I have been coming to this location for a couple years and I really love it. There are more parking spaces now and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Even if you don't have a package, you can come for $5 on Tuesdays and it's a quick in and out. Love the location and this place! read more

Where do i begin...... First off, perhaps the worst costumer service I've ever dealt with in my life, I'm paying to tan there, not asking for much but some common courtesy would have been great. Not all their employees were aweful. There were a few who would remember your name or something simple like that, which was great and also what a service based industry is all about. Today after my tan, I literally walked up and cancelled my membership and will never be back. The beds were weak, some missing face tanner bulbs. Ever since i started tanning, I was used to nice boutique tanning salons, often higher end but i figured I'd give the franchise a chance and man i regret it, If you want to tan in the South Loop go see Sandra at Bella Bronze, where I used to tan, its the epitome of what costumer service is all about. I don't know what that one girls review is talking about clean and nice, walk in there, look at their old beds and judge for yourself but dont expect a friendly hi, because most the girls just look like they don't want to be there and are looking to get out as quick as they can read more

I would give 0 stars to this place. The place never opens on time. I go there because it is the only place in South Loop that I can go to. At the door and online it says that the place opens 9am but they are so irresponsible and never open at 9am. Today as well as many other times I went to tan at 10.45 and the place was closed even thought the at the door there was a sign that said the place should've been open at 9am. Another girl who showed right after me had the same experience. The girl who works there doesn't pay attention to the customers. She is on the phone and hangover all the time. I am very upset because I plan my time and it seems any time I decide to go there the place is closed. I just waste my time walking there. I will never sing up for membership anymore just because LA TAN it is so disorganized and does not respect their own work hours and customers. read more

LA Tan is an evil company that treats its customers horribly! I have had the absolute worst experiences dealing with this company. I started using the location in Schaumburg/Hoffman Estates on Golf Road. Even from the start I should have known that this place was trouble. When I joined the monthly program, they did not explain anything to me. They treated me as if I should just know how their policies and procedures work. I did tan there for about a year with few problems. Overall, the staff was always busy talking on the phone to friends, or better yet, having their friends come in and talk to them while they were "working". After a year at that location, I was relocating to Chicago and went in to the salon to freeze my membership. The girl working gave me a list of locations in Chicago and tried to convince me that I should not freeze my membership. I told her that I was unsure what location might be close to my new home and I would like to freeze my membership anyway. When I left that day, I had thought I had frozen my membership. It turned out that there was a location 2 blocks from my new home in the south loop. I never went into the location as I assumed my membership was frozen and I was just being charged $3 per month. That was a year ago. Last week, I went into the location in the South Loop to start tanning again due to an upcoming vacation. The girl told me that I have a balance of $234 and that I was going to be sent to collections!!! Shocked and appalled, I wanted to get the situation addressed right away. I explained that at my last visit to the Golf Road location, I froze my membership. She said that I did not, there is NOTHING she could do and that I would have to call the corporate office, (which, of course, was not open). I called and left a message anyway. No one returned my call for 2 days. When I finally did get a return call, the girl, Jennifer, was rude, disrespectful and overall obnoxious. I explained the situation of freezing my account. She said my account was not frozen and that I owed the monthly fee for the last year. (for a service I NEVER USED). She said my card had not been billed because it had expired. I asked why no one has contacted me about the expired card. I also wanted to know why I had to call them to find out that I was going to get sent to collections. She said that the automated system should have been calling me. I explained that I have never once received a phone call from them and that I am not the type of person that avoids paying bills or ignores matters such as this. She told me that I could pay $117 today to have the account cleared and not go to collections. I explained that this offer was not good enough. I would be happy to pay the $3 per month that I should have been paying all along. But I did not want to, nor feel it was fair that I should have to pay $117 because some dumb girl working did not do what she was supposed to do and freeze my membership. Jennifer (the collection girl) told me that it was MY PROBLEM!!! She went on to say that they computer time stamps everything and that she personally called me a week prior. I then asked what number the system was calling (which turned out to be correct, but I never got a call) and asked if I could get a copy off all the times that they have called. She immediately changed the story and said she doesn't have that information. Funny how that works... So let me get this straight, I only get notified that there is a problem, WHEN I NOTIFY THEM!!!! After Jennifer continued to be rude and obnoxious, I asked to speak to her boss. To which she told me, she doesn't have a boss and that she is self employed! What?? You work for LA Tan, I called you at their corporate office. You have to report to someone, unless you are the CEO and if that is the case then I have a thing or two to tell you about running a business. I finally hung up. I called back and asked to speak to someone that handles complaints or concerns. I was transferred to someone else, who answered the phone with a simple "Hello?" Really? Hello? This company needs a lesson in professionalism!!! I explained everything that I had been through thus far. The girl seemed disinterested and said she'd call me back today. Have I heard from her? NOPE!! Unbelievable!! What kind of customer service is this? They were rude, unprofessional, inattentive, disrespectful and obnoxious. I would recommend that anyone considering a tanning membership stay far far far away from LA TAN. They are completely NOT worth the headache!!!!!!!! Clearly, they need some help learning how to treat customers. I have worked in customer service for 10+ years and never have I experienced such a poor display of customer service! I will make sure that none of my friends, family, co workers, acquaintances or even enemies go to any LA TAN!!! read more

Very friendly staff, clean establishment and beds, great daily tanning specials as well as monthly deals. Not pushy to make you sign up which I appreciate because been to many tanning salons that you either must sign up or it's hard to avoid because the pressure. Short wait if any for a bed. First off, I NEVER write reviews. I just had to write one because of the horrible service I received. I have been going to LA Tan for almost a decade. I have had countless positive experiences. But this one takes the cake as the worst ever. I paid to use a level 5 bed, but when I got in it, 5 regular bulbs and almost all of the shoulder bulbs were burnt out. Burnt bulbs are understandable and happen from time to time. Any other time it's happened to me at another location over the, again, almost DECADE, there has been no argument about switching beds. However after my experience at this location, it's clear that there were so many burnt bulbs because they don't care about their customer's satisfaction. When I got out of the bed to tell them there were a lot of burnt bulbs, the snotty worker gave me a weird look until I said "well what are you going to do about it?" and then she started arguing that she couldn't do anything. Again, I know from many other experiences at LA Tan that this is just not true and that they are ALWAYS able and willing to switch beds for you. I had to leave without getting a tan and without getting my money back. I wish I could give this location 0 stars for horrible service. read more

I think this LA Tan location is one of the better locations. The staff is almost always very nice and competent, and the facility is always clean. However, it does get minus one star because twice I have been in for a spray tan and the Versa Spa machine has been down. I hate when this happens because I drive when I get a spray tan, and the next location is the 123 Madison location, which is very inconvenient for parking. read more

I found the customer service at this location to be awful. The people there are always indifferent and unfriendly, but I had an especially unpleasant experience tonight. I went in and got stuck waiting behind a new customer. I understand that it takes a little while to set up a new account, but this was different. I waited behind him for a solid ten minutes without even being acknowledged, even though there were two employees there and only one was helping him. Seriously, how hard is it to say, "Hi. We'll be right with you." Maybe they could even just use the other register? I got none of that. In fact, the only word spoken to me was "Seeya" as I was walking frustratedly out the door. Either the employee was being snotty or she just automatically says that whenever someone leaves. I'm not invisible. They saw me standing there and decided not to care. That isn't how you treat a loyal customer. I won't be going back again. read more
