I don't know what happened, I've been going to Staci for THREE years now. She is hands down the best person to cut my hair. Saturday I sent a text through the website and was answered by co-owner Angie. I was told to come in at 10:00 and Staci would trim my hair. Sooo today, Wednesday, I arrived 10 mins early and happily waited. Angie, her mom, walked in and asked could she help me. I told her I have a 10 am with Staci, much to her surprise. I was told Staci has kids and could not have appts this week. Also she did not remember the 10 appt conversation we had via text. It wasn't until I found said text that there was a vague memory that perhaps the conversation happened. She also started mumbling about computer issues and such, saying that if I never received a confirmation text, there was no appt and supporting that she continued with that's how doctors appointments go. You must receive a reminder email. I countered with she is not a doctors office and a text saying come on Wednesday at 10 am should be confirmation enough.! Angie is now going to do my hair.... I'm fuming! In conversation of the difference between a trim and a 2 inch cut, I got more angry and started to get up from the chair at which Angie grabbed my salon cap and shoved me back in the chair! I'm not a fighter so I sat down and let her finish and she did mumbling to whole way. When she was done, (good job btw) I went to pay and she didn't charge me. So now I've lost an amazing hairdresser and I have to look somewhere else. Oh and one more thing, after all this, I tried texting Staci and she has me blocked! So disappointed and upset. read more

Staci did less than ok overall. I expected a better haircut. I wanted my hair cut straight across instead of adding more layers. It took me years to grow out of layers and now I gotta start over. Before the appointment she said estimated around $150 and I ended up paying $290 plus tip. I asked for icy blonde to the near top of my roots and instead I have strands that's are missing blonde in between other blonde strands. So it basically looks like I barely got my hair done. Two weeks later my hair looked the same as it did before I got it done. I also dont like how she started talking about political views. Everyone has different opinions and talking to the wrong person will get ya shit smacked. Period. I don't think it's the correct topic to discuss while getting my hair done. I won't be going back, and I'll make sure everyone I know in that neighborhood to avoid going to that salon. read more

I have been here twice now and I haven't had a cut I liked this much since I left the state I lived in 9 years ago. I showed her a pic and she went to town. She did exactly what I wanted and I am feeling so cute and amazing now! Just something simple like this hair cut has completely lifted my spirits! I also want to mention that my hair is pretty thick. I've been going to Angie's since 2013 for color since my colorist at another salon moved out of state. It took me about 2 years to find someone I love that didn't damage my hair. I'm happy to say that Staci brought my hair back to life, my hair has never been so healthy, she is honest and listens. I have thin hair (runs in the family) and Staci added extensions not for length but for fullness...my hair looked amazing. I removed them due to the pandemic, but now that the salon is open I may have to get them put back in! Not only did I find an awesome colorist, every time I have an appointment it's more like visiting family. Yes at times there may be a wait, but that's at EVERY salon. I'm ok with that and I plan accordingly. There was one time that I had to be somewhere and had very little cushion, I advised Staci as soon as I arrived and she made sure I was in/out. Let me tell you I missed my visits during the start of the pandemic....not only were my roots horrible I missed the salon chats. Staci came to the rescue and delivered, to my front door step, color for my roots...TWICE..who does that!?! I know it may seem shallow but being able to color my roots made me feel good. I CUT MY HAIR!!!!! Well Sam the amazing stylist at Angie's Cut it! My hair was super long and dead and lifeless, but Sam did an amazing job and brought it back to life! She layered it so nice and I'm soooo happy with my experience here! From the moment I walked in I knew this was the place! The salon was super clean and Sam and Angie were very pleasant! Unprofessional. I had an appointment on Sunday. I called all morning to see if I could come in earlier (website says they're open 8a-3p) no answer. So I decide to go to the salon 30 min before my appointment and the shop was closed!!!! I waited an hour and nobody showed up. My engagement photos were Sunday and I didn't have enough time to find someone else. My day was completely ruined. They should have the courtesy to let the customer know if they can't show up just like it is expected from the customer when they have to cancel. I wish I can give this salon a negative 3 . Do not go here! Stacy is the most unprofessional hairstylist I have seen in my life , they completely damaged my hair and told me it was my fault because I shouldn't be blonde , when I've been blonde almost all my life, my hair is falling out in pieces and I have to cut off more than half of my hair . I have ever had an experience like this . I can't style my hair I can't put it up I can't do anything. I've been coming to this salon for a long time, but I think I've had enough of it and the delays and gossip that goes on in there. Yes, I'm well aware that all salons are gossip central, but all they ever do is rip on people, make fun of them if they are not "loaded" or greek. What can you expect here? Gorgeous color and nice haircut. What else? Spending 4-6hrs here! Yes, between 4 and 6 hours, that is insane! I had an 9am appt, they told me I'd be the first one, and low and behold I arrive to having some lady sitting with color, a dude with highlights, and another lady mid way through a haircut. I was taken AFTER all these folks were totally complete, at 11:30am. My highlights were interrupted to do someone's roots. When my highlights were done, the girl in the back washed my hair, and told me to sit across from the stylist to wait for her, another 1hr of waiting with wet hair, cold air blowing from the door opening and closing, and a wet towel dripping. My haircut was YET AGAIN interrupted to go wash out and keep checking on other people's colors. By 2pm I was finally out! From 9am to 2pm for haircut & highlights? Unacceptable. The pricing is tricky here, as they go by "ranges" the ranges are somewhat determined by how much they like you. If you are talkative and agree with them, you get service a little cheaper. If you are quiet and dont giggle at the gossip, you pay a slight surcharge. Maybe this was fine for 1990 on Harlem, not in 2010 on Irving. Stacy does nice up do's, she's quick and tries out unique styles, the only issue is that her stories are focused on how "rich" she is or wants to be. She always has a smerk on her face like she is better than you, and you should be thankful she is even touching your hair. Schedule with her once, and that means you better come in there every time to have her do your hair, otherwise she'll be mean. Angie is the owner, a bubbly nice lady. She does a great job, but is slowww. She did an up do for my cousin's wedding party, it took her 2.5hrs to do the brides hair, the bride was late to EVERY other appointment after hers due to this. Who needs that stress on their wedding day. Angie talked and talked instead of doing the hair. If you want nice hair, these ladies will definitely do the job. However, they are not courteous of your time, or that you had an appt for a particular time, or if you are late to your own wedding. Once you enter here, you are on THEIR time. The reason I gave 3 stars is they do very nice work, you will be happy with your color, your haircut will be perfect; however you will spend double the time of anywhere else, not know what to expect in terms of pricing (last visit compared to current visit), starving after sitting there for 4-6hrs, and a headache from all the gossip. read more

After speaking with her she did my color and cut which I was extremely satisfied with. My hair was really bad dry and britt. I have been going to Angie's Hair Studio sporadically for about 10 years. I went to Staci for highlights and have always been very happy with the way my hair turned out until my recent appointment. Staci disappointed me. The highlights she gave me were reddish on top and blond on the bottom and they were uneven chunky highlights. I called the next day to say I was not happy with the way my hair turned out and was able to get an appointment for later that day to try and fix it. Staci was not happy to see me and was very rude. I left the salon still unhappy with the way my hair turned out and very disappointed with the way I was treated by Staci. I do want to make it clear that her mom, Angie, was very accommodating and made an effort to make me happy by offering to blow dry my hair because Staci wanted the shampoo girl to blow dry it. Staci's conversations seem to be more important to her than what you are actually paying her to do. Staci made it clear that she obviously doesn't need me as a customer and with the attitude I got that day, I am okay with not being one. read more

Before I visited this salon I did what any prudent person would do, read the reviews. My Appointment was with Stacey (who apparently is the owners daughter). I arrived 15 minutes early so that I would be on time. My appointment time came and went, about an hour and 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment, she took me to her chair. I brought along a photo and explained the very simple trim that I wanted as I waited a very long time for my hair to grow out and finally wanted to have nice looking hair. She didn't pay attention to anything I said, was very hurried and not apologetic for the tardiness then proceeded to tell me how good she was, experienced and that she knows what I want and I will be very happy with it. I couldn't see what she was doing and took her word that she did know what she was doing. She chopped off several inches of my hair much shorter than I asked for (a trim) not 3 inches. Cut the top shorter I wanted one length. So I am now back to having shapeless hair. She spent a whole 15-20 minutes with me! Did not even blow my hair out. I would never recommend to anyone. Horrible. This is the most unorganized and unprofessional hair salon in Chicago. I had an appointment at 11am and I was finally taken at 12:15pm. Even though it took the stylist 1 hr and 15min to take me, she had another customer while I was in her chair. I am not joking. She started a hair cut on me and then when her other client was ready to have her dye rinsed, she went back to her. I have never heard or seen a stylist taking care of multiple customers. My stylist wasn't the only stylist with more than 1 customer. It's no wonder my hair cut was the worst haircut I ever had. My hair is ultra easy to cut, most places do the entire thing in 40 min or so. I finally walked out of there at 2pm, with a bad hair cut. This salon seriously needs some good management, stylists that can manage appointments and clients, and overall a more professional staff. THERE IS ALSO NO PRICE MENU.
