was the reason I won't be coming back to this location. I'm not sure if he is a manager, owner, whatever he is.. find a replacement. ASAP. (Also, I went in level 4 today, the bed was DISGUSTING. I felt like dust was just being blown into my face the whole time. Avoid at all costs. One of the worst LA Tan locations. It is a bit dirty looking inside and the beds do not seem to tan very well (old bulbs?). The fans are ancient looking and rattle loud enough to be audible over the bed and music. The last time I went there were dust bunnies all over the place... even inside of the bed! Gross! I once got locked in a room here and no one seemed to notice... I had to call my friend who was tanning in another room to get me help! The staff here are often too busy talking to one another to notice that you even arrived. The employees are never very nice or helpful. I only go here when I need an emergency destressing on my way to night class after work! read more

I enjoy tanning here and have for awhile but felt I needed to voice how disappointing it is that the shop has a sign on the door that masks are required yet I never see any of the girls working wearing one and due to that several customers that don't either. Not a great example to set. read more

Aylin and Anna are awesome! I'm a seasoned tanner and I couldn't figure out which bed would best for the price. Anna consulted me on the pros and cons for each level. I also came right at closing time and instead of rushing me out both girls like always where very patient with me about my going back and forth on packages and beds. I live in the city (Ukrainian village) and pass many LA fans on the way to this one. But it's due to the employees I keep coming back. There isn't an LA tan in the city with the knowledge, customer service and most of all the level of professionalism that is shown by Anna. Lastly Aylin and Anna always make sure every bed is extremely clean- so I feel comfortable using lay downs knowing the employees take their jobs so seriously. Not sure who the owner is or how he or she recruits their employees: but whatever your doing keep it up. You have earned my buisness- by hiring and maintaining the best LA tan in all of the chicago-land area. (P.s. promote Anna if you haven't to manager: that girl is young, sharp and hardworking! Alexis and Zuzu are very nice ladies that work there. I work long shifts in healthcare. These two ladies are very kind, personable and helpful! I travel a tad farther to this location due to the great customer service and clean facility. The wait times are very short. I have visited this particular location 3 times. I wanted to get a few experiences in before writing a review. If you want fast, clean and personable service. This is a very nice location to visit. It's clean, the ladies that work there are great and I am making this my #1 spot to tan. Thank you ladies for your patience and always being great. If people have to complain about this location. Wow! What a change for the better in this salon! You can definitely tell there has been a change in management and staff. Last year around this time was the last time I was at this location and dealt with a arrogant manager (Sam was his name) who made me 1. Feel bad about the package and lotion I was using and just had an all around bad attitude along for the other girl that was standing there with him basically giggling at me the both of them. Probably the worst customer service ever and to top it off it looked like he had just finished fooling around with her in a room or something after both of them came out of a room together! I even contacted corporate about the matter but nothing was done so the owner obviously didn't cAr their business was being run by a nasty slob with bad managerial skills. This weekend I had a wedding to attend and got a 12 spray tan special on Saturday and just the energy walking into the salon was incredible. Salon smelled and looked great and everything was just very clean (not like last visit) even the spray room was impeccable!!There were two young ladies behind the counter working and they were very helpful and attentive with me explaining how the spray tan works rather than just sending me in there blindsided like last couple of times I was there. My spray tan came out AMAZING!!! I think this salon has had an amazing turn around for the better with the staff polite ladies working that day! And obviously that old manager is no longer running this salon or has changed his Arrogant way because now I actually am going to be coming back and going to be bring my mom to try it as well! If I could give this place zero stars, I honestly would. This place is an embarrassment for the company. Majority of the girls who work here are rude, especially one who's name might be Katie, I'm not sure, but you can easily tell which one she is. She is the most arrogant one there with approximately 15 pounds of makeup on her face. I came in for my first cocktail tan, and I had some questions for her and she acted like I was bothering her. Uh hello...this is your job. She didn't answer all my questions, and I ended up messing up the tan. I looked through the reviews here and noticed that their manager, SAMKO, had posted his number, 312 775 2105, on here so I decided to give him a call. I think I left him 3 voicemails and called repeatedly on many occasions and got nothing. 3 weeks after I tried to call again and miraculously, he blessed me with an answer. He acted like he was going to do so much and promised me a courtesy tan, and then hangs up on me, and doesn't answer when I call back. He is an ass. I'm surprised this place is still even open and running. If you are signed up with LA tan, do yourself a favor and go to their Belmont and Central location. Please, please, please do not waste your time and money going to this particular LA Tan. From the moment you walk in or call, the front desk attendant is miserable and very unapproachable. You will also notice a strong smell of cigarette smoke when you enter the location, which also resonates from the girl who was working during my visit. I have been a member with La Tan since 2009 and have been to over 6 different IL locations, and this by FAR is the most disgusting, dirty and gross one to date. The beds are all in disrepair and dirty. The rooms are dirty the floors are dirty the entire place is GROSS. I felt like i needed to put hand sanitizer all over my body when leaving. Errrrr no. The only reason I joined this chain of tanning salons is the only place I get get to and back in an hour or less from my work on lunch is the Riverwoods LA Tan. So on the weekends, I go to the Norridge one..its like comparing apples to oranges. While Riverwoods/Deerfield location has friendly staff, awesome beds, and a clean facility, the Norridge one cant compete. For one, they dont have any mirrors around so you can fix yourself before leaving..no deodorant. The beds are outdated, and seems the bulbs need to be changed. There is always this pretentious platinum blond they have working there, who just stands around. Shes so short, when you walk in you have to look OVER the counter to see her. Anyways, another thing is the staff here wont tell you if you have upgrades on your account. I had to have Deerfield point this out, when I wanted to do the level 2 bed. Norridge will just tell you "you get seven minutes free". Recently they had J-Wow at the Noridge location. I was like what the hell? For one, this location is in the middle of Norridge (just your ordinary town), and two, its so dimmly lit and dusty, who in their right mind would want to visit? Especially a celebrity. Ive been to Streamwood & Deerfield LA Tans, and I can tell you they are much better than this dump. Again, the only reason I joined is b/c I needed to be able to tan on lunch during the week, and LA Tan is the only place remotely near my work....if you have the choice, join Golden Brown across the street . They have Ergoline beds, large suite-like rooms w/ mirrors, and provide wipes, goggles, deordorant, ect. Just my two cents! :) read more

Alyssa has great people skills and always willing to help you with your questions or concerns you may have. This place used to be tolerable, but now I am paying $43 a month for level 3 tanning and can never get in a bed. They are fixing one of the two lay down beds, so your chance of getting in a level three is slim to none. The stand ups gross me out because the bottom is so dirty. Today I went to tan at 11:15 and no one was there... even though they open at 9. I'm pissed and this place is just been a waste of my money. I love my $5 Tuesdays or $6 for level three. But the staff here has failed. During the summer I remember some pleasant staff but they seem to be gone. Today there was three girls working and all blah. Zero positive energy. They don't greet you and they don't say have a good day. In fact I did and was ignored. Tuesdays can be busy but I always come early when it's empty and I immediately get a bed. I'm sad this location has fallen short with there staff. I've even avoided coming to this location a couple times. For the Midwest this can be a form of therapy to deal with seasonal depression and lack of vitamin D. So the staffs attitude is a big deal!
